I bought one used off archerytalk. They are fantastic. The angle of the hook being more towards your middle finger makes it feel much less likely to accidentally fire it.

They did a great job on it. The fit and feel is impressive. When compared to the hinge I shoot now, I agree that the hook location makes it easier to draw your bow without feeling the need to put all the weight on your index and middle finger.

Just ordered my Hinge 2 today. Excited to get it in and start shooting with it. I actually bought my Bowtech Solution from Sunrise last March. Y’all got a really nice shop!

Nice man! It's an awesome release. If you have questions about it, go see Derek at Sunrise. He's been shooting it for a while now and shoots great with it.

Solid video. For anyone considering the hinge 2, get the hunting bracket and don’t fool with the thumb pegs. The pegs are great, but the feel and way the hunting bracket is much more streamlined makes it that much better. I use the hinge for ASA 3D and hunting and have success with both.

Thank you! I'm going to keep trying to get used to it.
I think changing my D-loop length will help make it feel more natural.

@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors that definitely will help. I’ve shot a UV hinge since they came out, and the only downside is there’s not another release like it that I’ve tried. So if you’re someone who likes to switch between 3 or 4 different releases, you just need to send it back probably. But, I love the hinge so much that I have two of them and use it as my full time release no matter what I’m doing. Like you said, just shortening the d-loop will get your anchor right in the sweet spot.

I agree. The design, the feel, the weight, and the adjustability was all amazing, but it just wasn't for me. Nothing against the Hinge 2 at all. I do think it's a fantastic product.

Same here, i love my Stan Pefex LN and didnt want to shorten my draw length. loved shooting the Hinge 2 while i had it, its a great release and very comfy but didnt want to change anything on my bow to make it work perfectly for me. now im waiting for Stans Onnex series to come out, they said their hinge and thumb release would be the same length so im looking forward to that.

    In a Medium.
    I use for off season.
    3D/comp shoots.
I still hunt with my Carter Wise Choice.

Did you have to change your draw or D-Loop length to shoot the hinge?

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors Negative!
The bow was set up for the Carter Wise Choice.
There wasn’t any change in D loop of DL for me on my V3X 29

My anchor point was way off when I went to the hinge. When I can, im going to test out the new Stan Onnex.

The Hinge 2 is a very nice release and you mostly did a good job with the video albeit with one glaring exception. Your statement that someone that twists the release to fire is shooting it incorrectly is just plain wrong for many accomplished archers. I shoot this release very effectively by twisting it while maintaining relaxed tension. Increasing tension can be difficult to exactly reproduce on each shot. All that matters is that the archer is able to shoot consistently with whatever fire sequence they choose to go with. Very similar to thumb releases and the squeeze to fire versus the command shot method. Different strokes for different folks. Results should determine which style each individual archer chooses.

      Thanks.
I value your opinion and appericate your comment but i don’t think what I said is incorrect.
A hinge release is a back tension release and if you focre the rotation, then you’re defeating the purpose. However, if it works, I agree, keep doing it.

Carter evolution is not based on the wise choice body… it is based on the carter sensation body… the carter nock on silver back (newest edition) is based off the carter nock on Nock 2 it which is a two finger version of the wise choice.. but they will have very similar anchor points.. just the evolution has a hook where the wise choice has a jaw… the carter total control has the same anchor feel as the wise choice however it doesn’t have ring and middle finger grooves… but it does have a 2 moon system like the UV hinge does… you just have to load on your index during your draw cycle a good bit more…. The nock on 2 smooth is mostly based off that total control… there is also the carter honey which is the carter total control but with a safety for those learning a hinge…

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I spoke with Carter and the Evolution 20 was built to “closely” mimic the wise choice but I ended up getting the Nick on Silverback. At The Total Archery Challenge I got a check it out and aside from the third finger, felt identical to the WC.
That's for the input on the Carter Hinges. I have not checked those out yet.
