    I thought the bell looked a bit more originally retro but when tried on it was too narrow, while with the shoei the pressure was more dispersed (a good thing). On the bright side you end up with free internal visor with the Shoei.

    Great review. Such a beautiful helmet. In the review you said, " your head can be removed carefully and safely" because of the innovative cheek pad system. Is there an option to keep my head attached?

    Great video, great helmet - Shoei have some superb lids at the moment.
    I used to be an Arai man through and through but their refusal (I believe) to do things like modular helmets, drop down visors, retro styled helmets is losing them market share - me included.
    Nice one guys.

    I just bought one. Very light. Fit is just a tad more narrow than my other Shoei’s. The XS, S, M all use the same shell then the large is its own shell. I normally wear M so stuck with that especially as I didn’t want to jump up a shell size

    • @fabbsup
      @fabbsup 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was wondering about the Shell sizes. How do you know that the first three sizes share one shell? Cheers

    • @80sruler
      @80sruler 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fabian Prell Three different outer shell sizes and four separate EPS liner sizes ensure the perfect fit and compact dimensions ensure light weight. Shell sizes are split into XS-M, L and XL-XXL.

    Very good and detailed review ! First of all thank you for that ! I just have one question as I want to order this exact model. The only thing I want to know is if the internal visor can be removed and replaced quickly? I wanted to get a smoked and a clear visor so I can install the tinted/smoked one in sunny weather conditions and replace it with the clear one for night rides.
    Thanks in advance for your answer ! :-)

    Does the chin bar form part of the protection as it does with their more normal full face helmets of is it weaker and more for styling?

  • @allgoo1990
    @allgoo1990 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Back in the day(1970s) Arai(新井) was the only game in town and cheap to boot, open face Arai was the one everyone was wearing..
    Shoei(昭栄?) didn't even exist(or in its infancy as a company).
    Nowadays all top racers wear Arai(or Shoei) and the prices are prohibitive .
    Time flies.

      Yes, I've used it for a week. It's essentially open faced so loudness is like any other MC styled helmet. It's perhaps slightly quieter than the Bell Moto 3 but a lot of the time, noise levels are so subjective in relation to fit, type of bike, etc.

    Do you know if Shoei will have different thickness cheek pads for this helmet as they do with their other models? Wouldn't mind a retro helmet when riding my old Vespa. I've had a Shoei NXR with their thickest cheek pads for the last couple years/20,000 miles - the fit perfect and I couldn't go back to not having thicker cheek pads for the perfect fit. I must have a skinny face.

      Dan O I think if it’s a ultra face helmet with tons on inner vents for a athlete who’s going all out for 30 minutes that helmet would flow
      More air and often be louder but ear plugs will tame that sound...
      Often these more open face helmets flow allot of air but if there are no vents inside it will or could be a sweat fest as they expect you to be moving enough to ram air next to your face and around the bottom with no inner vents...
      The question is are there inner vents and right now he mentioned nothing and we easily see no obvious vents.
      Also the visor would dry your eyes out POSSIBLY as air circles up and under with light volume over a hour on freeway... for example your eyes would eventually get very dry.
      Googles seam the must or tight eye glasses in those 1 Hour+ type Rides imo.
      Hope this helps.
