I have the Shoei and a DMD 75. The Shoei I prefer to keep the visor clear as my goggles are tinted so i switch to the visor at night. The DMDs chin bar is worryingly close to the face so i much prefer my Shoei X zero
Same for me. Although now I have photochromic goggles. I tried Barstows but found them so big that I can’t fit them comfortably in the opening. (I wear an XL too)
I’ve been watching Itchyboots and she wears an Arai, I’ve wondered why she wears goggles when she has a visor? Other than one being tinted are there any other reasons? Also, hers look like they’re magnetic?
@@jerhughes500 the visor works but it’s not as protective of your eyes as goggles (obviously) or as a full face helmet. It’s like halfway between a full face and sunglasses. Works for Batman though
Is the a noticeable difference in the HJC and the Shoei concerning windnoise ? The HJC closes it's visor down sealing the chin bar. This could make quite a difference. But does it?
Are there different peak visors for the hjc or in general are there peak visors fitting in general to those helmets? I like to put the bycity visor on the hjc 😊
A three stud visor FITS a five stud BELL and a five stud visor fits a three stud helmet....all interchangeable. The modern BELL MOTO III is way bigger than the original ones.
As a typical "Shoei Head" the ByCity was a bad fit. It pressed on my forehead but left tons of air around the temples. It's a shame since The Rock is the best looking of the bunch. Only way around this would be to downsize and then modify the foam, but no, that would compromise the safety and protection of the helmet too much. HJC, here I come!
Hi, it's one of the Bell Moto 3 Designs that they have: www.urbanrider.co.uk/bell-moto-3-classic-helmet-fasthouse-checkers-matte-gloss-black-white-red.html - Iza
Good helmets, all of them, but I still prefer my Roof Boxer V8. I don't like goggles. Of these, then, I'd take the HJC or Shoei as they have visors. Shoeis tend to fit me, so that's the winner. The Bycity looks the most stylish and is the cheapest. Jarring music between video sections.
Nice looking helmets. But wouldn’t wind noise be an issue with this style of helmet? How do they compare in terms of wind noise to a closed helmet? Thanks
If you're not using ear plugs (which you really should be), then these would probably end up being similar if not louder than an open face, because most open faces have a seal around the ears due to the need for the fit to be tighter than a full face. A full face or well sealed flip up would always be quieter, but then "quiet" helmets will never vent as well as these, it comes with the territory
I second that. I find this style is closer to an open face helmet in terms of wind noise. The beauty of these is you get 75% of the feeling of an open face (wind on your face etc) with the safety of a chin bar.
I have a Roeg Peruna, and I prefer it to my Bell adv helmet. I wear earbuds for music, and I feel like noise is about the same in both helmets. I’ve taken both on multi-day rides, and I think the Roeg is even the more comfortable option.
I have the Shoei EX-Zero since 2019. It’s amazing in all aspects! Cheers from Brazil!

Shoei and Bell are the most beautiful !
For anyone who likes the look of the Shoei, but can't afford the price tag, the Bogotta FF980 is very similar.
Can you fit speakers in all of them? I think is a good feature left out of the comparison.

Same use case for the Shoei with me - tinted Barstow goggles and use the visor for when it's dark,

I love the style of the ByCity, but not including a drop down has left me leaning towards the HJC or Shoei.
