Last year at 35 I was diagnosed with melanoma, a fast forming skin cancer. This is now my reality all because I used to tan in tanning beds as a teenager through my early 20's. Don't do it, spray tan if you want a tan

Sorry but sun is just the same both you burn ! 🔥❤ No white women don’t want to be black!⛑🤣 You can maybe say mixed race for the ones who choose to tan more often in the week. Me personally I sometimes like to go dark but mostly I like to stay on the lighter side of yellow skin rather then orange 🍊
Death is not an issue, you dead and not conscious. However, the pain and suffering because of illness and disease is what should concern you. No person want to experience pain and suffering and be on medication the rest your life.
Joy is right. Black people need to be careful in the sun as well. I know she was busting up Whoopi’s joke about the tanning beds but I see why she did. Sunny bullshted through a salient point as usual. Like please bring a Black American woman to this show that can pack a punch like Anna does for her folks and Alyssa does for hers. Or man. Or person. They can be a conservative or progressive idc. Have them as a regular. Keep everyone just add them I beg! There are so many Black folks out here who would use that little bit of speaking time amazingly.
In Australia tanning beds have been banned. They are illegal. We have enough issues with sun damage and we care about our people getting skin cancer. Naturally there was a bit of uproar, but now everyone has adapted and we all use fake tan when needed.
Good luck to them. Thanks to our obsession with tanning beds in the 90's, my sis and I have had so many Moh's surgeries, we couldn've purchased a sports car. Not worth it!
about a month ago, I ran into a girl I grew up with She asked how my face still looked so young. I said to her, enjoy your wrinkles, it means you've lived your life. I thought about it afterword and thought, she was one of the girls who went out tanning back in Jr High and High School. I was not, that's why I'm in my 40's and look 28.
As many women know, if you’ve ever had a scar, nick, or injury, you can use all the creams and remedies available and those will go away. BUT. If you lay out in the sun for 1 hour, those long lost dark spots will come back immediately! This is coming from lived experience.
Gen Z thinks looking brown is zeksi. Always better than looking orange like Trump (having a barely-there bikini tan line because he thinks it makes him look zeksi. ?????). I use a bed for other things than tanning, like, you know... sleeping after I've had zeks in it (I can't fall asleep if I haven't had zeks first, so I'm awake like...forever).
I’m 32 and I’ve been going to tanning beds since I was 18. I don’t go that often, about every 2 months-4 months. It’s important to pay for a higher level tanning bed with UVA/UVB bulbs, those that can control the time and amount the bulbs distribute on each area of the body, don’t go every week, and buy good tanning lotion that will enhance but protect your skin as well. And eyewear!
I find instinctually the trends is meeting everyone in the middle… I think up until recently the trends have been white ppl need to be tan and black people need to be lighter… I think in modern era people are embracing their pale skin or their dark skin…. But it seems like genz is falling back into 2000s trends. They vape and now tan… millenials gonna look so good in comparison
I cared about my looks waaay more when I was young. Not caring about my looks so much is one of the perks of getting older. You should still avoid the sun/tanning beds but that's for health reasons.
As a 38 year old, very pale white, red head, I only recommend going to the tanning bed the months prior to a beach or high Uv vacation spot and follow the strict guidelines, that most taking places have. Better to get acclimated before a major burn. I talked for two years straight and lived how it felt and the way it made me look until I developed a black spot under my eye and everyone kept asking me if I needed to get away from my abuser. I also red spots on my body from it.

That generation doesn’t know any history beyond last Monday. Let them learn for themselves.
Dermatologists should start raising their prices now for treating their future conditions 😆
Ever since I saw the tanning bed death scene in Final Destination as a child I've refused to ever get into a tanning bed, and never have. Though I wasn't particularly interested before either. Pale is beautiful!
Why is woopie on there!! She is always annoyed and not interested in anything and is so rude!!
Wear sunscreen! Wear sunglasses and a wide-brim hat. I stay out of the sun as much as possible and wear sunscreen regularly. Doing this over decades makes a huge difference!
Your white skin is a mutation. Y'all the only race of people that the sun is actively trying to kill😂😂😂
If I were Any Human Being of a non-colored Persuasion, I'd ditch that Tanning Bed immediately!!! Stick to methods that Don't BURN YOU!!!
#ViewNation #ThatTanRisk!!! #YouDontWannaBurn!!!
I know some black women who use tanning beds.
I followed my older sisters in the 90’s and started tanning very young.
I have to be checked every 6mths. .. I have things on my skin that not everyone has
Ban them. They are banned in Australia
They don't want our problems, just our color,.. 😀
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Basically 😂
They're obviously not paying attention to politics, otherwise they'd realize there's about to be a bunch of orange Gen Z'ers running around.
I laid on the beach covered in baby oil. I am Caucasian but tan easily. I had all the skin stuff from pregnancies.
Sunscreen lady here!
Death is not an issue, you dead and not conscious. However, the pain and suffering because of illness and disease is what should concern you. No person want to experience pain and suffering and be on medication the rest your life.
My mom died of melanoma. It was horrible to watch /live threw. Please protect your skin. It's not worth it.
I’m with sunny i had no idea that so many people wanted darker / olive skin
Joy is right. Black people need to be careful in the sun as well. I know she was busting up Whoopi’s joke about the tanning beds but I see why she did. Sunny bullshted through a salient point as usual. Like please bring a Black American woman to this show that can pack a punch like Anna does for her folks and Alyssa does for hers. Or man. Or person. They can be a conservative or progressive idc. Have them as a regular. Keep everyone just add them I beg! There are so many Black folks out here who would use that little bit of speaking time amazingly.
Why hasn't The View been cancelled?
Whoopi needs to retire. She’s not even interested she needs to retire already retire whoop retire
Once again they managed to turn a topic that has absolutely nothing with race, into a topic about race.
In Australia tanning beds have been banned. They are illegal.
We have enough issues with sun damage and we care about our people getting skin cancer.
Naturally there was a bit of uproar, but now everyone has adapted and we all use fake tan when needed.
I will not put that chemical orange crap on my skin, it’s just as bad.
@@tazmaray4973 Thank you for your comment.
Hey.....it's their body, their choice lol
Lots of people think there’s a police state coming, no choice over our lives, our bodies and or free thinking.
Gen z. Wow entitled brats
Sunshine is free healthcare.
Alyssa never said THANK YOU to Black PEOPLE!
Why would you want to look orange like Trumpster?
People that tan aren’t trying to be or look black Sunny 🙄🙄
Good luck to them. Thanks to our obsession with tanning beds in the 90's, my sis and I have had so many Moh's surgeries, we couldn've purchased a sports car. Not worth it!
about a month ago, I ran into a girl I grew up with She asked how my face still looked so young. I said to her, enjoy your wrinkles, it means you've lived your life. I thought about it afterword and thought, she was one of the girls who went out tanning back in Jr High and High School. I was not, that's why I'm in my 40's and look 28.
Sarah is so beautiful! ❤❤
Black people aren't the only tan people Sunny.
Tanned skin is not black, in the strictest sense, but more of the Latin American/Middle Eastern/(South-)East Asian skin tone.
They want to look black. Everyone you just named bleaches their skin.
Her point still stands. Cry😂
That’s just Sunny Hostin being sunny Houston. Not so bright.
Ya'll want to be us so bad🤣🤣🤣
Or Mediterranean.
Sunny makes it about race again...its a tan.
They have fake tan, which is way better than tanning beds.
Mulher tem que ser tipo aceada bacana
I find instinctually the trends is meeting everyone in the middle… I think up until recently the trends have been white ppl need to be tan and black people need to be lighter… I think in modern era people are embracing their pale skin or their dark skin…. But it seems like genz is falling back into 2000s trends. They vape and now tan… millenials gonna look so good in comparison
who picks these topics? like bye
Thats crazy, tanning beds are illegal in most states of Australia, we have been warned all our life about melanoma
I’m not surprised. They are bringing a lot late 90s, early 00s crap.
