Gerald Williams Tribute (Bass Vocalist)

Gerald Williams is a SGMA Hall of Famed bass vocalist that has been singing with class since the 1940’s. He managed and toured with his quartet the Melody Boys.
He turns 91 on October 7th (2024). Enjoy these clips of one of the greatest bass singers and gentlemen to ever grace the stage.

I came across this video through the Kinsmen’s Facebook page (he’s now the bass vocalist for them), and I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to meet him (along with Mr. Bill Hankins and Mr. Mark Little; I had met Mr. Gary Paxton at the University of Arkansas at Monticello when he worked at the door of the bookstore a few years earlier) in Moro Bay, Arkansas last year.

You've heard it said many times he was a natural Bass not a Baritone and in my estimation Gerald is a Southern Gospel Bass singer of the highest order in the mold of the great Quartet basses of the 40s 50s 60s and also those phenomenal Black Basses such as Issac Freeman, Jimmy Jones et al Mr Williams had it all in spades.
