1:30 Tim should sing in this range more often. His tone is so rich and his riffs and "flourishes" I suppose are gorgeous. This is my favorite part of the whole song. He probably sings in this range more than I realize but that part was heaven sent.
Well, I don't know about the "non-expert" part, since I began singing at the tender age of 3-and-1/2 years old, and am still singing at nearly 65-years-old, but I have to agree with you about the bass note. However, I think a better term for these guys would be "professional" singers, since I am not a pro, but I would say I'm "well versed" as a singer. (No pun intended. LOL)
Last night (9/28/22) you were in Missoula Montana. You put on what I have been told was the "Dad's" concert.....Whitney Huston t shirt and all.... My daughter and one of her sons .... (my youngest grandson)... were in attendance. Thank you for making a little autistic boys night. My grandson holds you all in awe...he knows all of your songs...and dance moves. He was seated four rows from the stage on your left....when you all pointed him out and applauded his singing and "dance moves" he was in orbit. As my grandson left the show he was high fived and fist bumped by several audience members as the "dancing kid." He was in hope of getting a shirt but due to mechanical issues he was unable to. He told me he is going to save his money so when you come back he will get "meet and greet" tickets for his mom and himself. Thank you for providing a life long memory for my daughter and her son. She was crying happy tears as she told me about this magical evening that Asher had spent with Home Free. Often we don't see what a powerful small act of kindness can mean to someone. Thanks again...
I'm with you. I listening to this at least 4 times every morning before work so it will get stuck in my head. My coworkers can't figure out why I'm always in a good mood. :-)
I love you guys and Pentatomix. I also love Acappella . I have even asked our music director at church to set up an Acappella group. You have inspired me with the hymns and the country music. Thank you to both groups. You have given me great enjoyment.
The magic of acapella is that you can listen to it so many times in so many ways and never get tired because you're always just so amazed at how so many sounds can mesh so well to come up with something beautiful
I wish those two would work together more often. Every note is a pleasure. I was stoked this morning when allergies gave me super-bass powers, and I immediately opened this song so I could sing that last note with Mr. Foust. To have that kind of range and vocal athleticism...
The ultimate comment.. I let my grandpa listen to this, and he, a man that really does NOT like music, said yall were great and did great on this song.. And that man legit tells me every song I ever play him sucks and that I need to turn it off.. Yall killed it on this song, great job

I totally agree with y'all that Tim and Avi are absolutely amazing, but can we please also appreciate Austin's voice in this? His high notes are so clear and beautiful, it's really impressive!
The one and only Tardis Heck yesss like I go crazy for Tim and Avi (like everyone else) but gah lee I honestly think Austin is my personal favorite he hits those high notes SO flawlessly!!
I love Avi's smile on his face. He really looks like he is enjoying singing with Home Free. I'd love to see him do more stuff with you guys. SUCH a joy.!!!!
Yep, he does that. I'll be driving down the road, blasting the whole street with my reverb and I'll be the only one that knows I'm listening to Pentatonix at less than half volume and they're just getting the Avi effect.😎
The guy that starts at 0:18 is amazing. I had to say that now (end of 2017). And Tims bass just rings in my ears, that's amazing, too. My finger is waiting for the repeat button. Great job!
For the love of bass, what note did Tim hit at the end? Avi did a boss job as well. Not knocking the other guys at all, they did amazing; but that bass...
The most impressive thing about Tim's last note was not even how low it is but how long he held it for I mean any note low or high is super impressive if it's held that long props Tim props
Is there some scientific explanation for the visceral reaction that so many of us have to bass voices? Avi, Tim, Richard Sterban, Eric Hollaway. . . . the drop from "normal" to bass is most moving [to me].
I love how Avi switches from a beanie to a cowboy hat at the very end, as if he's officially been converted... I'm right there with you, Avi -- this girl has never been a fan of country music, but HOT DANG you boys have completely made me forget that! Your album may have been on repeat for about 72 hours straight at this point...
My Dad, rest his soul, was a singer. His range was exactly like Avi’s. I miss his gentleness and soothing ways. He could stop a baby from crying by putting the baby’s ear on his chest and just humming. The vibrations would calm the baby and soothe it to sleep. God, I miss that man.
Okay, they are all great singers, but listening to Avi Kaplan... I just keep wondering how it is humanly possible to sing like that - I mean soft and clear as a ringing bell in high notes and then again this deeeeeeeeeep bass! Simply amazing :-)
I love this! After listening a few times, I became so impressed with the whole group. Super song! (Over 5.6 thousand tone deaf people couldn't appreciate this song and disliked it. So sad.)

EVERY single time I hear Ari growl "but the fire went wild" and Tim make that ultimate "of fire" resound, the hair stands up on the back of my neck. . . and I'm 72 years old. . .
Thanks for reminding me of the correct terminology -- I was speaking metaphorically when I used the verb "growl," because those bass brilliances make me shiver as if faced by a huge cat growling, unseen, in the night. . .

The Rinnnnnnnggggg.....OOOFFFFF FFFFFAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
@@chhangte_anp yeah right ahaha
Thanks!
Thank you
Don't forget the crazy growl note.
1:30 Tim should sing in this range more often. His tone is so rich and his riffs and "flourishes" I suppose are gorgeous. This is my favorite part of the whole song. He probably sings in this range more than I realize but that part was heaven sent.
SAME
1:43 also
Tim also does a duet with Chris Rupp (?) Long Black Train. Super low notes at the end too! Sooo good.
Can all us non-expert-vocal people just take a moment to appreciate whatever is that bass note at 2:15.
It’s a g1
Well, I don't know about the "non-expert" part, since I began singing at the tender age of 3-and-1/2 years old, and am still singing at nearly 65-years-old, but I have to agree with you about the bass note. However, I think a better term for these guys would be "professional" singers, since I am not a pro, but I would say I'm "well versed" as a singer. (No pun intended. LOL)
It’s a g1 growl, and it’s genuinely just a a perfect growl. Tim is amazing at growling.
@@jmgjmg3110g≠1 or A flat 1
That note at the end 😻😻
:-)
They still respond to comments on a 2-year-old video?
Impressive.
Yes that is how cool they are (am I right or am I right ?)
thats not made from his vocal cords, its from the growl when you clear your throat, hes trained that too sounding like notes
Joshua Black it's a growl isn't it?
Home Free and Pentatonix need to collab
I really want that to happen, or at the very least more avi and tim
jaret hill holy heck yes
you mean breed right?
+7380 But there's only one girl. Kirstie's gonna need to put on some work, lmao
TH-cam Passerby that's so true.
Not a Pentatonix fan but damn Avi in a cowboy hat, I get it now.
Tanya Winters well you don’t have to see Avi with pentatonix anymore
damn
@@theironmanderin9308 yea 😟 ;-;
And now his new music. Ptx, who? What? Yeah, NO.
Michele Gillespie I mean,it’s not like they kicked him out.He decided to leave.Lets not forget that he grew in Ptx.
She was crying happy tears as she told me about this magical evening that
Asher had spent with Home Free.
Often we don't see what a powerful small act of kindness can mean to someone.
Thanks again...
14 million views, I don't think it would be healthy to release how many times I have watched it
I'm back a week later.. About 4 times between that
I'm with you. I listening to this at least 4 times every morning before work so it will get stuck in my head. My coworkers can't figure out why I'm always in a good mood. :-)
mskard2 lel
Im back 2 weeks later :P watched it about 5-6 times in between ( more like 40)
I'm right there with you. I watch it 4-5 times a day. Can't get enough.
Avi Kaplan... you are a god in human form. And Tim, you impress me greatly. Well done gentlemen.
Little did they know that singing 6ft apart as a group was going to be a regular thing in 2020.
underrated comment (y)
😂
DYING!!!!! THIS COMMENT
@Jesse Mosgrove Dying [laughing]. This comment [is great]. relax
@Jesse Mosgrove The main one, the one I replied to and the one that all of these comments are under.
I’m so happy that this song is still getting love to this day
I love how Avi smiles while singing... 😊 And how Adam enjoy his part perfectly... 😊
Nice vibes...
This sound and harmony gives any musician chills.
Hell yeahh
So trueeeee
I watch this 2 years ago and when i watch this again
Yeah
It hits me so hard and wanna play bass hhahahahahaha
@Daniel Hartsell, and any singer as well.
Am I the only one thinks this song needs to be longer ? I think the last 800 views was me watching it over and over
Yes, it was way too short.
Some of those views are my kids asking me to play it over and over every day in the car 😍
I keep coming back to this particular video just for Avi. I love his deep manly voice and everything about him.
Hello Anita. How are you doing?
Hello Anita Bartos, how are you doing??
Hello Anita..
I love you guys and Pentatomix. I also love Acappella . I have even asked our music director at church to set up an Acappella group. You have inspired me with the hymns and the country music. Thank you to both groups. You have given me great enjoyment.
I came here for Avi and was not disappointed. But WOW. Home Free and Tim. Impressive! A lot of talent going on there.
Thea Myidt Thanks!! :-)
Avi and tim in the same song?! Magical
Avi and tim and geoff now that will be legendary
That's what we called superbass
The low frequency would tear the universe itself apart.
Crazy what a second bass does to the group.
My favorite version of this song... with Avi and Tim... doing their thing. Wow!
The magic of acapella is that you can listen to it so many times in so many ways and never get tired because you're always just so amazed at how so many sounds can mesh so well to come up with something beautiful
I will never get over 1:11. THAT IS OUT OF THIS WORLD! i love him so muuuch
I wish those two would work together more often. Every note is a pleasure. I was stoked this morning when allergies gave me super-bass powers, and I immediately opened this song so I could sing that last note with Mr. Foust. To have that kind of range and vocal athleticism...
angelicbeaver I don't believe you😂
Jk
I have proof! lol
th-cam.com/video/TXg5tRFHFTU/w-d-xo.html
Well ok 👌 😂
and could you?
The ultimate comment.. I let my grandpa listen to this, and he, a man that really does NOT like music, said yall were great and did great on this song.. And that man legit tells me every song I ever play him sucks and that I need to turn it off.. Yall killed it on this song, great job
Hello dear
Hello Raychel, how are you doing??
Double bass, great stuff.
Rex Cluff double the bass, double the awesomeness
one bass, one bass-baritone lol
Food their both bass, full basses
Tim and Avi, have amazing, strong, powerful, beautifull voices, never get tired of listening, but Avi's is sweeter!
he's higher pitch though, he actually has one of the highest pitch voices for bass singers
lichten witchen, But Tim Foust Can Go Deeper And Higher Than Avi Kaplan, Tim Foust's Biggest Bass ever was F#0 Whereas Avi Kaplan's is G1,Also,Avi Kaplan Can Go Only Till C#4,Tim Foust Can Go Higher
#TimFoust😍
Jackson Pavilion then search up avi hits an F#1 live!
AwesomeKitty 101 Poyi Chaakeda^ω^
AwesomeKitty 101 Yes, I Agree, But Avi Takes That Note In Grould Voice,So Tim Foust Wins^ω^^o^
Love, love this version of Ring of Fire . . . Can't get enough of Avi and Tim together!!

" Oh, his voice is really GOOOD"

I Love you random human bean for this comment
Fav comment, thanks for pointing those parts out
Shannon Lezama human beans are the best
Yay now I don’t have to keep rewinding to watch my fave parts! 😂
Every single time I watch this; where Avi gets super low for his part; "and the fire went wild" gives me goosebumps. So in love this
Yep, he does that. I'll be driving down the road, blasting the whole street with my reverb and I'll be the only one that knows I'm listening to Pentatonix at less than half volume and they're just getting the Avi effect.😎
I love Johnny Cash, and i am sure he would have loved this.
Amazing voices you all !
I swear to god, Avi and Tim are the two best on the planet. Nice to see them work together on a project.......need to see more of these two together.
Don’t forget Geoff Castellucci of voice play. He’s insane
Cannot swear on such things that are either subjective or apparent, my dude
there aren't too many with such tight harmony. Home Free is one of the best vocal bands today.
The guy that starts at 0:18 is amazing. I had to say that now (end of 2017).
And Tims bass just rings in my ears, that's amazing, too.
My finger is waiting for the repeat button.
Great job!
Why are not more people sharing this?
I have been on this earth for more than 6 decades and have seldom heard such talent as this!! ❤
I am not into country music, but this is absolutely fantastic. I am proud that Minnesota can produce so many great sounding voices.
Avi the guy with the black coyboy hat at the end is from CA
raideractress12 He's a guest, not one of the band members. Ever hear of Pentatonix?
BigBaron D
Oh, I get it now...but still very cool
BigBaron D I know. I am a huge fan of PTX thats how I knew he was from CA.
Johnny Cash is not country. I love country and I love Cash but don't confuse the two.
For the love of bass, what note did Tim hit at the end? Avi did a boss job as well. Not knocking the other guys at all, they did amazing; but that bass...
+Duane Wente G1 but he hit an F#1 on live
Those poor speakers lol
+Duane Wente #NoTreble
Sounds like a G1 to me.
+Kieran Kaempen Sounds like badass. lol
AVI'S COUNTRY VOICE
Yassssss
+Lauren Whitley you are everywhere
+Bomi Shinga it's a damn addiction
I feel ya
,xhxc s e weeq
Wow, to be sitting round that campfire when these guys stand and sing. Chills!
Hello Amsterdamsel, how are you doing??
Hello Amsterdamsel..
I think the bass duo with Avi Kaplan and Tim Foust are very cool, but what would happen if a trio with Avi, Tim and Geoff Castelucci were uploaded
The world would explode!
If the three of them sang at the same time it would open a black hole
It would reverse climate change.
The most impressive thing about Tim's last note was not even how low it is but how long he held it for I mean any note low or high is super impressive if it's held that long props Tim props
Hello Keith, How are you doing today?
Especially because it was growled. That technique uses a lot of air.
Hello Keith Mathson, how are you doing?
Yeah you're right, home free is a great Singer with good voices, okay tell me how long have you been home free fan?
@@davidlucas4889 since 7th grade im currently in my sophmore year of highschool
Is there some scientific explanation for the visceral reaction that so many of us have to bass voices? Avi, Tim, Richard Sterban, Eric Hollaway. . . . the drop from "normal" to bass is most moving [to me].
@Niranjan Rajesh have you listened to much of avi? he can do just as well with Tim .
Avi sounds amazing singing with Home Free! He looks great in a cowboy hat too
Hello Lisa
Hello Lisa Bork. How are you doing?
Hi Lisa Bork!
How are you doing?
Hello how are you doing hope you're doing great with your family may God bless you
Hello Lisa Bork, how are you doing?
As a fellow bass singer I have the utmost respect for these two gentlemen! Tim and Avi both are so incredible
AVI GETS TO SING WORDS.
a thing which makes me very emotional.
That Avi slide, combined with Tim's range!!!! PERFECT!!
My heart melts in that ring of fire every time I hear this song with these amazing voices! Every. Single. Time! Love Home Free! Love Avi, too!
Avi just blew my mind, that vocal shift was awesome!
What I've learned from this is I'm looking for a deep-voiced country boy. 😂
Bri A. Oh my god yes
Honestly 😂
oh, that voice!
Tim
To bad I'm a squeaker.
Hello Elizabeth..
The 2 bed basses I've ever heard and they're together in this video. Fantastic job!
*blinks* The 2 what?
Jennifer Gentry Maybe it's auto-correct for "best"?
Jennifer Gentry Yeah, it was supposed to be "best basses". Typo.
There are a couple of girls I know who think you had it right the first time :-)
No comment ^_^. I do fully agree they are two of the best basses around though.
Tim foust, gimme your vocal cords
pls
knifiac I love how you posted your comment and then decided it wasn't polite enough so you added a "pls" at the end lol
Scott Calo yea, there's a reason his last name is Foust, you don't get that kinda voice without some friends in very, very low places
I want Avi's. I'm so close to getting that low and smooth and then he finds another new note that is just just out reach
Knifiac Could listen to Tim 24/7! Incredible in "In The Blood"!
So sad.)

I don't normally listen to country music, but for some reason I keep coming back to this cover. it's just really cool. 😊

One of my top 10 fav songs of all time. I just wish it was a longer song
Well
EVERY single time I hear Ari growl "but the fire went wild" and Tim make that ultimate "of fire" resound, the hair stands up on the back of my neck. . . and I'm 72 years old. . .
Me too girl. This group and Avi got me back listening to acapella. Fantastic.
Lol he didn't growl it 😂😂 it was chested
Hey have a manner to whom you speak! Sorry ladies they meant that sound come from chest sound
Thanks for reminding me of the correct terminology -- I was speaking metaphorically when I used the verb "growl," because those bass brilliances make me shiver as if faced by a huge cat growling, unseen, in the night. . .
72 and still hairs on the back... (Joke)
