This was definitely a walk down memory lane! Our Woodland Mills HM130 Max has evolved from just a sawmill, to a cover, to a walkway, to a shed, to lights! It just kept evolving and we love it! We hope you enjoy watching this from the beginning! What was your favorite part of the build? 😁
Thank you! Sometimes you forget where you started when you’re so involved in the project! It’s been a long process, but so worth it! Thanks for watching! 😁
Thank you so much! Can’t wait to see how Marty and Julie’s mantel turns out! We turned the logs by hand for a long time- this winch is a back saver for sure! 😁
@@ourdreaminthewoods I’m getting ready to do an outdoor kitchen build. My Frontier can only milk 10 and half foot lumber. Should have bought the extension. Trying to come up with a way to mill longer beams.
Nice. It was a lot of work but worth it. If you had it to do over, would you have the roof extend out further over where you load the logs from? Another 2' would give you more room to stack the lumber that you have cut and still have it covered. Could you still load logs with the skid steer if that were the case? Thanks for the video. Great to see it all at once.
Thanks, Mike, that’s a good question. A lot of this sawmill shed has been an afterthought. I think I would leave the overhang the way it is and add another 12 feet to the end of the cover - opposite of the shed. We need to drop the elevation between the barn and sawmill shed to make sure it drains properly. Hard to tell what it will do to the approach to the mill. Those heavy beams are just harder to deal with- much easier when you can pack lumber by hand. Thanks so much for watching! 😄
Enjoyed the video & the music. You got it all done "a little by little, piece by piece'. Makes you wanna dance while you work😊. Just be safe, healthy, strong, discerning and successful. ☝🙏🙌💪
@@jerrygibs8120 Thank you, Jerry! We really appreciate your kind comments. We love that song, too - it’s so catchy! We’ve used it now, probably in 3 different videos 😂 Thanks so much for watching!
I loved this video, especially that slab for your bench. Well thought out. Wish I had a cat to lift timbers like you. That's where I'm struggling, trying to figure out how to lift big timbers up high and get them in place.
Thank you! Take a look at Kris Harbour’s Natural Building channel- he built a barn without heavy equipment. Might give you some ideas on how to lift Timbers without using heavy equipment. 😊
Great job guys ! It's dried in that's the main thing :) Big opening yes.. You will just have to keep the snow off, If your only going to be cutting shorter stuff just stand a 6+6 for support to make the opening smaller, Take it out if your cutting 24' long :) I have a 16 foot opening & my beam is two 6+6's one on top of the other then 5/8 plywood both sides :)) it won't break.
What a great video! I really enjoyed all the step by step info, you have given me alot of great ideas for upgrading things around my sawmill. Let me know if you need any help cutting longer beams we can cut up to forty-five foot long beams. The bigest beam we cut for our house is 18" wide x 28" tall x 44' long. feel free to reach out anytime I would love to show you what we did at our place north of Sandpoint.
Hi, Darren, we bought it. Check out Connext Post and Beam. That jig that connects to a small electric chainsaw is a little pricey but works great. Thanks for watching! 😄
What a blessing to have a mill specially in these times where are things so expensive I think it’s a great investment God bless
Thank you, Robert- it’s definitely been a game changer for us. Thank you so much for watching! 😊
Aww, little Bo! 💜
He’s grown so much since then!!! 😊
the board and batten siding turned out real nice!
Thank you! 😊
Can’t wait to see this type of video for the barn! 😊
That’s a ways down the road, but it will be GOOD! 😁
Very nice sawmill cover. Best one I've seen
Wow! Thank you so much! 😊

I love the excitement when the guys turned on the lights 😊
What a great recap! Lots of hard work shown in a short amount of time.
Yes, it is a great reminder of how far we’ve come! 😊
Nice job on the editing, Beth!!!
Thank you! It was a fun walk down memory lane! 😁
awesome job. Looks great
Thank you so much! 😁
Ya make it look like it was a long day. Nice flash back.
Sure would be great if all of this could happen in one day! 🤣 Thanks for watching, Tim!
Looks great , i figured you would have enclosed the other end to to protect the saw head somwhat
Nice! Thanks for sharing.

I think you made an amazing sawmill shed 👍. I seen you help Martin with a slab for a mantle. I especially like how you turn your logs.

Really nice build. I’ve seen a video by planks Mills, he milled a log that was longer than his mill.
Thank you!!Thanks for sharing, we’ll definitely have to watch that. Thanks for watching! 😄

Nice job on the roof and concrete. You look like an old hand at this. Beautiful.

Thank you! Wish I would have sized that beam a little bigger. Sounds like two 6x6’s with plywood would do the trick!! 😁
Looks amazing! The shelving is a nice touch!! Cheers from NS
Thank you! The shelves definitely help the space stay a little more organized. 😁
amazing work

Definitely. Especially, the older I get. Thanks for watching, Ian! 😄
Beautiful saw mill shed! You mind posting the dimensions? And what was the size of the lumber you used and how wide is the span for the front? Thanks!
Thank you! If you look in the description of this video, we share the specs of the sawmill cover. 😁
This chainsaw attachment you used to square cut the beams.. I need this! Did you make it or purchace it?
Tks
