- This week I've been out driving a Seat Ibiza 1.2 FR and finding out why it makes a perfect first car.
This little Seat Ibiza FR has great sporty looks, a cheap and reliable 1.2 litre engine which is only insurance group 12, £30 per year road tax and returns economy of 50+ mpg, all combined it makes a cracking car for a first car or as a daily driver.

This is a cracking first car. This and the fiesta are the most fun things on the road

I agree! If you have some more money to spend I would recommend a early 2017 one. It has the face lifted front and rear lights which looks stunning. Very good car, always a good car as a first and they are plentiful

@@pittmotoring haven’t owned one myself but I have seen them quite frequently aswell as been a papa get in one. Very smooth ride and is pretty much a polo but in my opinion better looking and quite a decent amount cheaper.

They are a smart looking car aren't they. To be honest it was a lot of fun. Surprising for a 1.2 and it was the way it handles, tons of fun.

1 test to pass and also my first car was a 2007 Ford Fiesta zetec. Recently found out it was cat n and we wasn’t told. So I’ve gone for a seat Ibiza Fr 2014 as my second car hopefully the right choice great video

Great economy during my few hours with it, mixture of town driving, b roads etc.. Which is a plus with the cost currently isn't it.
Ive recently brought a 2011 Ibiza sport 1.2tsi as my first car and it is honestly an absolute blast, only thing that comes close is the fiesta

I have the st diesel 1.2 TDI 2011 a great car.
im not sure about the FR version since insurance doesnt allow us to get it but the 1.2 TDI is great
in terms of reliability does this come close to a yaris? i'm stuck between the ibiza (which i like because of the shape and what i have seen) and the yaris (renowned for reliability, but starts crashing later on)
most cars are reliable as long as theyve been maintained and had the little issues fixed once they crop up and dont develop into something else.
I'm stepping down from a 3.2 V6 Audi A3 to this. Looking forward to it!
Big step down from that, will be slower.... a lot slower in fact unless you're going for the cupra 😎 still a fun cheap thing to drive
I’m thinking between the Vauxhall Astra 2012 or the Seat Ibiza 2011 for a first car. Which one would recommend me taking care taking care durability and reliability?
I believe the Ibiza would be cheaper to insure and lower running costs. Also the reliability is better than the vauxhall. Hope this helps.

Seems like a great starter car. Keep it stock for the first year or so, and start modifying it down the line
It would make a great first car. There are plenty of options around for modifying them too.
My first car was Toyota Corolla 1.3 1996 3 door, and now my actual car is a seat Ibiza fr 1.2 sc, 85hp but now has 130 only with stage 1 and is an amazing car to have for first time
