    I ve got the car for some time now and what I can say is that it is a fun car to drive, excellent mpg (avg. 47 after 1.5k miles) if you drive in eco mode with e pedal and YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT. Despite its size it handles easily as it was a girly toy car, but it also does 0-60 in 8 seconds(2wd) when it needs to, plenty of space and the Nissan connect app is great, comes with up to 5 year subscription. As a bonus if you get n connecta it is still falls into G road tax band which means you pay £180 p.a. For me it was a no brainer. Why Nissan X trail? Well, I cannot afford Nissan Patrol, plus they do not sell it here.

      How come did you have to pay £10k? It still should be under warranty as it is under 3 years old. Is this US version? This is made entirely in China as a joint 50/50 venture with a Chinese manufacturer, so it's not exactly 100% Japanese-built Honda reliability you're getting here. It's also ridiculously expensive list, although there are some great deals for Blue Light card holders (the top spec one can be had for £30000, which is £12000 off RRP). That represents good value I think.

    • @lw2978
      @lw2978 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@waynekerrr9027 I agree, I just did a 200 mile trip yesterday in my Audi A3 Etron (Plug-in hybrid) and was getting 64mpg, with EV mode for the town/city bits. So with its 9 gallon tank, I could travel around 575 miles. And most of my journeys are 20 mile round trips, so I just do these in EV mode having charged up from home overnight on cheap electricity (or for free via solar panels). I think an EV will come into my life but I'll give it a few years, when they've dropped to £25-30k for a 350 mile range car with fast charging (when hopefully the charging network has also caught up!)

    • @lw2978
      @lw2978 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@waynekerrr9027 Yep, I agree (at the moment!) I'm quite happy with my PHEV-did a 200 mile round trip yesterday and was getting 63mpg, whilst being in EV mode for the town/city bits. With a 9 gallon tank, that gives 567 miles range but a lot of my journeys are 20 miles total, so I can just leave it in EV mode and charge on solar power or use my overnight tariff. Cheap motoring! However, I think once EV's come down to £30000 for a 300+ mile/fast charging model, then I might be tempted. As this will be a few years away, the network might be robust enough to cope with the extra demand by then. We can but hope.🙂

    Australia here: our most expensive i have seen here in Queensland is about 30p per kw equivalent pricing. At home over night on my plan is about 4p per kw ($0.08 Au). I have been driving electric for 11 years and only charged outside 5 times. 3 just to test them. So in the long run, even paying the high price of 85p once in a while would be even out, so driving electric is still very economical the important thing is to get a good EV plan. mine for example offers free electricity between 11am and 2pm because Australia has so much solar power on house roofs.

    The public chargers I use most are Instavolt. But that is not because they are a great deal. I use them because they are pretty reliable, still have CHAdeMO, which my ageing van needs, but mostly because in East Yorkshire where I live they have put in most of the chargers. There are some BP pulse but I find them very unreliable and Pod Point which I will use in preference to Instavolt but there aren't many of them where i need them. If you find yourself charging away from home often, for whatever reason, it's worth a few minutes looking at Zap Map to see what is available in your area. While it's sort of fun and reassuring watching it the first few times, it's best to be charging while you're doing something else.

    85p per kWh is the (nearly) most expensive rate in the UK. Tesla Superchargers that are open to all EVs would be half that in their cheap rate - even cheaper if you take out a monthly membership. At 85p that makes an EV a similar price per mile as an ICE car. However charging at home for 7p per kWh overnight is about 2p per mile. Good review of the Torres, not seen one before.

    • @pittmotoring

    Hi from Australia, have purchased another CRZ (2014 model, 46,000 kilometres, one owner). Traded the last one five years ago on a Civic type R(2020 update) tenth generation which I found became an ordeal to get in&out of and the ride became a bit much while recovering from cancer treatments. The last car was a Mazda 3 which we were able to sell to release some cash and purchase another CRZ. On reacquaintance the CRZ is a far more enjoyable drive and the so-called lack of power is a myth. The handling is very balanced, steering direct, doesn’t need much braking as the regenerative setting sets up the car in bends or roundabouts and allows it to get through with a higher speed without having to rev the engine much beyond 3500-4000rpm. The cvt transmission allows relaxed driving and really doesn’t need manual shifting as it gathers speed above walking pace rapidly without having to balance clutch and brakes. Traffic light standing starts are not really relevant in normal driving wheras a smooth line is always faster and doesn’t attract police attention or cause accidents. The type R never felt special until at ridiculous speeds. True you could revel in the no slack steering and brakes and a precise gearbox but you would be noticing how badly the road is under you ( constant vibration and noise). The CRZ allows full deployment of the available power and pretty much runs away from most cars on the bends on a local “highway “that starts at sea level and rises over 600 metres on a 30 kilometre stretch. Ten years old, doesn’t rattle or squeak and achieves 50 mpg(imperial)around town, mid fifties on the highway. Brilliant mix. Cheers.

      Brilliant 👏🏻, firstly I hope things are well for you health wise in your recovery. The CRZ is a fun car, it's one I've been looking at purchasing at some point for a Daily driver/fun project car for myself.

    Everyone makes fun of me for having such a small car. And I’ve been happy with it for almost 9 years and for 6 of them I’ve been riding from Estonia to Bulgaria for 3000 kilometers without being at all tired.

    A good and realistic review, thanks! I'd just like to point out that you drove in B-mode,which is meant for regenerative braking down steeper hills rather than D-mode which is better for just tootling around and normal driving. I have the September 2022 version and regularly get a range of over 450-500 miles per tankful through mixed driving conditions, city, countryside and motorway (which eats into the range). Though I live in an urban area with a lot of hills I often get over 80 mpg if my journeys are mostly urban, sometimes comfortably over 100 mpg. The last time I got such fuel economy was on my 49 cc Honda Express (3 hp?) moped that I had as a youngster! It's a superb car to drive.
