@@natemonroe9168 right on bad boy mower man,I just got in the house from mowing the yard and busted fire wood 🪵 got to stay warm this winter. Thanks for the reply have a good one see ya bye.
I have this same mower. I'm on my second season and i love it. I baught it, because it looked like the front wheels and deck were built stronger than the others brands I compaired with. The pulley system is the most simple of all others I compaired with. I have abused this machine in cleaning up my three acre wooded hilly property. I have had to put on two blade belts because of running into heavy brush and getting big sticks over the deck. This machine has been awesome. A trick to changing the deck belt. Use a ratchet strap and go under the back and hook into the tension pulley, hook other end on back center and ratchet to pull the pulley back. When the machine is hot I use a small short chain with one hook to hang on the back to hook the ratchet strap into. This allows you to clear the hot exhaust and not burn the strap. Piece of cake, easy. I'm a retired heavy equipment mechanic and in my decision to buy this machine was simple design equals easy to repair. It is built heavy duty. Great reputation of everyone that had them. I had to have a roll bar, because of all the capers I have pulled down through the years it just makes sense. I would not buy one of these machines of any brand with out a roll bar.
Great info on the belt change, thank you! I had to have one with a roll bar and seat belt. This new property we moved to has hills and drop offs and I mow a lot by myself. I had looked at several before this purchase and the way this one was built was super heavy duty and extremely easy to get to every single thing on it. I'm very happy with the purchase.
@jmmybizzarri8273 I have never had any issues with any Kohler engines on my mowers. I had one zero turn that was a 2005 model and it never needed anything other than oil changes. I cut a lot of grass with it.
@jmmybizzarri8273 Kohler is top of the line. American made, very good product. The Kawasaki is no doubt a reliable engine. A lot of manufacturers use them. I bought the Kohler because all of my life they have produced the greatest reputation. In my book, they are an industrial standard that other manufacturers try to replicate.
@@namarhodge568 I agree. They are great. I'm not really sure why so many people have been wanting the kawasaki and considering the Kohler to be a downgrade?
I have an bad boy elite, I got the Kawasaki engine, very good mower, Only issue the hr meter quite working, cost about $50 bucks, I have the 54” deck and I took that rubber Shute deflector off, currently have the Shute blocker to chop leaves, It’s a loud mower but I always wear ear protection, Good luck with your mower,
@@natemonroe9168 I have the Shute blocker that bolts on in the holes that the rubber Shute is attached , my friend has the Shute blocker on his bad boy that is opened closed with a lever, Cost difference in about $100 more for the lever opening blocker Shute blocker works great I have a lot of leaves, does a great job of grinding them up,
@aaronschinlaub9704 it runs perfect. Lots of power. I've cut through 4 ft tall grass with it. Open the chute and go slow but it powers it out no problem.
Camera could be put there right way otherwise great review. Interesting hearing non-pro reviews for machines. Something like this should last practically forever for personal use.
Tires tear up to much grass for me. Non greasable spindles stink. Fuel tank to small for a big deck mower. Kawasaki 27hp is a beast of a motor. Very stout machine. Nice transmission. Deck is very durable too. 7 out of 10 for me.

This mower has been great. I have very steep slopes I mow with it and very tall grass sometimes and it just powered through it all.

What's are your thoughts on the kohler engine. More hp than the kawasaki and cheaper, but I don't know how reliable it is.

Put some grip tape on top of the deck to help keep you from slipping
Great idea. I'll do that

Everything greasable? Even the spindles?
the spindles are sealed pressed in bearings. I think those are better suited for a dusty environment.
@@natemonroe9168 especially if its not running 1,000 hrs a year... which your not doing with a sub 15k dollar machine anyway
Bogey wheels & spindles aren't greasable either

Yea I always hold my phone upright. I don't have the habbit of holding it in landscape view. I've dropped it that way 😅

For my setup and personal use with these hills I have, anything less aggressive on tires you just slide right to the bottom.
