🤯 That was insane! The game threw everything at you, it wanted you dead, but you said 🖕F YOU! NOT TODAY! 20 special kills 😮. You are The ANGEL OF DEATH!
I hate Zoans like the other guy, but Zoans are non issue when you have half competent tactical/heavy/sniper in the team. Especially sniper. So to be fair, game should not be balanced for solo play, especially lethal.
@bruterasta totally agree. I just leveled my Vanguard to 25 during the community event and have been running lethal. What I meant was, I now see the benefit of the health recovery perk. I main assault so have been addicted to the shield regen non finishing gun strike thing, but now I see how this works if you can get volumes of executions up to the level he rolls at. Work to do. Or as he would say "magazine out, magazine in".
That sequence before the base where you fought 2x Lictors, Ravener, a sea of warriors, all after nearly being deleted by double thrope filth beam was somethign else. Incredible stuff dude. Occulus to me is still a bit shit. I wish vanguard had the regular bolt carbine.
Oculus bolt carbine is my go to for vanguard, volkite side and fencing combat knife. Best and fastest load out for a vanguard assassin. You want that perk that makes ranged after a dive kick 15% more shredding. Dive kick, unload smg in face, execute, repeat. Oculus also has a zoom, so it’s decent semi ranged. I dunno why people say this gun sucks, swear people just repeat bullshit without thinking or trying it themselves.
I was one of those people and i was SUPER wrong lol. I just got it to relic and it's my favorite gun on vangaurd. Although i only use it for chaos missions but boy does it kill chaos fast and because the contested health is so good with this weapon you can stand there and trade shots with chaos marines and win.
Its still underwelming. Its magazine size, ammo reserve, and clear ability just don't compete with the top tiers like grenade launcher, melta, or las fusil. I've maxed out all characters and most weapons, I think they are all incredibly fun, but its is a night and day difference if I'm playing tactical, heavy, or Sniper. If all 3 are on a squad it doesn't even feel like were playing the same game as the other classes. Zoanthropes/Neurothropes and other things like Carnifex die almost instantly, vs a long 5 minute fight for some other classes. The mission is orders of magnitude faster. The vanguard is fun zipping around, but he just isn't as impactful as a class and using his weapons. He needs something more to feel as powerful as the top tiers. Maybe an extra grapple charge and on arrival it has a similar blast wave as assaults air slam. He needs a buff that large because the gap in ability is that large. Even 1:1 Vanguard melta vs tactical melta, its tactical all day. His perks, auspex scan, and parried enemies get scanned perk help incredibly well in all of the games scenarios. Hell I'd even give Vanguard even more buffs. Let him grapple air enemies to hurt them and bring them to the ground for a little bit. Then with all that I'd say vanguard was equal to tactical or heavy...
@thepunisherxxx6804 while i agree that vangaurd definitely needs a buff, especially for his grappling hook. They buffed assault jump pack slam to do way more damage. I feel like the vangaurd's grappnel launcher kick should explode on impact with the damage of a frag grenade. Right now it doesnt kill anything it just stuns them for a bit. But for the occulus bolt carbine of the three options you have as vangaurd its the most versatile and it actually performs way better against chaos than the melta. The melta is king against tyranids for sure but the occulus is a beast against chaos marines.
@@thepunisherxxx6804 I think vanguard needs to get rid of the “almost dead” perks and replace them with close range bolt weapon dmg perks. And a couple more full auto weapons. He should shred and close range to help utilize his class ability.
Wait a minute, that thing has a 35 round magazine, single fire or fully auto, and a regular aim OR scoped aiming? With 250 rounds in reserve?! This looks pretty rad, I might go back to Vanguard and level this up once I finish my Tactical, this looks really well-rounded
The tactical has an smg too. Its the bolt carbine which actually has a bit more damage than this version within 10 meters. But in my opinion this gun works better on vangaurd because of the grappling hook
This is my favourite class and build, and I can match this more or less play for play - EXCEPT accumulating enough damage on the Zoans. That said - I was relieved to see even Guardsman repeatedly millimetres from death fighting them (with a couple of lucky spots). Amazing gameplay. May try altering my Occulus tree to match this one also
Director really made "Are you not entertained?" move on you with this game. This is like lethal should feel like all the time IMHO - drowning and surviving by the skin of your teeth.
I was definitely sleeping on this weapon but after the new buffs 15% in 4.1 and 1.33x headshot modifier it is a beast of a weapon. Although i had much better success with it against chaos.
If you have the rev it up perk on the chain sword you can cancel the rev early and it counts as a combo swing allowing a short cut to the shoulder and stomp. Pretty easy to feel the timing on a controller not sure about m&k
@@BrentTidemann You should find it you search for "Full Throtle skip". Super useful. And good on you for noticing, you're more aware than most watching/playing. It's also easy to do on m&k if that's your input.
@BrentTidemann its called the "full throttle skip" basically to do the shoulder bash on second hit. it's hold hold. But the first hold is not super long so that you go into the actual full throttle animation its like hold for just long enough where he looks like he's going into full throttle and let go and then hold again. To do the stomp you can do hold - press - hold. You have to practice it but in my opinion i like the normal kick combo better. The full throttle skip shoulder bash is just a little too slow for me.
Not sure about with sniper, but I've been trying it on tactical and it honestly feels pretty great as a close to mid range option so far. Absolutely shreds majors and extremis, especially with the free scan on parry and extra damage after gun strike perks
I use the smg bolt carbine on sniper to change it up a bit. It's a close range fight style. Basically everything is the same perk wise except you take melee mastery and ambush +100% melee damage out of cloak and get shadow stab on your combat knife. Then you locate a majoris and stealth > shadow stab > fire smg rounds into their face
Is the Full Throttle skip really all it's cracked up to be? Everyone says it's the bees knees but I don't really see the benefit of it. Plus I'm not great at memorizing combos with specific inputs.
Yes, it's that cracked. It moves chainsword from A to S+ tier rivaled only by thunderhammer + assault combo. You get way more stomps and on route to get full throtle perk you also get more splash perk, it's no brainer really. There is also nothing to memorize you just hold first attack a little longer and that's it. You'd want to use with every class so it's not niche move. My favourite usage of it, outside obviously hord clearing, is to use it pre amptively when couple double sword majoris are moving towards me with blocking stance. Stomp breaks the block stance and stagers them. I rarely can pull it off normally but with full throtle skip I'm able to do it consistently. I also do it from behind the cover so I can peak into staggered enemy and not risk being insta sniped up close for example.
@@JustaLamborghiniCountachWhoCom Animation cancels, combo skips etc. almost never get patched because they usually have a slightly higher skill ceiling and add more depth to the gameplay. Look at General Grievous jump attack canceling in Battlefront 2 or power sword charge up push block canceling in darktide as an example.
@@FirstTourGuardsman Interesting... I'll try it out on my Tactical / Vanguard. I love the Power Fist too much to let myself use anything else on Assault lol.
Its great to use as a gap closer too since shoulder bash kind of dashes go the enemy. Although i feel like its pretty situational. I prefer the normal kick combo on single target because its a bit faster than full throttle skip to shoulder bash. When you're swarmed though full throttle skip to double stomp is godly.
I think you had to work harder in this vid than most others because of these weapons, just not quite enough punch so couldn’t clear quick enough and prevent reinforcements. Holy zoanthrophes tho 😅
For tyranids its not as good as the melta. But for chaos the occulus is way better than instigator and melta. Because the uptime for killing is way higher since the gun has a reload on finisher perk. Plus the headshot bonus gets crazy with such a fast rate of fire. Grapple into chaos marine and smg shots to the head. They are in execute before they recover from the stun. Then your gun auto reloads and you can just grapple to the next one and do the same thing. When grapple is down i like to shadow stab to use as a gap closer/stun and then do the same thing

1. Absolute masterclass on using parry to buy time to position instead of immediately gun .striking. 2. Proof Zoans are far worse than Neuros

Great! Now do this again, for every mission, while I follow you around like a hungry puppy.
Man, that level 25 perk in this class is insane when you play it. You have every system down completely. Loved this. More assault content please!
Vangaurd take a lot of damage and has only two bar of shields. So he kinda need it to sruvive given he supposed to be played up close.
