After half an hour or so, i was able to remove the stripped screw. It took time to pinpoint the head of the screw with the rubber band. Also, I tried 3 or 4 screwdrivers before finding the right one. But I finally removed it. Thank you for the tips.
I didn't have a rubber band so I took a balloon and folded it in half to create the thickness of the rubber band. Although it didn't work with a Phillips screw driver, I used a flat head and it worked perfectly! Thank you so much for the tip! My screw was pretty badly stripped but for others that have stripped a hole through their screw all the way to China, you may have to fill the stripped hole with solder, and then solder a small thin rod on top of it, turning the rod to turn the screw once it's been soldered on to the screw.
Does anyone know this feeling when you remove 9 screws without breaking a sweat and get stucked at the one last screw??? I'm in pain God Help me. That fucker won't even be loose. UUUGGGHHHHH!!!!!! 😭😭😭
You need a thicker rubber band. I JUST used this method with a completely stripped iphone screw, that was ridiculously over-tightened, and it worked great.
This was an EXCELLENT technique for removing 1 or more stripped screws from (in this example) a cell phone. On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being best) it has my vote as a 10...
This won't work unless the screw is loose in the threads and the head isn't missing. Otherwise if top of screw shaft is exposed you can create a slot by file, saw, or grinding with thin dremel disk, and then unscrew it with a straight blade. If shaft is below surface and big enough to drill a hole in with a tiny (1/32") #70-ish hobby drill bit, then try a star/spline screwdriver slightly bigger than the hole. It might push in far enough to bite and unscrew it, otherwise the spline tip can be tapered by file if need be to improve bite (but it does ruin the spline driver). If all else fails, the last hope is to drill the screw out with a bit diameter that fits within the size of threaded hole. Try to stay centered in the threads so as not to ruin them. Clean out the screw threads after with a bent pin or metal dental pick until new screw will go in freely. Damaged threads can be cleaned up with a makeshift tap made from a good screw. Clamp screw head in vise-grips and saw lengthwise slots on opposite sides of the screw tip extending back 3 or 4 threads. Keep the screw aligned to prevent cross-threading it and those slots will tap out bad threads well enough to accept a new screw.
I really didn't think this was going to work, so you can imagine my surprise when it did! I'm glad too, because I really wasn't looking forward to trying to find a drill bit tiny enough to use the drill method with.
This works great. For those who are complaining that it doesn't because the screwdriver pierces the rubber band, use a thicker rubber band. Common sense people.
Okay so i have three stripped nails on the back and they will not come out (1 on the top left, and 2 on the bottom right) and i really want to fix my phone so do you think i can just pull apart the Lcd screen? my digitizer is what is cracked and the new one i bought comes with lcd screen so i wouldn't mind if it cracked. i have a galaxy s2 d710 by the way
See I have this iphone 5... My friend gave it to me because it wasn't charging but now her had a new iphone5. He gave it to me yesterday and I looked at it, I looked at the bottom where the screws are. One screw was already removed and the other was in there. The screw that was in there was broken, the head of the screw is gone so the only thing that's left is the swirly things on the screw. I have no idea what can be used or done to remove it. Please respond to my comment. Thanks you for reading.
Guys, I am having problem removing a ps3 controller stripped screw which is quite deep too. So, do you guys have any other idea to remove it, because rubber band is not quite reaching there. Thanks!
theses screws are starting to annoy me. they have no head and tryed this method and nothing the screwdriver just goes through the band. wow the Nokia 520 screws are so stupid and how can it be so hard to get a tiny screw out omgosh.
Pentalobe screw 0.8 wont come out with this method on iPhone whrn 1 screw stripped. I can’t open it with rubber band trick electrical tape. Screw so tiny need a magnifier. Think repair man stripped screw when he replaced my screen but I can’t prove it. Was months ago. I’m Not game to try super glue . Anyone tried that on iPhone ??
You picked on the easy screw. How about showing your genius on getting the first 2 screws of an iPhone 6+ to be able to open the case? I can't even see the screw to tell which screwdriver to use. I was told a 0.8 pentalobe, but that doesn't do it.
Didn’t work, I found an easy way. Tools Tiny/Accurate knife Glue. Cut of the outer part. Cut out the screw. Glue it all together. Do the takeshi’s Challenge meme from Johntron but replace the game with the screws
. Rubber band didn't work and neither did super glue. I never opened my phone before so evidently it came from the factory that way. One top of that it's only the two screws right next to the camera, so there's no way of breaking the edge off. It's bad enough that phone companies make the batteries so hard to replace but now they're resorting to this crap to get you to buy a new $600.00 phone.

Phillips screws should be banned from technology.
sega310982 down with phillips. They strip too easily.
I have the same problem in mi new 3ds
allan keys all the way.
XD i know how to replace the headphone jack in my 2ds AND my volume control but ONE STRIPPED SCREW is preventing me
2ds screw instantly strip and it's a nightmare

doesn't work. the screw driver pierces the rubber band and makes a hole.
Mine worked
This was such a life saver!! I tried for 30 mins to get two screws out and this finally did the trick!
Does anyone know this feeling when you remove 9 screws without breaking a sweat and get stucked at the one last screw??? I'm in pain God Help me. That fucker won't even be loose. UUUGGGHHHHH!!!!!! 😭😭😭
That’s what I’m going through rn! Jeez! I’m frustrated
Did it worked??
im going through this RNNNNNN
I LITERALLY BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND I GOT STUCKED AT THE LAST SCREW
Im trying to change my Phone display and i have the same feeling rn
This does not work unless its minimally stripped. Rubber band always end up with a hole.
Yep. I only successfully poke holes in rubberband. I need some more methods to try...
You need a thicker rubber band. I JUST used this method with a completely stripped iphone screw, that was ridiculously over-tightened, and it worked great.
Couldn't find a rubber band, but nice technique. I folded some masking tape in half a couple times and used that. It did the trick for me!
This was an EXCELLENT technique for removing 1 or more stripped screws from (in this example) a cell phone. On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being best) it has my vote as a 10...
My screw was completely messed up and this worked perfect. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I was so frustrated in trying to get a screw out of my Vivofit to replace the batteries! The rubber did the trick!
You legend. After using kitchen knives, scissors, fork and spork ends this actually works! Thank you!
This method works if u find it too difficult try using black electrical tape but the rubber band works spot on

Wow, didn't expect this to work, tried it, gave up.. Then realised that it had actually loosened it! Kept going and voila!
Thanks!
It worked.
I am celebrating with this comment.
Works great for me! I stripped that screw into oblivion and it still worked! Thanks!
it didnt work for me it i think cause i stripped my screw now its stuck in it with a perfect circle were it supossed to be
wow this actually worked, once in a lifetime an indian tech support on youtube solved my issue?
I really didn't think this was going to work, so you can imagine my surprise when it did! I'm glad too, because I really wasn't looking forward to trying to find a drill bit tiny enough to use the drill method with.
Worked perfectly! I was about to give up, thanks
work it did not, disappointed i am.
Desmond Conway Try a thicker rubber band.
PHONEDOCTORS Answered like this, you should have..
Desmond Conway Thicker rubber band, you should try
+Desmundo Connor dude this is obviously the dumbest way to do it.
The force isn't very strong with this one...
looking for a good screwdriver set. which one are you using in the video or are currently using?
This works great. For those who are complaining that it doesn't because the screwdriver pierces the rubber band, use a thicker rubber band. Common sense people.
Really ... you are a super doctor.. it is worked

thanks sooooooooooooooooooooooooomuch
Safed? It's saved. You must be from the U.S. Just sayin".

freaking great thank you sooooo much your the best keep it up
Great tip/video - just FBd, Tweeted and shared with a friend in need. Thanks
@PHONEDOCTORS This is beautiful to see, but unfortunately, my 1.5mm Y-Screws are stuck down at the bottom of a loonnnggg ditch-type hole😪😪😪😫
Did not work, but using a LARGER Phillips screwdriver with extra force, absolutely worked!!
Mine one worked even though there was a hole in one of them!

Maybe use a drill and drill through the middle of the screw and then maybe it would work

What type of screw is that?
I need to change my fitbit band an one of the screws is striped. I tried you method but it didn't work. Any other ideas?

Guys, I am having problem removing a ps3 controller stripped screw which is quite deep too. So, do you guys have any other idea to remove it, because rubber band is not quite reaching there. Thanks!

Darude- Sandstorm
+Lee Wolf Old meme, not funny or helpful.
The screw on my iphone 5 stuck!!!
Screwdriver for a T3 screw is so tiny and sharp, goes right through the band, not helping at all.
EFon Sanguinbull did you have any success afterwards? If so how?
It worked!!!!
You picked on the easy screw. How about showing your genius on getting the first 2 screws of an iPhone 6+ to be able to open the case? I can't even see the screw to tell which screwdriver to use. I was told a 0.8 pentalobe, but that doesn't do it.
