Hey, I had the same problem exactly but I tore the backplate off and removed the screw with little pliers. But I still have one more screw stripped on the side that prevents me from replacing a new backplate. Did you take out the screw and how?
Just today when I received my screw extractor for m2 hex screw which is totally damaged, i watched this video accidentally :( I will try to use the extractor first then this method will be my last resort if the extractor didnt work out. Thanks anyway!

If you have Samsung s4 , just follow the steps shown on this video, it should help you to remove them.
