Putting monetization first will only lead to disappointment. It is always safer to use TH-cam as a stepping stone whilst having a bigger picture in mind.

Actually the point of monetization is not just "monetization" for the sake of it. Getting monetized on TH-cam means you've hit the threshold of having an actual audience that you can promote stuff to that can then lead to sales or donations. Without it, that means you don't have the audience, which means no $.

Rpm is simply determined by your gendered audience and age. And how long your videos are the longer the video the better and this is also super important the geography of said audience

The final bit should be a TH-cam short because more people need to know that a TH-cam channel and creator need to make money outside of the TH-cam Adsense Program if they intend to go full-time. Great video! :)

Among my 4 faceless yt channels, 2 of them are monetized after 10 months but one of my non monetized channel earns more than monetized one. I think choosing right niche is the most important part to become successful on yt.

Your maturity and wisdom was evidenced with the comment "their house, their rules". I find it rich when my Uber driver complains about their cut. Ok, do it on your own without them. Right, you can't. It's the same mentality that makes any tradesman think they can start their own side hustles and not just settle for what their company pays them. They quickly learn it is not that easy. Serious question, with the new implement of TH-cams "does this video contain ai created content" will you be doing a follow up video reporting on any monetary changes the ai created or faceless channels vs human channels difference in earnings? I suspect it will have some impact on this
TH-cam makes sure to boost up the channels that aren't monetized, but once channel gets monetized then youtube starts destroying it, either under 500 or around 2k views TH-cam flatlines views, never to rise ever again, even with above 95% like/dislike ratio and 80%+ audience retention it WILL STILL GO DOWN, also RPM goes below 0.4$ if it was 0.9-1.2$. All that from my own personal experience and also by judging my friend's channels as well, same results.
Only luck works on youtube, just pray for youtube to blow your channel up if they want to.
I agree 100%. Latest TH-cam strategy is to give beginner channels one complementary blow up video which, if you do not make the requirements within a year, destroys your channel. When you lose so many watch hours in such a short period of time, for me it was 2500 watch hours, the algorhythm sees your channel as a tanking channel and stop recommending your videos to a wider audience. It makes that daily fight to out do your performance on each day, a year ago, double so hard. To start TH-cam now is a crazy game unless, like the commentator said, TH-cam decides for no apparent reason to blow your channel up.
A bunch of pathetic people still spam the quote "don't give up", "keep grinding" or something like that, lmao
Most of my videos get to around 1k and then suddenly die, get no more views, it makes no sense
@@divatalk9011 it makes sense. TH-cam is a game and the algorhythm is set (I believe,). In that time that people struggle to get monetize TH-cam takes 100% of the add revenue.
Why if you have made 4000 watch hours must it be taken back if you did not make 1000 subscribers in a year? To fight with your own performance a year ago on a daily basis is impossible. I need my token exploding video now not when the algorhythm dished it out to me. At this rate it is going to take me another 2 years before I am monetized.

I can say that even a very small channel such as mine, can get some decent rpm. I say to all small channels keep moving forward, Growth is Growth even if it's slow. You will have times when it will pick right up, then slow down again. Keep doing what you do and you will see results.

My advice in 2024 is not to begin a channel aimed at children, you won't make a fraction of what others channels do.
I do make 2k a month with a channel aimed for kids and I just started earning

The last part on Manny Ortiz's youtube ads income making up only 10% of his total income is similar to my experience. 90% of my channel's income comes from affiliate sales and sponsorships.
Don't focus on things that's outside of your control, and focus on what you can control. You need to diversify. If you hold enough influence in your niche you can make people buy stuff that you promote.
At least you tell the truth....My best revenue is from my ads ...I still can't crack TH-cam

A small anecdotal data point to add for you, but for me in my niche - cars, in the last 90 days CPM has been £3.61. So it's not bad, but it ain't finance.

As you showed in the video, the RPM depending on the video can differ quite a lot. So depending in your niche, maybe it's good spreading your wings and trying out different concepts within said niche if you want to get a higher RPM?
So far that's not a big issue for me, got about 940 subscribers + a couple thousand watch hours before that's anything I have to worry about.

I’m in the automotive sphere and have been making videos for 15 months. 34 videos in total. 5700 subs, monetized after 4 months and have a CPM that hovers between $19-28.

Gaming TH-camr, average RPM $5.12, videos range from low $3.50 to high $5.50 with no real outliers so it's pretty consistent.

It’s sad that people like me (animators) only make on average what a gaming channel makes (not a lot), the reason it’s sad is we spend so long animating and don’t get much back from the time we spend.
