The man works hard, using his brain every working day solving problems in a practical manner in all weather. The country needs men and women like him. You are a credit to yourself, your family and an example to us all.
Some people are judgmental idiots, placing themselves above hardworking, highly skilled craftsmen. If they would ever stop and ask themselves if they had the knowledge, skills, talent and physical stamina to create the buildings they take for granted and call home, they might feel some degree of shame. There is such a thing as honor and integrity and Izzy here is a prime example of such a person. I would feel extremely proud to call him my friend.
You are spot on. I’m a bricklayer for 23 years and I have a friend who thinks that he’s smarter than me because he has a degree in marketing but never worked in it. He works in a bar but always drops his degree into conversation
Good on ya' young man. You are a hard grafter, and deserve all the fruits of life that lay ahead of you. I don't think you'll need it, but I'm wishing you the very best of luck in the pursuit of your goals. Hopefully we'll see those achievements through your videos... keep 'em coming!
Been in construction for nearly 30 years time served plasterer and electrician now a general builder always enjoyed doing something different every day couldn’t handle just plastering etc turned into Groundhog Day over and over, everything you said about construction I found spot on and I wouldn’t be where I am today without taking the best bits from everyone I’ve worked with, keep doing what you love was always told find something you love and you’ll never work a day in you life and how true that is ❤️
You always come across as a good solid bloke, someone you could have a drink & a laugh with, thats half the battle won & you vids are interesting too lol. I’ll still be watching in 5 years no doubt!
Izzy young man what a brilliant put together Q&A. Answers well thought out and from the heart. Brilliant advice to up and coming bricklayers and a great insight into your life so far and into the future. You will always have a follower here supporting your adventures. Thanks for the video
Top bloke you Izzy as wish I would of got a trade ,joined the Army as you know ,joined the Parachute Regiment ,Good to see a insight into your life mate ,Respect mate
Nice one Izzy. Really enjoyed hearing about your back story. I was aware of some of it, of course. But great to hear about your future plans and give sound advice to any youngsters thinking about bricklaying. You've earned yourself a beer after all that! 🤔 Yeiamas!🤣
Love your content! Me sitting in my warm home watching you laying bricks is just so relaxing, maybe one day I will try out construction since I love building stuff
Bricklayer here, worked all over the world Ireland, all over England, France, Canada, Australia, USA, New Zealand and back to London. All laying bricks. Met some great people, lots of idiots too, drank lots of beer always had enough money for a few beers and a steak sandwich n chips. There’s easier ways to make money for sure but I couldn’t do factory work or look at a computer screen all day
Becoming a trades person is not an easy path to follow and you're right there's pressure from all walks in life, especially your parents I missed out but I had to follow my dad's way of thinking did college then Polytechnic and then I was left alone to do what I wanted. Sometimes I wished I'd stuck to my guns but my generation had too much respect for our elders and for them education was important..well said and yes I agree with you there's stigma from certain sectors of society who still look down on trades to me it's magical how people do the work and it's clever too..I'm OK with having missed out however I'm a decent DIY bloke done plumbing carpentry and had a few go's at bricklaying as well.
Smashing video mate, interesting to hear your story, your hopes and aspirations.....Just one negative for me Izzy....The background music, doesn't need it, drives me mental.....I'm fine just listening to you talk.....Saludos desde España mi amigo.
Look at everyone who’s 50. Fucked backs, wrists, elbows etc. no pension, rained off snowed off materials not ready, lifts not ready, forkie down. Rates at the moment are some of the worst anyone’s seen slogging away at 600/1k, no extras for all the shite you do. Fuck that, go uni or just do something else !
@@wumpty93 theres hardly any enjoyment in it anymore, atleast for site work anyway you are just slogging away all day everyday just to make a living. robotic.. would tell any kids to stay well clear
Exactly why I’ve called it mate,..I was considered a neat tidy trowel by others but still it does not pay to be neat and tidy, fast and rough will always win unfortunately. The trade is fucked along with many others glad I’m out
@@kingofthetrowel1725 don’t blame you mate. Can’t expect nice neat high quality work on these site prices constant stress to get finished or ahead. Robotic. No love in it anymore. All the best to you fella
University is so overrated in many trades. I do think a person wanting to become a doctor, lawyer etc needs to finish it but there are trades like IT and so on that doesn't need it. Start at lower level entry jobs and work / learn to advance.
I can hear all the women crying when you said you were getting married. 😆Seriously though, if only every young man was like you the country, would be in a far better place pal.
Something different and a journey to look forward to. Don't take us wedding or baby shopping though please Izzy.. there's only so much change from normal man stuff that we can take 😂
More like DON'T go to UNIVERSITY - DONT BE A BRICKLAYER! Worst trade out of all of them. You get more money doing your hours in a factory than doing this shit.

What about the possibility of finding old building and renovating it and documenting it might help you grow

Skinny jeans though 😳 I guess you are too busy to go shopping - skinny jeans went out a couple years ago 🤷🏻♂️
Would like to see a photo of the Izzy being mistaken for a fat Cyprus girl, someone should have gone to specsavers.
