Often times you just have to find out for yourself and draw your own conclusions. Thanks for the comment brother. Stay safe out there.

Hey Anthony, I’m a new subscriber to your channel. I’ve been talking about getting my CDL B, for quite a while. And a couple buddies of mine have their CDL’s. One drives an 18 wheeler for Fed/Ex and makes good money, has good benefits and lots of perks. He’s been with them about 7 years. The other has his CDL B, driving a dump truck, for a small business owner. He said where he works, its a gateway to other opportunities, for just having a CDL B. At the time, About a year ago, I was really focused on getting my CDL B. So my buddy said his place would train & certify me ONLY if had my learners permit. I lunched on it and now, companies that would normally train and certify new drivers, CANT ANYMORE. New rules and regulations by the govt and (PA)state, went into effect, so now I have to goto a credited CDL school for my CDL B to drive a dump truck. I took my permit test (general knowledge & Air brakes) at the DMV one time and didn’t really do too good but every once in a while I’ll pick up my CDL book or test myself on some Apps to keep my mind fresh. Anyways, I guess what I’m trying to say is, I want to get my CDL B and then maybe later on get my A. But what I’m wondering is, I’m 50, no experience with driving trucks, fuel prices are still pretty high…so you think I’ll have a shot at getting hired once I get my CDL? This dump truck place pays their drivers about $230/day or about $23/hr, overtime is called premium pay, no 401k, steady work year long, snow plowing contract, weekends off and home every night. I’ll keep ya posted. Keep on trucking and making these TH-cam videos! I’m hooked!!!👍🏼🚚
ups hires off the street for feeders and sleepers. Depends on the terminal size. only thing is if your hired full time permanent they have to offer you 40 hours a week whether thats driving or in the warehouse you will be in the warehouse for the slow season though and get whatever top rate is in the warehouse and you can pass on work. I got my cdl in July btw. UPS in the long run is best.
Thanks man, it was a hard decision to make but after seven years grinding in the food service game, me and my body felt it was time to switch gears a lil bit, and see what Wally World talking bout.
You're not getting a bag at Walmart it's a scam I just quit there after 7 months was going to wait until the new year but couldn't take it anymore. They get you to come there for the 110k but when you get to onboarding the tell you not to chase the money. As soon as I heard that I should've left. The only people who got it good are the dudes who've been there for 20-30 years and they are not retiring anytime soon. Being new you will either be on a program of 5-2/5-3, 6-3 or extra board. I ran out of Sealy, TX and it was dudes there for 6 years and still didn't have their own truck working on the extra board. I started on 6-3 work 6 days off 3 and wasn't making anything close to 100k, I was making from $2700-3000 max every two weeks. Don't let the numbers fool you, I was making $1400 a week local Walmart pays bi-weekly. I switched to the extra board because it was a 5-2 schedule thinking I would make more money which I did but when you're on the extra board you have to get whatever truck is available. Walmart has good automatic freightliners trucks which all the old heads drive and raggedy Peterbilt's that new or extra board drivers drive. Every week I had to wait until one of the managers do a yard check at 0730 but my pull time is 6 for a opened truck. The managers don't know shiet, I often was given trucks either in the shop or were not even there and I learned to call the shop before I look for trucks. Coming from JB Hunt Walmart trucks are trash, I know drivers that drive those trucks with the 'check engine' light on with warning sound ringing. My last load they wanted me to take a new International up to Sanger mind you it takes a awhile to load all of your belongings and then drive to Sanger and jump into another truck and load it. Fck that I quit. Walmart is not trying to keep drivers they will fire you for anything. You get 5 writeups which they call steps in a year and you're gone. If they catch you not doing a 360 around the truck they will call you in to make you miss money and write you up. Walmart is a snitch culture you can't trust any of them dudes, if you see any do everything by the book. You have to ask yourself if dudes was really making 100k would Walmart have onboarding every week?
Hey Anthony, good video and good advice bro. I work for a contract carrier for FedEx Ground and that is a good job also. I think pilot / flying J would also be a good company along with Air products with their tanker cryogenic division
You definitely preaching in this video about once you switch companies and climbing the later! I've done that here at Schneider love my set schedule that I've worked for! I start Mondays around noon & home Friday midday! I get to take my 2023 cascadia home truck home! Gotta weight the pros & cons & do what's best for you ya know! Walmart is on my list, I want to get into oversized loads or tanker hazmat
Bro I do foodservice work 60 hours a week after my benefits and retirement plus union dues I make 2900 take home every 2 weeks and the heaviest item on the truck is soda boxes
Yeah ups they hired me off the street in ny for feeder driver but only as a part timer like 16-20 hours a week @ $35 an hour takes years to get on the full time side.
Thanks for the good info. Could you do a video on best companies/opportunities for people just getting their CDL with little to no experience? I'm looking to get mine and currently working as an Amazon delivery driver.
I worked for Amazon before as a CDL Driver. They paid 1050$ per week for working three 13.5hrs shifts Was so simple and easy. Every was done electronically. I left just because I couldn’t work weekends anymore but yes get into it if you don’t mind working weekends. The best way to explain the Amazon is you’re a yard dog for the streets. Nothing but drop and hook
@@Avila_The_3arber sounds pretty nice tbh. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any Amazon subcontractors or however they do it that are hiring in my area :(
I was a seasonal driver helper for UPS... And was about to transition into becoming a driver with just being with them for 2 month... But you have to be really good and a fast learner otherwise they won't even look at you. Folks was already getting cut because the season was coming to an end... but they kept a few of us on.
I drive for Marathon Petroleum, benefits are very good, medical insurance, 401k match 6% and a pension plan that's employer contributed starting pay varies based on which terminal you work out of. Average starting pay for a Trucking School Graduate is $100k to start. Average pay for the drivers in the terminal I work out of is $120k year.
UPS wants you very militant like to qualify as a driver for them and very flexible with your time the first 6 months to a year. Some trainers actually make it harder than need be to become a feeder driver for them at least in my experience.
Honestly having your doubles and doing shuttles for food services pays well. Ben E Keith in Florida isnt as good as Arkansas though. 1200 weekly minimum in Florida but Little Rock averages 82,000 a year with some making 96,000 - 110,000 a year. All drop and hook. Only downside is 12 hour shifts usually driving 10 plus hours all between 4-6 pm to 4-6 am Sunday to Thursday with Friday rotation. Idk how Gordon, sysco or pfg are but average route driver pay is 74,000 a year and we are the ones unloading the cases. But its hard to get hired off the street as a shuttle driver usually have to run routes for 3 years or so and we half of ours been with bek for 5-10 years and 5 guys with 20 years with the company. Its pretty competitive too so you need to wait for one to retire.
I work for XPO logistics, their is a freight recession currently happening which is causing a lot of new drivers not being able to run any routes. Me I am fortunate to be a spotter who works no less than 9 in a half hours a day. I have less than a month and I will be at top pay which is 35.00 dollars an hour. If you have a problem with working the dock, then you don’t want to work at XPO LTL. Because you are guranteed to work the dock. No one ia excempt. Not even the drivers who have been with the companie for decades, unless you are a hostler (spotter) we dont touch the dock.
I’m at J.B. Hunt on the Amazon account. In a sleeper 6days a week all over California, sometimes Nevada, and Medford Oregon. Started at 85k a year and this year I’m making 89k
I gotta say I’m a former Walmart employee of almost 3 years. Walmart treats drivers for the most part very well and the pay structure is excellent compared to a lot of other trucking companies. No place is perfect. There will always be people talking about their bad experiences with every company. However, having a positive mindset and not allowing everything to bother you while also having a big picture, thought process and most importantly, a thankful attitude helps tremendously. They do require 2 1/2 years of experience But the pay and benefits are incredible.
I personally would only drive for a private fleet. Private fleets pay higher than trucking companies. They have better benefits, and consistent work. Walmart, Ashley furniture. Pilot/ Flying J. Love’s. Dominoes, papa Johns.Chick fil a supply.
Ups be false advertising they’ll put hiring full time but you go talk to them for interview and say it’s seasonal with full time hours lol instead of putting it on the ad lol and Walmart have to have 30 months experience will be otr for 5 days with two days off during the week only until you get your seniority up but definitely all 3 good companies
Anthony I’ve been driving for 30 years I started on food service like what you doing I did it till I was 36 years old then went to a company that all I do is bump docks,my advice to you is try to stay at your company for as long as you can before changing to a just drive kinda job like that you will stay stronger longer as you age,I wish now that I would’ve done food service till about 55 not keeping ur body moving is not good
I have done a lot of research on different company’s driving jobs and the fact of the matter is Walmart is one of the best companies To drive for. They pay extremely well, but they are serious about hiring people who are safety oriented, conscientious, and care about what they do. Too many people apply to these companies for the wrong reasons and get upset when they are not selected. You should not be a truck driver because you want to make a lot of money that is the wrong reason.
I used to work at Walmart DC at Raymond NH as third parties company and they warranted you working every day but their rule’s are very firms . If you follow this rules you could retired here. Thanks
LTL driver here, it is most definetely slow. I work for AAA. Freight is steady and enough to keep everyone working, but you can tell the freight is not moving like it was before the recession hit.
I'm currently working for Hogan on the Dollar General account...I love my job, going to clear 120k this year...my first year or rather 9 months I made 75k...if I was to go elsewhere it be something OTR I beljeve
It's funny cause I saw your video about you getting your endorsements and I went and got all of mine and my TWIC card about a month ago. I just got hired with Gemini start next Monday in Macon, Ga. I was supposed to start with McLane but decided to go with Love's/Gemini instead.
Nice. Congratulations 🍾 man! I’m out of Atlanta. Applied for Garden City/ Savanna area. Gemini told me about the Macon location also. It was taking some time plus i have a-lot of previous employers over the past 12 years (cowboy) so I went with Walmart (Lagrange GA). Gemini really seems to be an A1 company! DirtyBroke has really helped a lot of Drivers out here. Good luck 🍀 Peace ☮️.
Please elaborate on “a lot more than just bumping docks”. I know you’re not touching any freight. I’m assuming you’re referring to different things regarding their company policy.
LTL is definitely slow right now especially in Florida,we got some runs that gets cut nightly If it doesn’t pick up I might start looking into something else
Fax extremely slow rn. In almost 10 years of driving for different companies, I realize this driving shit is all hype I made more starting off first year driving then I am in LTL. Ltl fuck over new hires. Tip for everyone if you already making over 1k a week at current . Don’t leave for ltl
I work for PFG, not sure what I would do if it wasn't food service to be honest. I still want to get my endorsements. Really like PFG Northcenter though, so no plans on leaving any time soon.
In Orlando you probably be in the warehouse for 1 or 2 years before being a driver, routes get bigger and bigger with all this construction going on. Once a driver you just basically floating around doing different routes making $30+ until hit $40.
@@michaelmontgomery8896 I worked for Dollar General private fleet, but unfortunately I had to let it go since I was 5 days out and family situation just force me to go local, so now im with Usfoods.
I know this video is a year old but im with ABF ltl company its huge on seniority. You can make really good money but you got to put in the hours. Time and half after 8 double time after 11. Union based company. They got pension free medical.
Walmart benefit packages Im sure is almost want you get from the federal gov . Port work #1 if own your truck or not it's frontward drop n hook coming back with a empty .
Ups freight will hire off the street not brown it's a difference. Wal Mart is good but it's more like otr don't plan on being home much. And they contact alot of there work to marten, swift and maybe others. I'm sure the company may pay more than the contract companies. Marten for example advertise 1400 a week and you may layover a few times a week. That's not enough money to be laying over.
UPS hires off the street permanent full time at a few locations across the US. The hiring during the peak season(approx from November-December 31)is usually seasonal positions only. They seem to be growing faster than expected so it isn’t possible to train enough people from inside. Luckily the training is only 2 weeks to get CDL and another week actually doing productive work. Then after the 15 days behind the wheel training you will be out alone.#freedom 🎉
Ups is hard to get into. Like u said loading trucks and u only work like 25hrs a week. They will hire off the street for drivers if they can't fill the positions and if they do hire you off the street you gonna need all your endorsements just FYI
Oh yeah, I’m good lol..I actually live in FL but I’m a regional driver bro. Traveling to MS,LA, & AL. I’m still in the south though so I’m not complaining.
If is to bad we don't run until road are some clear. Is up to the driver. You have the last call. Safety and integrity #1 rule in here. I Don't Regret it Jumping From Mclane to Walmart
If somebody is complaining about Walmart it’s definitely something they’re doing wrong … UPS just makes you really start from the bottom. You can come off the street but the pay scale coming in the door is terrible
In my current job, we follow transportation as an economic indicator, and slow LTL is many times an early recession indicator. Not sure if food service holds up in hard times tho. We have a guy in our neighborhood who drives for loves, and he really loves it. No pun intended. And I guess the secret is out about gordon plant city, no driver jobs listed there lol.
Some people will have a bad experience working for a company & say it’s a bad company. Or what’s even worse is when people who have actually never worked for a particular company have the audacity to say a company is trash because of what they might have seen or heard another person say..🤦🏾♂️
I believe you have to have 36 months of experience for Walmart.. Ups hire off the streets for the peak season for temporary work, but you have to have your license for 2 years. The only time they hire full time drivers is if they can’t fill the position or if they open up a new hub
Walmart is bad, very strict and ignorant people working there, issues with the warehouse people. Sure bumping docks but also they try to harass drivers who are told no touch, to help them unload, stay away from Walmart did Walmart work for about a month and I was literally sick of them by day 1 UPS is the worse option, running FedEx is far more reliable and profitable, my mentor making 600k a year after taxes running FedEx as an owner op, and I did FedEx for months and they're very reliable and a starter company, everyone I've known doing UPS getting screwed and the whole thing about "work the warehouse" is wrong. Hasn't been that way for 10+ years to the best of my knowledge because I actually had to do research for my friend who wanted into it Gemini is a good gig, all the drivers are happy but I can't get any info on pay from even their drivers (is there a non disclosure with them?) My top 5 picks are #1 Oakley transportation up to $400 a day as a tanker driver or a little less regional/local, 50-60cpm dry van/reefer, and south Florida groves work no logbook $2k a week average 2 Estes LTL 74cpm is a serious pay and they pay for hotels if you do long distance in a daycab, some people solo can get sleepers Crete/Schafer 68mph truck, and to the best of my knowledge 63cpm (supposedly just went higher so may be outdated) but I've known enough people who have personal experiences with them it's a great gig even for a mega Combined transport, they have van, flatbed and oversized load. Well rounded family of companies under combined transport, can't get pay info but do know a driver under oversized who has done van in past, and makes good money, up to $10 a mile company driver (so seems like owner op pay but none of the expenses) other than that no info on them besides they treat their drivers well Bynum transport, lower pay no hassle tanker, no pump. But if you do your job you'll never hear from work besides getting a new load usually. Great job Ultimately these companies that offer less than $2000 a week are clowning you if you're making less than $1500 a week you are literally stealing from yourself staying at your job. If you make less than $1000 a week=steering wheel holder You are worth at least $2000 a week after tax if you have 1 year experience
I appreciate the information you shared. However, I’ll have to respectfully disagree with your statement “working in the warehouse is wrong”. That’s actually how it is where I live. I have friends that work for UPS locally & have been there over 10yrs. According to the comment section, I see some other guy’s saying the same thing. I also see some saying, they will hire off the street where they live so that tells me it’s different everywhere.
@@imanthonytv I could definitely agree it could be different elsewhere. I know older people who worked for ups who that was the case, but for example where I'm at you can apply directly as a driver I already know places are different based on region procedures, for example FedEx in the southeast still has a lot of COVID restrictions but elsewhere they have no restrictions, different regions, different management branches and concerns for sure
Depends on where u live and what company. Kllm for example has otr , Midwest regional, and south east regional. If ur trainer is a regional guy , then u will be regional initially
Ltl might be something to check out...I run p&d, but line haul is probably the smoothest thing you can do and make goof money and be home most, if not, every night
Less than truckload. It basically just means a trailer that’s not fully loaded. You’re transporting trailers or freight from terminal to terminal. You could also be doing P&D which is pick up & delivery locally.
I could be wrong but I don't think UPS is gonna put an experienced driver with a CDL in the warehouse. Yeah you gotta start out in the warehouse before you drive a package car, but UPS Freight will hire experienced drivers to driver immediately...
Because I have a great schedule, my route is laid back, the job isn’t hard to me, my management team is good, I have a brand new tractor so equipment is great, money is good, profit sharing is a +, I also enjoy my hotel rewards perks and not having to pay for my hotel stays when I travel..Overall good company in my opinion..I just gave you my WHY..With all that said, there are definitely some good jobs out there. Jobs that pay more & that are less labor intensive. I understand that. Food service isn’t the end all be all for me but it’s what I’m doing now and I can’t complain. I appreciate the comment brother.
@@imanthonytv Hey, my bad man, your channel just popped up in my recommendations. When I see food service I automatically think extremely long days blowing out the entire 14 hours clock everyday because that's what everybody says that works in food service but looks like you have a nice setup, I would never tell somebody to leave a situation there happy with in trucking because it's rare to find it. Took me 5 years in the game to find a spot I'm happy with.

I feel ya..
Where you out of?
I made 104 at crete last year doing otr. Crete runs about 4 walmart distribution centers. They are saying those drivers make 100 plus doing regional.
What company
Thanks Anthony 👍🏽, I'll do a video with my top Three.
No problem DB..Looking forward to watching that video 👌🏾
Yeah ups they hired me off the street in ny for feeder driver but only as a part timer like 16-20 hours a week @ $35 an hour takes years to get on the full time side.
Nice! Yeah, they make you put your time in before advancing lol..
Thanks for the good info. Could you do a video on best companies/opportunities for people just getting their CDL with little to no experience? I'm looking to get mine and currently working as an Amazon delivery driver.
I worked for Amazon before as a CDL Driver. They paid 1050$ per week for working three 13.5hrs shifts
Was so simple and easy.
How it go
Glad to see you doing your thing
My brother works for them in Oklahoma. He makes $130,000 + and is home every weekend and has 9 weeks of vacation. He's happy as all get out.
Nice
Who does your brother work for?
@@boxelder9147 Walmart
I drive for Marathon Petroleum, benefits are very good, medical insurance, 401k match 6% and a pension plan that's employer contributed starting pay varies based on which terminal you work out of. Average starting pay for a Trucking School Graduate is $100k to start. Average pay for the drivers in the terminal I work out of is $120k year.
A food service company in my area is offering 20k sign on bonuses.
UPS wants you very militant like to qualify as a driver for them and very flexible with your time the first 6 months to a year. Some trainers actually make it harder than need be to become a feeder driver for them at least in my experience.
Definitely a process and they don’t make it easy.
Working for UPS is like being in an abusive relationship. It’s good and bad.
He is right some trainers have a stick up there ass. I was so close to bitch slapping one of them. And others are cool..
Nice!
💯👌🏾
Anthony I’ve been driving for 30 years I started on food service like what you doing I did it till I was 36 years old then went to a company that all I do is bump docks,my advice to you is try to stay at your company for as long as you can before changing to a just drive kinda job like that you will stay stronger longer as you age,I wish now that I would’ve done food service till about 55 not keeping ur body moving is not good
I appreciate the advice. I’m still actively in the gym working out 2-3 times a week so I’m good there.
Yeah, that’s what I’m hearing from other LTL guy’s.
I heard 2 years ago here in raleigh they were hiring drivers off the street.
I'm currently working for Hogan on the Dollar General account...I love my job, going to clear 120k this year...my first year or rather 9 months I made 75k...if I was to go elsewhere it be something OTR I beljeve
She you like the labor with the rolltainers? How often are you home?
It's funny cause I saw your video about you getting your endorsements and I went and got all of mine and my TWIC card about a month ago. I just got hired with Gemini start next Monday in Macon, Ga. I was supposed to start with McLane but decided to go with Love's/Gemini instead.
Definitely chose the better option with gemini...food service is trash...to much back breaking work

30 months experience. But a lot more than just bumping docks but great to work for.
Please elaborate on “a lot more than just bumping docks”. I know you’re not touching any freight. I’m assuming you’re referring to different things regarding their company policy.
Yes please do tell your alot more than bumping docks.. don't keep us in suspense.. what's your scenario of alot more
i drive for clean harbors hauling hazmat i'm at 97k with 6 more weeks left in the year

My goal is to work for Costco as a driver I heard they good company to work for.
I heard the same. Good luck 👍🏾
@@imanthonytv thank you, but I heard you gotta work in the warehouse as well.
LTL is definitely slow right now especially in Florida,we got some runs that gets cut nightly
If it doesn’t pick up I might start looking into something else
Yeah bro, that’s what I’ve been hearing about LTL.
We’re slow up here in MA . I’m doing P&D for but I make sure I get my hours even if I have to milk the clock IDC LOL fire me 😂

Great Content bro! Walmart is a great choice many opportunities for advancements.
I work for PFG, not sure what I would do if it wasn't food service to be honest. I still want to get my endorsements. Really like PFG Northcenter though, so no plans on leaving any time soon.
How much you making at PFG if you don’t mind me asking? How many hours
UPS wants you to do team driving before you can get in the daycab tractors.
depends on your terminal.
Worked for UPS in Addison, Illinois but you can get hired off the street
In Orlando you probably be in the warehouse for 1 or 2 years before being a driver, routes get bigger and bigger with all this construction going on. Once a driver you just basically floating around doing different routes making $30+ until hit $40.
Yep, sounds like how it is here.
I’m in Orlando and about to finish TDI. Looking to apply at UPS when I get my CDL
@@michaelmontgomery8896 Good luck bro, if you can get in to drive with them you set, their benefits are great.
Thanks man! Who did you end up working for LV?
I'm making 130 a year at fed ex freight 80.8 cents a mile
Ups requires you to know how to drive a standard transmission. If you have an auto restriction on your CDL you have 0 chance getting on with UPS.
Walmart is OTR then you gotta think about winter roads icy conditions chaining your tires …. Bro your in florida doing local I think you got it good
Oh yeah, I’m good lol..I actually live in FL but I’m a regional driver bro. Traveling to MS,LA, & AL. I’m still in the south though so I’m not complaining.
Walmart is more regional if your hired to a florida Walmart dc your not gonna see snow
If is to bad we don't run until road are some clear. Is up to the driver. You have the last call. Safety and integrity #1 rule in here.
I Don't Regret it Jumping From Mclane to Walmart

If somebody is complaining about Walmart it’s definitely something they’re doing wrong …
UPS just makes you really start from the bottom. You can come off the street but the pay scale coming in the door is terrible
Man, I see people complaining about everything under the sun lol. No comment surprises me anymore.
I’m at Fedex freight 6 years in $120,000 plus yearly in the mid/south
Nice! 👍🏾
Walmart is easy and laidback however picking your DC plays a big part
Some people will have a bad experience working for a company & say it’s a bad company. Or what’s even worse is when people who have actually never worked for a particular company have the audacity to say a company is trash because of what they might have seen or heard another person say..🤦🏾♂️
So true. I think you do better at the grocery dc.
Any garbage companies you would suggest especially for entry level drivers ?
Love your channel man! Would you mind doing a video on the pizza food service companies?
Thanks for watching buddy! If I can gather up enough information on the companies, I will.
Walmart like 2 and half years no moving violations.
I believe you have to have 36 months of experience for Walmart..
Ups hire off the streets for the peak season for temporary work, but you have to have your license for 2 years. The only time they hire full time drivers is if they can’t fill the position or if they open up a new hub
It’s actually 30 month’s to be exact for Walmart.
Hey Anthony! I just wanna say thanks for your videos. Been here at Gordon for a week now. I wanted to ask where you get you back brace?
No problem buddy! I purchased it from Walmart.
Minimum of 30 months experience for Walmart
Averitt Express is where it’s at/ Local/ No touch
Doing what? LTL? There’s an LTL Averitt driver who has a YT channel that I watch occasionally. He seems to like the company for the most part.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO WORK IN THE WAREHOUSE TO BECOME A DRIVER AT UPS !! They are hiring now drivers off the street as of now
I’m in jersey they hire off the streets up here
Which part NJ?
im only seeing seasonal
Walmart is bad, very strict and ignorant people working there, issues with the warehouse people. Sure bumping docks but also they try to harass drivers who are told no touch, to help them unload, stay away from Walmart did Walmart work for about a month and I was literally sick of them by day 1
UPS is the worse option, running FedEx is far more reliable and profitable, my mentor making 600k a year after taxes running FedEx as an owner op, and I did FedEx for months and they're very reliable and a starter company, everyone I've known doing UPS getting screwed and the whole thing about "work the warehouse" is wrong. Hasn't been that way for 10+ years to the best of my knowledge because I actually had to do research for my friend who wanted into it
Gemini is a good gig, all the drivers are happy but I can't get any info on pay from even their drivers (is there a non disclosure with them?)
My top 5 picks are
#1 Oakley transportation up to $400 a day as a tanker driver or a little less regional/local, 50-60cpm dry van/reefer, and south Florida groves work no logbook $2k a week average
2 Estes LTL 74cpm is a serious pay and they pay for hotels if you do long distance in a daycab, some people solo can get sleepers
Crete/Schafer 68mph truck, and to the best of my knowledge 63cpm (supposedly just went higher so may be outdated) but I've known enough people who have personal experiences with them it's a great gig even for a mega
Combined transport, they have van, flatbed and oversized load. Well rounded family of companies under combined transport, can't get pay info but do know a driver under oversized who has done van in past, and makes good money, up to $10 a mile company driver (so seems like owner op pay but none of the expenses) other than that no info on them besides they treat their drivers well
Bynum transport, lower pay no hassle tanker, no pump. But if you do your job you'll never hear from work besides getting a new load usually. Great job
Ultimately these companies that offer less than $2000 a week are clowning you if you're making less than $1500 a week you are literally stealing from yourself staying at your job. If you make less than $1000 a week=steering wheel holder
You are worth at least $2000 a week after tax if you have 1 year experience
I appreciate the information you shared. However, I’ll have to respectfully disagree with your statement “working in the warehouse is wrong”. That’s actually how it is where I live. I have friends that work for UPS locally & have been there over 10yrs. According to the comment section, I see some other guy’s saying the same thing. I also see some saying, they will hire off the street where they live so that tells me it’s different everywhere.
@@imanthonytv I could definitely agree it could be different elsewhere. I know older people who worked for ups who that was the case, but for example where I'm at you can apply directly as a driver
I already know places are different based on region procedures, for example FedEx in the southeast still has a lot of COVID restrictions but elsewhere they have no restrictions, different regions, different management branches and concerns for sure
LTL is sloooooooooow. Its a bad time to switch over to LTL
Do you know if every paid Cdl training company require you to do OTR with a trainer
I have no idea but I would think so. At least until you know the ropes.
Depends on where u live and what company. Kllm for example has otr , Midwest regional, and south east regional. If ur trainer is a regional guy , then u will be regional initially
How about JB Hunt?
Anthony what do you think about old dominion?? Heard it’s good Company ??
Good company
They are good and they use to have a waiting list. Now they are offering a 10,000 bonus at the carlisle,PA location. 5000 on the first week I think.
Where are you located? UPS is definitely long term.
Move to Texas bruh. We got everything here bro
Wal Mart sounds decent, can't even lie .
Ltl might be something to check out...I run p&d, but line haul is probably the smoothest thing you can do and make goof money and be home most, if not, every night
Is foodservice slowing? I have a day or two where there is no work
No

Less than truckload. It basically just means a trailer that’s not fully loaded. You’re transporting trailers or freight from terminal to terminal. You could also be doing P&D which is pick up & delivery locally.
Ben E Kieth if you're

30months experience for Walmart
I could be wrong but I don't think UPS is gonna put an experienced driver with a CDL in the warehouse. Yeah you gotta start out in the warehouse before you drive a package car, but UPS Freight will hire experienced drivers to driver immediately...

Why you doing food service ? That's some of the hardest work and not enough pay you can do in trucking.
It’s all good champ. There’s definitely a ton of negativity surrounding food service jobs out there so I get it. I’m just fortunate enough to not be in some of the terrible situations I hear about. On another note, I seen another comment where you stated you pull chemical tankers making well over 100K yr which is great!
