The climbing at very fight is really dangerous, and people know the risks before starting it, but they want to achive the highest point anyway. It their dream, they very want to do it at all cost. In depth of the souls, everyone wants to do smth greater than themselves, ro chase the dream, without it people feel like their lifes are not complet. But at the same time reaching to the dream might be very hard, takes a high risk. People, who want to achive the highest point understand, that their dream can cost their lifes or many sufferings from the injuries, but they can't live without trying to be closer to their dream. And in the video, Till is suffering, but in the scene in the tent, Till is chill and confident, so his friends. Instead, they helped him to do the last steps to the dream, where he peasfully died. "Without you I cannot be" - when you have a high purpose, you always think about it and want to achive it. And at the same time, life without it seems to not have purpose and sense, empty. "With you I am alone to" - is about things you must sacrifice for dream. Sometimes it is only time, but in other cases it can be your connections to the closests, isolation, changing you life completely, and as in the video death, high level of risk.

The song ist about the relationship between the band members of Rammstein and also can be seen as expressing mourning over the loss of a loved person. Rammstein wanted to break up one or the other time and that is why they had even therapy sessions. But they always decided to stay together. For Heitmann (film direktor of this video) , the emotional message in the video is very important; "Ohne Dich" shows unity in the band. Richard said that the most important thing is to stick together, everything else is irrelevant.Therefore Rammstein is one of the few Bands that have managed to play in the same line up and with the same members for almost 30 years since they were founded. The funny thing is that Flake (Keyboarder) still denies that he is a member of Rammstein, because he actually never wanted to be part of Rammstein from the start because the music was too "simple" for him. Till and Richard always wanted to start solo careers. In addition, the Rammstein members constantly argued about every song, every video and every live show, how it could be done better. It actually almost came to a break up with the "Mother" video. Till shot the video alone without really involving the other band members. Rammstein not only had one group therapy with a psychologist over the years, but nevertheless they could never be without each other There were 5 or 6 ideas for this video. Some of the band members wanted to make a video at sea, others wanted to make it in the mountains. Richard wanted to make a video based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Match Girl" because it was the only fairy tale that made him cry, but the idea was rejected.. According to Joern Heitmann (film director), this is the most emotionally engaging video he has ever made with the band. For the video, the band members grew beards, because in the mountains there is no time to shave. Flake was the only one to have an artificial one. During the making of, Till can be seen wearing a shirt which makes fun of Flake and his beard. The climbing scene was shot on one of the climbing walls next to a parking lot, and the band could go as high as they wanted to. The band was accompanied by an experienced climbing team who taught them how to correctly climb the wall. The video was shot at +20 degrees. The snow was artificial, and the snow storm was created with the help of machines. Emanuel Fialik's assistant expressed his concerns about whether any of the band members would get hurt while shooting a video in the middle of the tour. Heitmann claimed that no one would have been able to stop Till from playing the falling scene. The original idea was that Flake would have to carry Till together with Schneider at 3,400 m above sea level, which was physically impossible for him. Richard admits that everyone always fights for their own scene when shooting videos and everyone wants to be able to play a part, so it's hard to work with them on the set.
One of their best songs. My favorite nevertheless is Stirb nicht vor mir, partly in German, partly in English language. Highly recommended for your next comments.

To my understanding, the main character has a broken heart and his buddies worry about him and try to better his mood by taking him on a mountain trip. He finally uses the situation and commits suicide. His friends help him to get to the summit, For a German this touches something positive we buried with all the negative from WWII: the cohesion of a group of males in the face of death. Each one ready to give his life for his companion. WWII veterans got tears in their eyes when they were talking about those experiences. I remember speaking up against this: "You have killed people in the name of Hitler.." And whole thing went up in screaming and yelling. Maybe It's not that easy. The poet Heiner Müller once dropped a line: "Back when I was twenty and owner of the truth"... Best wishes from Berlin ( I miss the animals!)
Whether for a good cause, or an evil cause, people devoted to each other bring out the same emotions. Their trials and their deaths aren't diminished simply because they were on the wrong side. We all have regrets in life. I'm rather blessed that I'm ethnicity German, but born in America. I can still recognize the evils of the Nazis, but I can also recognize the heroism and bravery of German soldiers fighting for their country. If only the Schwarze Kapelle succeeded. Unfortunately, both the American and British governments rejected their attempts to work together, and the best hope of stopping the Nazis from within died with Admiral Canaris.

After long time not understanding the lyrics, I finally decided that the song is about a man who killed his girlfriend and buried her in the woods (firs). That is where he last has seen her. He returns to her grave and when he opens the grave in the trench, his breath stops from the smell. But it does not help, withour her he is lonely, but with her dead body, it is the same.
I have a lot of respect for all the members of Rammstein. They are that rare example of unity and that any disagreements and difficulties can be overcome together. This song and video is about that. Yes they had to see a psychologist and as a result they're together for more than 20 years. And it hurts even more for me as an old Nightwish fan that around same time they couldn't overcome disagreements and difficulties in band and broke up so badly that they were almost enemies. They had been at school together since they were kids, sang and performed together, studied music together and lived in the same town.
