At the end of the video you can hear the last breath of a dying person. Rammstein is not only fire and pyro, fun, best live shows, best videos but also very deep lyrics. Not German speakers often underestimate Rammstein's poetry

    • @annegretkasten6277

Yes, but German speaker too. Till shortens the lyrics and not everyone can handle them. He also uses a language that is no longer in use. German Romanticism.

My wife didn't like Rammstein in the past - she tolerated it and listen with me. But when I played "Zeit", she had the same reaction like Suesue - first listening to the lyrics, like she was frozen, then the tears came rolling down. And from this point in time she loves Rammstein. She now got the point of the deepness of this band because my wife is very thoughtful (I hope that is the correct English term...) as well. Again, love your reactions - because they are honest and not like a well studied a role play.

Half year ago I discovered RAMMSTEIN. And I can't find words to descripe how and what I feel ...
Beethoven said once: "Musik soll Feuer aus dem Manne schlagen!"

First :-) I’m very excited to hear your opinion. One of the best videos of Rammstein in my opinion. Ever. This song hits so hard live ❤ It was and always will be the perfect moment. This is art. And truth. Life. I’ve lost my parents when I was 27. Lost my hubby three years ago. Makes me cry every time this video, this song. But on the other side it’s absolute perfection. We have to keep going. The end will surely come even if we try to hold it up. We can’t. Best band ever.

Sadly it came out just after my "little sister" got diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. I remember singing it to her & explaining it. She's now passed on & I can't hear this without sobbing cos I remember the last time I saw her. We were having lunch & it came on the playlist. She came over & hugged me. & all I could think was time, please stand still. But of course it doesn't. And it's now 10 weeks since she's gone.

    From Klaus Neumann:
Three creatures of destiny are named: their names are Urd (fate), Verdandi (that which is to come) and Skuld (guilt; that which should be). Their names are considered to be Norse equivalents of common medieval notions of time in the form of personifications of the past (Urd), present (Verdandi) and future (Skuld).
The song deals with the theme of death and the transience of life. These motifs are expressed within the video through various images and metaphors. At the beginning, when the band members are drowning in the sea, Lindemann sings about the river of time, in which all people are trapped. This metaphor is visualized by the drowning in the video. In the war scene, where children first play war and later a battle actually takes place, the band sings about the inability to stop the future: "You can't summon the future, you don't tolerate a stay". In the same place where children used to play, they now die in war. The song expresses the wish that the beautiful moments as children should always last. The women who give birth to their children at the Sandstrom represent the cycle of time. In the same place where the dead daughter will later appear, children will also be born. The farmer and his daughter are separated in a moment that seemed perfect for them. The father tries to stop his daughter, but fails. Accordingly, he mourns the moment. The character in the video is clearly identifiable as Death by the black cloak. However, the video also equates it with the concept of time, as the passage of time means everyone has to die at some point.

The three creepy figures are called time keepers by Rammstein. Doubtless an referring to the Norns. According to the "Völuspa", Norns (Nornir) are three immortal female figures in pre-Christian, old Germanic/Nordic mythology who sit on the banks of the Urd River at the root of the world ash Yagdrasil and spin the threads of fate for gods and humans. (The three sinister figures in the Rammstein video undoubtedly provide an analogy) The names of the three Norns are:
"Urd" (fate / that which has become) She is an old woman who constantly looks back over her shoulder at the time long past.
"Verdandi" (Present / The Being) She has the form of a young woman who is always looking ahead.
"Skuld" (Future/The Becoming) Unlike Urd and Verdandi, Skuld is an unpredictable force that has no love for gods or humans. She wears a veil and holds a book or scroll in each hand. Her gaze is always directed in the opposite direction of Urd's gaze.
The Nornir spin the thread of Fate and life for every human being, and when that thread is severed, the human's life ends. Remnants of this mythology can still be found today in the Germanic/Nordic language area. There is a commonly used saying for a person who is in danger of death. "His life hangs by a thin thread only".

The core of this masterpiece, imho, is the sentence: 'Ein jeder kennt... den perfekten Moment' (eveybody knows/realizes/recognizes, the perfect moment). Mostly, we know this perfect moment, to be in the past. Now, that we look back on it, we can see: it was perfect. We had our loved ones. We where all there. And that moment: was perfection. But then: it passed. And now, we are only left with a faint memory.
Another way to look at it is as a reminder, that THIS is the perfect moment. Always. THIS moment: together, with your loved ones. IS the perfect moment. And we should open ourselves up for that moment. Soak it in.
What you should see is 'parabol(a)' from Tool. The official version, or the fan based version with the lyrics, both will blow your minds.

Sensative reaction, crying is human and offcourse allowed, the song, lyrics and video are so powerfull and if you lost some loved ones and love music you most probably will cry. Even when listening it to it more times. One of their best numbers IMHO and relating to all people………

dear lovely SueSue this song is tough enough to make everyone teary at least a little. Please don't feel bad, I've been there, too. I got almost dehydrated the first time I saw this piece of art, but that's the beauty of their work which makes it relatable to anyone, right? I appreciate your reactions, you two are so sweet and cool and I wish you the best time ❤

I had the same reaction. All I could think about the first time I saw the video was my Mother who passed away a couple of years ago. Thinking about all of the missed opportunities to spend more time with her, and thinking about all of the times we did spend together. It's such a beautiful song and video.

63 here. Ages ago I had a teacher/guru that said we are blind to oncoming time, yet we're all plunging headlong into it. On this runaway train, our view is from the caboose looking back at the moments that have just happened -- only able to guess what's ahead. I think that's what the blindfolds were pointing-to. ••• Thanks! PEACE!!!

  • @peekaboosue
    @peekaboosue 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

My interpretation and thought was time goes on like a continuous cycle and those rare occasions when we are truly happy of course we want time to stop. The showing of the sand and hourglass ⌛ time keeps going and them showing the scenes reversing to me meant a desire to go back in time either to the moment of birth and start our lives over or to before we're even born saying no i don't even want to be born i want to go back before i was even conscious of my own existence and mortality. Them being blindfolded to me was no one knows whats going to happen in the future we don't know what kind of lives these babies are going to have.

With this Song, Rammstein has hit a nerve that everyone can relate to!
    About the three Figures:
Norne (goddess of fate in Norse Mythology)
In Norse Mythology, the Norns are female beings who determine fate.
Three Women of destiny are mentioned by Name:
They are called Urd (fate), Verdandi (that which becomes) and Skuld (guilt; that which is to be).
    Greetings
    Michael

Another thing that came to my the babies being put back in to the mother to be born again on earth and also coming back in a sense they died on earth and are now being born in the other world and their birth or rebirth on earth is them already starting to die because as soon as your born your dying..your dying to live or as Rammstein put it "Wir sterben weiter bis wir leben" "We keep dying until we live" because in a sense what we perceive as dying is us actually being born again into the other world that's why the girl in the end seems happy when she dies because she knows that her death here means her being born over there..if that makes any Sense?
This is art at its finest..a true Masterpiece!!

  • @westfale520

the vidio goes deep into Germanic mythology. these beings in the film are not death. but the guardians of time. the three "norne" with names Urðr, Verðandi and Skuld. who protect the past, present and future and are responsible for fate.
