Hi Phil, interesting video. They have certainly come a long way since the old wooden slat station display signs that used to be used on Sydney stations years ago. Those types of signs would be far more accurate and if a train is late in arriving, at least everyone will know how long the wait will be. we have similar display signs here in Melbourne. Anyway, take care. Rob in Melbourne Australia.
what you said about the seconds is very accurate. I observed this a week ago watching the time on the display board. It departed to the second. Doors closed a few seconds before the train started to move away from the platform. I noticed you were at the Eastern Suburbs Lline end of Central . Old station end euals old PIDs to match the old Tangara trains. Interesting that intercity and regional pids updated as well.
Hi Phil before it gets to festive just wanted to wish you a merry Christmas and happy new year and are you taking any time off in between then to relax not from TH-cam I mean from work.
Phil, once you find out your service to Epping at about 5:50 am becomes a D set, please do a trip to work video on the first day that service becomes a d set if you know beforehand ? If you are away or you don't have work that day or are not working in that area, the first opportunity when you get a chance, please?
and uh - did you catch the signage next to PID - seen here - th-cam.com/video/QZR5ai29i8Y/w-d-xo.html the new sign there - next station: Museum as i not noticed this in your recently videos of it normally its not there at most stations
The metro PIDs previously had their own seperate design to that of the Sydney trains PIDs but were a little bit ago changed to have the same design as the Sydney trains PID
Why do “you” it’s broken If it’s the colour of the “next service” bar that bugs you I don’t see the problem I can read it fine I swear some self entitled morons just want to whinge for the sake of it So mate I ask why do you think it’s broken 🤦♂️
Hi Paul, one of the reasons they made the change was to help people who have colourblindness. So having the grey bar on top, and having symbols for the real time capacity indicators help to make it easier for people to see if you can’t differentiate colours well.
Thanks!
Thank you so much :)

old mixed with the New love it
Glad to meet you Sydney Trains Vlogs. How are you feeling.
I would think that the major multi-line display boards do not show the black "strap" as they all have a time display on the right-hand top corner,
capacity indicator also now has a person inside it which is different to the old one

I think it personally looks better. Looks much more slick and easy to read

@SydneywithSam yea I figured, thanks
Haven't they heard of "It ain't broken, don't fix it?" Probably not.
What makes you think that it's not broken or couldn't do with some improvement?!
If it ain’t broken, keep fixing it until it is.
Dont worry
