  • Hey Community,
I get up close and personal with this video. I spoke about my journey to building my own self-esteem, and ways you can build yours. Unfortunately, I didn't have many photos to upload from that time in my life. I hope you enjoy the video nonetheless. 😊

Hello! I want to create a weekly series where I answer questions from my viewers. I will gather your questions pertaining to mental health challenges', self-development, advice, etc.
This series will be uploaded every Wednesday dedicated to answering your questions. I'll choose questions randomly, and the cut off time to submit your questions will be every Sunday at 9pm EST.
Comment on my community page, and leave your questions. Don't forget to subscribe and turn your notification on so you know when I post.

    Wow. You're a believer too. That's helpful.
Our church teaches that self love is the most unchristian thing. Thank you for your perspective.

Self esteem - yes, it’s a process. Three steps forward, two steps back; and sometimes the other way . . . Videos such as these help with keeping the focus and serenity about being in a forward space . . .

Definitely is a process. We have good days and not so good days. Thanks for watching😊

I was tall and skinny too. people would tease me and say you are so skinny, it was the equivelent of saying you are so fat. I would hide myself. I am trying now to be happy with myself just as I am.

Stop allowing other people to control how we feel about ourselves, I love that! That’s Something I’m needing to embody.
I look forward to more of your videos, thanks so much Janelle ❤

I have trouble with this because of people who have had power over me treating me like I’m stupid and using my feelings against me. I tell myself the way they act is a reflection of them but the feelings sometimes still persist.

Great point about challenging the narrative, and helping yourself with positive self talk. I think that really helped with developing my self esteem overtime.

I’m sorry about your experience. I would reach out to a trauma therapist for ongoing support. You can also read the book by Pete Walker, Complex PTSD from Thriving to Surviving. Good luck!
