  • What makes a good Muslim mom? Let's look at the 3 main core competencies each Muslim mom should focus on so she can become the best mom she can be insha'Allah.
Core Competencies (your unique strengths and qualities that cannot be outsources and things none does better than you)
    1. Self Care
*Spiritual (prayer, du'as, dhikr, fasting, reading Qur'aan etc)
*Physical (sleep, hydration, nutrition, movement, exercise, etc)
*Mental (mood, focus, intellectual stimulation, etc)
    2. Marriage
    *Healthy Communication and Emotional Intelligence
    *Intimacy
    *Boundaries and Triggers
    3. Mothering
*Looking at the child in front of you and meeting their particular needs
*Figuring out their and your love languages and communicating in those
*Figuring out your own triggers and re-mothering yourself if need be
**Focusing on building a relationship with them and a healthy attachment
There are more core competencies in a life of a Muslim mom such as home management and/or making a difference in the ummah (sadaqah jaariyah) etc. but these top 3 mentioned above are the key to figuring out how to be the best mom you can be insha'Allah according to your own unique circumstances.

Asalaamu alaykum can you please make a video addressing first time mothers how to go about dealing with teenage daughters and what are some of the things as a mother that we should do for our daughter as they are beginning this new chapter of their lives. Thank you

    • @HifdhWithKids
      @HifdhWithKids  ปีที่แล้ว +3

Parenting teens has not been any different than parenting toddlers in our experience. They both require us to look at them with patience and love and care and to help them figure out their new found growth while making good choices. I'll address our philosophy on parenting teens in a new video insha'Allah.

Assalamu Alaikum sister..JazakAllah Khair for your beautiful content.
Question: I’m a 32 year old mother to my 2 year old first born. In the past 2 years I’ve learnt that my own childhood was not the best. I was emotionally neglected and although I don’t have any negative feelings or grudges etc Alhamdulillah…how do I heal from this? I’m struggling with health issues because I just can’t focus on physically looking after myself…can’t sleep, don’t drink enough water etc..and looking back these were the things I was yelled at for or made fun of…please guide me so I can teach my daughter how to look after herself better inshaAllah. JazakAllah Khair ❤️

TH-cam is not really the medium for giving out personal advice, however I can suggest starting small and being practical. Filling up a water bottle and keeping it nearby so you can hydrate yourself. Figuring out a bedtime routine that doesn't involve screens and is more conducive to sleep. If you can't sleep, maybe journalling so you can figure out what's on your mind. Baby steps. Your daughter already has a great mom who's concerned on how to help her and that's huge! Check out some of the self help books I recommended in another video:

Your message resonates with me sister. Extremely hard to heal from childhood wounds and take care for ourselves. So draining and the feeling of brokenness. How are you feeling now?
May Allah grant you strength and shifa, grant success in this life and the next.

Masha’Allah. Good advice. I agree with what you said about the slipper, sometimes we Muslim moms are too quick to reprimand when our kids when they miss salah, whine about madrassa, etc. Prophet Muhammad PBUH teaches us that gentleness is the best approach and shariah-compliant punishment is a last resort.
