In middle school we weren’t allowed to: 1) Have our hair dyed because it’s somehow distracting everyone 2) guys couldn’t have hair past their ears because it’s “inappropriate” ???? 3) guys also couldn’t have their ears pierced because it was also a distraction and inappropriate for whatever reason 4) No one could show their shoulders because apparently it’s going to turn everyone on 5) guys couldn’t have facial hair for whatever reason 6) the principle or whoever decided that it would be a good idea to make “roads” or something where students coming and going from specific classes had to travel specific ways to decrease “traffic.” It caused a lot of detentions for being late, and nope I didn’t follow that rule. It eventually stopped and teachers stopped mentioning it when it backfired. 7) students weren’t allowed to make any physical contact or you would get a detention. I don’t think many teachers cared tho because I’d hug my friends and my then bf all the time and didn’t get in trouble. What really pisses me off though is that teachers didn’t have to follow any of the rules. Sometimes I really wonder why they make children follow so many rules, but they excuse all the adults. Welp that’s Louisiana for you. Just moved to Maryland though, so hopefully things are better

He tackled the person to the ground the other guy had one of the strongest kids in school pull him off then the other kid kicked my friend while on the ground. School wanted him expelled before hearing his side about sexual assault confirmed by our entire friend group they both got suspended for four days and the harassment stopped

My school was _obsessed_ with enforcing their ridiculous dress code. No shorts, shirts tucked in, everyone wears a belt. They seriously cared more about their stupid dress code than educating students. Never mind that it gets *HOT AS FVCK* in the summer where I live and students almost had heat strokes more than once, oh no, they had to try to prevent us lustful youngsters from looking at butts in shorts and get us used to wearing uniforms.

We were allowed but during the middle of the year some kid got hurt while playing tag and had to wear a cast for a few weeks. So the teachers banned tag and running. We were in the fourth grade. Tagging and running is what we did. Oh and no physical contact either. And we didn't play with the playground equipment because they were broken for so long and the school never bothered to fix it. And there were no slides. So basically all you could do is just talk or sit down and wait for recess to be over. If that kid never played tag that would not have happened to us. Story time: So my group of friends and another group of friends decided it would be a great idea to fight over the only three way slide thing in the whole playground. This "battle" lasted for like 4 days. My group wanted to fight back, but be discreet about it. We went to breakfast and grabbed plastic forks. Right before we went out we put the forks in our sleeves. We climbed up and we stabbed their ankles. Another kid (who was never involved to begin with) snitched and my group had to turn our forks into the TA's. We just sharpened our nails and scratched them. Next day same kid snitched. The TAs tried to get us in trouble. Another kid in my group told them "These are our nails, and we can have them however we want." The fight stopped, but so did the teachers.

Yea. I got in trouble for wearing a so low brand skirt which every other girl in the school wore, and a white tank top that had a higher neck line, wasn’t low cut at all. Security guard pulled me into the office said I wasn’t wearing underwear and made me wear a jacket to cover up, it was summer btw. I was one of the few girls who was thinner but had big boobs and butt yet didn’t realize this about myself yet. This was the first time and the beginning of feeling very insecure about how I looked because the skinny girls, even chubbier girls with no shape and undeveloped were allowed to wear exactly the same thing as me. I still remember the underwear I was wearing as well. My mother was NOT happy.
I remember back in the beginning of 2020, on the first day back at school, our principal (Who we all disliked) held an assembly, we all assumed that the majority of it was gonna be about covid-19 cause the day before we had just learned that it had gone pandemic and all of us were pretty scared about it, when we got to the assembly, we were all sat down in a specific spot that our teachers chose and it began. The vice principal came up first and started mentioning about how he was proud to be working as vice principal and how great it has been and the amount of work he has put in, immediately starts talking about himself. Then he called up the *actual* principal of the school onto the mic and she begins talking about hoodies, how it's becoming a recurring nuisance and a serious problem, she said some bull about how we students need to comply with out given dress code and it is right to respect the school's best intentions by doing everything they basically told us to do. After that she then spends the majority of the time talking about how *PHONES* were apparently becoming a problem now in the courtyards and classrooms, I don't know what this boomer was talking about because she literally made a rule that phones were banned and not to be on school grounds at all or else we would face detention, have our phones confiscated for two days or even sent to the front office. The principal didn't think we were complying to these rules, even though literally no one had their phones out any time during the semester (except for some rule breakers who didn't buy in the message) so that gave her the excuse to explain how bad phones are to our social life, our health, our learning experience and our commitment to finishing all the assigned work we were given and worst of all, she planned to start a yearly, mandatory assembly where all of us older kids were forced to watch an hour long video about all the dangers of online interactions and how that could eventually lead to us either getting raped, kidnapped or worse murdered, we spent the entire assembly that day being lectured about how we aren't doing our part to liberate the school from the usage of phones and how she even plans try and get teachers to join in and make it like it's something fun?! that will never happen because A. teachers are the adults and they can do whatever they want and B. they actually need phones in case of family emergencies or something like that. What I hated was how the principal never even mentioned about Covid-19 and some students wanted to ask about it but the faculty shushed them and they were quiet because it was apparently RuDe to talk over a teacher... like she ever taught us anything, I really hated that principal and hope I never get to see her ever again because we have a new principal and is very nice to us and walks around the school greeting everyone, but the old principal was a massive hypocrite because after wasting our time with another *Phone's are bad* chat, she immediately got out her phone and began chatting to someone and many of us took noticed and asked about it but one teacher replied "She is the principal, she doesn't have to follow her own rules" I loved the school and all due to the circumstances I'm in that prevent me from having to take the bullshit hard exams that most kids do but honestly sometimes I wonder how there hasn't been a riot there yet, like after all that we will still have to go through the whole school life thing and what not and the icing on top, after the quarantine's, the lockdown's, the endless amount of catching up to do we Yr 11's had to do, what was really shit was when another assembly that was held in the new gym took place at the end of the school year, when the Yr 12's get congratulated on their hard work, when they got their awards and told their speeches, and after they showed off their free dress up clothing and got to leave school early. usually after the Yr 12's leave, that's when the Yr 11's got their time to shine, to be motivated to continue on and finish their final year, to also be congratulated on the amount of bullshit they had to go through... but instead, we were all told to stand up... then to look up at the ceiling, the new gym was installed with giant new fans that were called, kid you not, "Big ass fan's" and with the ass in the name, we were told to look at the fans and when we did, the vice principal turned them on, he said something cringey and the fans started spinning, we didn't get our congratulatory thanks for working so hard or our great inspiring speech to motivate us for the next year, instead we got to look at some big ass fans whilst the vice chuckled and patted himself on the back like he did the coolest thing in the world, he dismissed us and we all walked out feeling confused and annoyed. I was disappointed, we never got any recognition at all by our principal, our was even in our school's student council because someone stopped coming and they needed somebody else to help out, we got the chance to see a certain politician that everyone liked (I won't share who it was cause it might upset someone) but basically we got the chance to meet him (It was a man, I can only say that) and we were made to wait outside of the new gym in an orderly fashioned line while they were deciding to pick only two students who got to ask questions, we waited there for ages and it was because the politician was having lunch with... you guess it, the principal!!! I'm glad the old principal is gone now and we've gotten a much more kinda and relatable one who actually talked in her first assembly about the importance of wearing masks, staying safe and being sure to try and have the best positive outcome we can in these situations, she said this mainly because our old principal never brought the subject up, everyone likes her :)
In my (ex) school boys can wear shorts but girls can't,tank tops not allowed for girls even on the hottest days,no jackets or anything warm on winter days,no caps or anything else on your hair,no makeup at all. From what I remember nobody bullied or got into fights ever and most of the teachers were pretty chill and I was still comfortable with that, then I moved to Germany and now I see fights every day

My middle school had a principal who was hyper-paranoid, because she once had a gun pulled on her. So she ended up making some of the most ridiculous rules possible, such as: - All shirts had to be tucked in. Sweatshirts, sweaters, and hoodies included. - North Face coats and Rainbows sandals were banned for supposedly being gang clothing. - Mandatory singing of the new school song that she wrote (which was literally "We Are the Titans," but swapped out for "Trojans"). Every morning. - A petition against these rules circulated among the 8th grade students. Everyone who signed was threatened with suspension. The petition suddenly disappeared. Absolute madness.

They weren’t even allowed to touch what was given to them because they assumed everything around them was capable of giving them the test answers. She told me there was a girl who finished her test, and she took a sip of water, and they threw away her test and said it wasn’t going to be graded.. all for drinking water. But one time I was trying to go to my locker, and it was where the hallway enters in to the lobby, and my locker was the first locker in a row, so I just go straight to the locker, but a teacher stops me and says I need to stay on the right side so I don’t run in to anyone, so they expect me to keep going straight, just to take a left, then go back, instead of just going like 5 feet to the left

I'm not sure about your country but in Singapore schools are super strict. No nail polish, no bracelets or necklaces (unless silver or gold), no ankle socks, and for earrings, can only be gold or silver, no more than one on each ear, no dangling earrings, no big-sized earrings, only small studs. We can only wear white-coloured socks and shoes. No dying hair, no tattoos or other body piercings. No fancy hair accessories, hair bands and hair clips can only be black, brown, grey or dark blue. Idk why they make those stupid rules about attire and appearance.

I remember I got a retention for just glancing at my phone to check the time because the clock in the class room wasn't working. It was an old nokia phone...with buttons, not really much I can do with it except send texts, make calls and check the time. As if I could've opened up TH-cam on that fossil of a phone.
A lot of bad kids at my school used their phones in my 8th period since my teacher was nice (they took advantage of her and didn’t listen). Even after she POLITELY told them to get off, they would still use them (but not under the desk, so you could basically see their phones). She even let them charge their phones if they needed to. After that my teacher tried to get a little bit less nicer, but the bad kids just talked back to her (immediate detention). Eventually, those kids got onto her ( They made her CRY and didn’t give 2 shits about her, and would ignore her, up to the point you could tell she was visibly upset.) Sorry for this long-ass story :l

In middle school we weren’t allowed to:
1) Have our hair dyed because it’s somehow distracting everyone
2) guys couldn’t have hair past their ears because it’s “inappropriate” ????
3) guys also couldn’t have their ears pierced because it was also a distraction and inappropriate for whatever reason
4) No one could show their shoulders because apparently it’s going to turn everyone on
5) guys couldn’t have facial hair for whatever reason
6) the principle or whoever decided that it would be a good idea to make “roads” or something where students coming and going from specific classes had to travel specific ways to decrease “traffic.” It caused a lot of detentions for being late, and nope I didn’t follow that rule. It eventually stopped and teachers stopped mentioning it when it backfired.
7) students weren’t allowed to make any physical contact or you would get a detention. I don’t think many teachers cared tho because I’d hug my friends and my then bf all the time and didn’t get in trouble.
What really pisses me off though is that teachers didn’t have to follow any of the rules. Sometimes I really wonder why they make children follow so many rules, but they excuse all the adults. Welp that’s Louisiana for you. Just moved to Maryland though, so hopefully things are better

He tackled the person to the ground the other guy had one of the strongest kids in school pull him off then the other kid kicked my friend while on the ground. School wanted him expelled before hearing his side about sexual assault confirmed by our entire friend group they both got suspended for four days and the harassment stopped

We were allowed but during the middle of the year some kid got hurt while playing tag and had to wear a cast for a few weeks. So the teachers banned tag and running. We were in the fourth grade. Tagging and running is what we did. Oh and no physical contact either. And we didn't play with the playground equipment because they were broken for so long and the school never bothered to fix it. And there were no slides. So basically all you could do is just talk or sit down and wait for recess to be over. If that kid never played tag that would not have happened to us. Story time: So my group of friends and another group of friends decided it would be a great idea to fight over the only three way slide thing in the whole playground. This "battle" lasted for like 4 days. My group wanted to fight back, but be discreet about it. We went to breakfast and grabbed plastic forks. Right before we went out we put the forks in our sleeves. We climbed up and we stabbed their ankles. Another kid (who was never involved to begin with) snitched and my group had to turn our forks into the TA's. We just sharpened our nails and scratched them. Next day same kid snitched. The TAs tried to get us in trouble. Another kid in my group told them "These are our nails, and we can have them however we want." The fight stopped, but so did the teachers.

Yea. I got in trouble for wearing a so low brand skirt which every other girl in the school wore, and a white tank top that had a higher neck line, wasn’t low cut at all. Security guard pulled me into the office said I wasn’t wearing underwear and made me wear a jacket to cover up, it was summer btw. I was one of the few girls who was thinner but had big boobs and butt yet didn’t realize this about myself yet. This was the first time and the beginning of feeling very insecure about how I looked because the skinny girls, even chubbier girls with no shape and undeveloped were allowed to wear exactly the same thing as me. I still remember the underwear I was wearing as well. My mother was NOT happy.

I remember back in the beginning of 2020, on the first day back at school, our principal (Who we all disliked)
held an assembly, we all assumed that the majority of it was gonna be about covid-19 cause the day before we had just
learned that it had gone pandemic and all of us were pretty scared about it, when we got to the assembly, we were all sat down
in a specific spot that our teachers chose and it began. The vice principal came up first and started mentioning about how he was
proud to be working as vice principal and how great it has been and the amount of work he has put in, immediately starts talking about
himself. Then he called up the *actual* principal of the school onto the mic and she begins talking about hoodies, how it's becoming
a recurring nuisance and a serious problem, she said some bull about how we students need to comply with out given dress code and
it is right to respect the school's best intentions by doing everything they basically told us to do. After that she then spends the majority
of the time talking about how *PHONES* were apparently becoming a problem now in the courtyards and classrooms, I don't know what this
boomer was talking about because she literally made a rule that phones were banned and not to be on school grounds at all or else we would
face detention, have our phones confiscated for two days or even sent to the front office.
The principal didn't think we were complying to these rules, even though literally no one had their phones out any time during the semester (except for
some rule breakers who didn't buy in the message) so that gave her the excuse to explain how bad phones are to our social life, our health, our learning
experience and our commitment to finishing all the assigned work we were given and worst of all, she planned to start a yearly, mandatory assembly
where all of us older kids were forced to watch an hour long video about all the dangers of online interactions and how that could eventually lead to us
either getting raped, kidnapped or worse murdered, we spent the entire assembly that day being lectured about how we aren't doing our part to liberate the
school from the usage of phones and how she even plans try and get teachers to join in and make it like it's something fun?! that will never happen because
A. teachers are the adults and they can do whatever they want and B. they actually need phones in case of family emergencies or something like that.
What I hated was how the principal never even mentioned about Covid-19 and some students wanted to ask about it but the faculty shushed them and they
were quiet because it was apparently RuDe to talk over a teacher... like she ever taught us anything, I really hated that principal and hope I never get to see her
ever again because we have a new principal and is very nice to us and walks around the school greeting everyone, but the old principal was a massive hypocrite
because after wasting our time with another *Phone's are bad* chat, she immediately got out her phone and began chatting to someone and many of us took noticed
and asked about it but one teacher replied "She is the principal, she doesn't have to follow her own rules"
I loved the school and all due to the circumstances I'm in that prevent me from having to take the bullshit hard exams that most kids do but honestly sometimes
I wonder how there hasn't been a riot there yet, like after all that we will still have to go through the whole school life thing and what not and the icing on top, after
the quarantine's, the lockdown's, the endless amount of catching up to do we Yr 11's had to do, what was really shit was when another assembly that was held in the
new gym took place at the end of the school year, when the Yr 12's get congratulated on their hard work, when they got their awards and told their speeches, and after
they showed off their free dress up clothing and got to leave school early. usually after the Yr 12's leave, that's when the Yr 11's got their time to shine, to be motivated
to continue on and finish their final year, to also be congratulated on the amount of bullshit they had to go through... but instead, we were all told to stand up... then to
look up at the ceiling, the new gym was installed with giant new fans that were called, kid you not, "Big ass fan's" and with the ass in the name, we were told to look at
the fans and when we did, the vice principal turned them on, he said something cringey and the fans started spinning, we didn't get our congratulatory thanks for working
so hard or our great inspiring speech to motivate us for the next year, instead we got to look at some big ass fans whilst the vice chuckled and patted himself on the back
like he did the coolest thing in the world, he dismissed us and we all walked out feeling confused and annoyed.
I was disappointed, we never got any recognition at all by our principal, our was even in our school's student council because someone stopped coming and they needed
somebody else to help out, we got the chance to see a certain politician that everyone liked (I won't share who it was cause it might upset someone) but basically
we got the chance to meet him (It was a man, I can only say that) and we were made to wait outside of the new gym in an orderly fashioned line while they were deciding
to pick only two students who got to ask questions, we waited there for ages and it was because the politician was having lunch with... you guess it, the principal!!!
I'm glad the old principal is gone now and we've gotten a much more kinda and relatable one who actually talked in her first assembly about the importance of wearing masks,
staying safe and being sure to try and have the best positive outcome we can in these situations, she said this mainly because our old principal never brought the subject up,

My middle school had a principal who was hyper-paranoid, because she once had a gun pulled on her. So she ended up making some of the most ridiculous rules possible, such as:
- All shirts had to be tucked in. Sweatshirts, sweaters, and hoodies included.
- North Face coats and Rainbows sandals were banned for supposedly being gang clothing.
- Mandatory singing of the new school song that she wrote (which was literally "We Are the Titans," but swapped out for "Trojans"). Every morning.
- A petition against these rules circulated among the 8th grade students. Everyone who signed was threatened with suspension. The petition suddenly disappeared.

at the preschool i went to we had to say “rock paper scissors go” instead of “shoot” because “shooting is what guns do”

This wasn’t really a school rule, but when my friend was doing the ACT at her school last year, the students were not allowed to eat or drink ANYTHING despite being given water and snacks. They weren’t even allowed to touch what was given to them because they assumed everything around them was capable of giving them the test answers. She told me there was a girl who finished her test, and she took a sip of water, and they threw away her test and said it wasn’t going to be graded.. all for drinking water.
My friend was so hungry and thirsty that she literally skipped the school the rest of the day, went home and stuffed herself with food and water.
What are our schools turning into? Prisons?

My school had it to where you walk on the right side of the hall, ok fair enough. But one time I was trying to go to my locker, and it was where the hallway enters in to the lobby, and my locker was the first locker in a row, so I just go straight to the locker, but a teacher stops me and says I need to stay on the right side so I don’t run in to anyone, so they expect me to keep going straight, just to take a left, then go back, instead of just going like 5 feet to the left

I'm not sure about your country but in Singapore schools are super strict. No nail polish, no bracelets or necklaces (unless silver or gold), no ankle socks, and for earrings, can only be gold or silver, no more than one on each ear, no dangling earrings, no big-sized earrings, only small studs. We can only wear white-coloured socks and shoes. No dying hair, no tattoos or other body piercings. No fancy hair accessories, hair bands and hair clips can only be black, brown, grey or dark blue. Idk why they make those stupid rules about attire and appearance.

I remember I got a retention for just glancing at my phone to check the time because the clock in the class room wasn't working. It was an old nokia phone...with buttons, not really much I can do with it except send texts, make calls and check the time. As if I could've opened up TH-cam on that fossil of a phone.
A lot of bad kids at my school used their phones in my 8th period since my teacher was nice (they took advantage of her and didn’t listen). Even after she POLITELY told them to get off, they would still use them (but not under the desk, so you could basically see their phones). She even let them charge their phones if they needed to. After that my teacher tried to get a little bit less nicer, but the bad kids just talked back to her (immediate detention). Eventually, those kids got onto her ( They made her CRY and didn’t give 2 shits about her, and would ignore her, up to the point you could tell she was visibly upset.)
