*Conspiracy Theory:* her husband funded the entire show and wrote all of the questions and this was an elaborate sting operation, the cameras are there to give him leverage in the divorce settlement.
My theory is that she wanted to end their marriage but she didn't know how to...that's why she kept going and she said she needed to get things off of her chest. She knew what she was asked and knew that it would jeopardize the marriage...she wanted to win the money because after the divorce she needs a lil sum to fall back on

Well, also the more she answers, the more money she might walk away with, and she was going all the way. It's his job to build tension too. Not saying he didn't feel bad for them, but in my opinion, there were worse episodes than this one.
@@lizzyblitz07 The other episodes? It's been years since I watched, so I couldn't give you specific ones, but there were multiple instances of cheating, theft (and other illegal stuff like alleged child abuse), breaking of family's/spouses trust, etc. If they're still on youtube, you can watch and see. In my opinion, this one didn't comparatively deserve the host's warning.
Maybe during the polygraph test, she answered yes but the polygraph recorded that she was lying. So she didn't know what the "truth" was according to the polygraph and just repeated what she said.
One of the unaired episodes actually had a participant win the $500,000 prize after answering yes to: “Do you believe your father, as an adult, has ever had sexual relations with a minor?”
“Fun” Facts 1) There is a Board game version of this with questions just as personal. 2) Only one person won the $500,000 and the last question was whether or not she believed her father was a pedophile.
i got one better for you: on the serbian edition of the show Trenutak istine there was a woman who was a victim of sexual abuse by her father and the question she got asked was "did you ever achieve an orgasm when your father abused you" and she said yes. It's a really heavy topic to discuss but she (the contestant) said she wanted to help people who have had or are having similar experiences, but still damn, really fucked up
Lauren: Admits to previously been terminated from employment due to theft of the establishment's profits. Also Lauren: Has the dimple-faced nerve to claim that "the money doesn't matter to me".
“Frank, are you unhappy?” “Sometimes.” She looked utterly shocked by that. Like she isn’t a gold digging, stealing, manipulative, lying, cheating attention seeker. You’re lucky he only said sometimes.
No kidding! He is handsome as hell. If he had a personality to match then he’s a catch. I don’t think she could find better. That other Frank wasn’t even cute.
She really believed she's a good person after hurting her husband like that on TV for money. If she really wanted to get things out of her chest she should have done it at home. She wanted the money.
The thing is she didnt really think she was a good person....thats why she failed that question on the Polly and why when she said she did, the voice said that was false
Sorry if this was already addressed.... but you do realize that this show was cancelled after someone on a foreign version got caught sort of admitting to a murder conspiracy?
Just gonna say that feeling like you have to lie to “get out” of sex is just bad communication. In a healthy relationship both people should create an environment where you can just be honest about that 🤷🏻♀️
When I originally watched this video, I was thinking that the ex was an insane person for wanting to be on the show to ask those questions....now I wonder if he knew what she was like (presumably why they broke up) and wanted to warn the other Frank about it in a very roundabout way. Idk though.
Lauren: admits to stealing from her job, cheats on her husband, is a horrible person Audience: YEAH! LET'S FUCKING GO! Me: What the fuck is wrong with you?
To play devil’s advocate, I think they basically knew she had cheated on Frank, and were just happy she wasn’t lying (though given that it’s 2000’s reality TV, it’s really a toss-up)
I think they were applauding how ballsy it is to admit to something like that in front of an audience and on national television. They weren't applauding the answer so much as applauding her honesty.
What a perfect ending - Frank gets a clean divorce with footage to prove her infidelity - She gets no money and loses Franks money - And she gets to live with all of this with no reward because she knows in her heart that she is trash
A N in the US, divorce and marriage laws are immensely biased towards women and they almost always win and the men lose everything. Because he has evidence of her admitting what she has done, he likely has a better chance at not having half of his wealth stolen by her.
@Gold Rose A huge inexcusable waste, I really feel bad for Frank, he was really dying internally when the question about her avoiding to have sex with him came up, like you could that from that point, things were about to go down like a helicopter crash

But now he will have trust issues his entire life and the humiliation from this show. Yes, she is the one that deserves the humiliation, but some will put it on Frank instead. I hope not though.
My stepmom Sophia once attempted to get on this show. She nearly made it on but quit when testing the questions (the part that happens before the show) and was asked if “she loved her real kids more than her step kids (me and my sister)”. Me and my sister were supposed to be in the audience…..
The other Frank regretted coming on the show, and said the appearance made him "sick". Frank and Lauren were separated, but apparently hold no Ill will toward each other.
Frances Gardner I thought you learn from a young age not to judge a book by its cover. He seems like a decent guy, but let’s not pretend we actually know what he’s like. What we do know is that that woman is terrible and I’m glad she didn’t win a single penny
While I do feel bad for frank, i also feel like him knowing all of that now allows him to find happiness. Though that shit shouldn't have been blasted on live television
Hadolf itler yeah but still he’s married to someone worse than the devil o think it was good so that prospects of this woman being married are pretty much ruined

Yami Yugi sounds like it to me to but never know without knowing the story behind it. He could’ve been 17 and girl 16 in some states. 18 and girl 17 in some states or even 19 and girl 18 in some states like Alabama. Used to be a different world back then when men and women used to marry when a man was early 20s and a girl 15-18 too. Just didn’t want to call the man a pedo without knowing
I don’t get why she acts so distressed before answering some of the questions. Didn’t she already take the polygraph test? So she should already know all the questions right?
That part was confusing me too.. Like, by the time they go onstage they already know what the questions will be.. Why go on the show at all if you weren't prepared to be honest?
They ask a lot of questions that don’t make it in, she doesn’t know which ones they are until they ask. She’d probably remember the really big questions like the cheating one but once she was there in front of her family and an audience she started freaking out because you can’t prepare for that
Emmitt Nervend I think you are right! That’s why she looked surprised when she found out she isn’t really a good person 🥴 I just didn’t think of that before lol
I find it cute that you thought that these questions were random and that they did not have inside information from family and friends. Like they have to have to, to ask such specific questions.

My sadistic mind was thinking like "Have you ever gotten pregnant with your husband and gotten an abortion without telling him- fully knowing my boi Frank wants a kid?"
@@leafyisqueer7155 if that's what they did, then the show's premise isn't coherent. They should determine truth and lie based on the polygraph - which isn't reliable at all, but that's what they claim to do.
Ironically, after learning more about the story behind these two, it seems that she was able to answer the question about staying in touch with old boyfriends truthfully, not because she hadn’t done it, but because Frank probably already knew about it.
Same. I only realized it was real after watching this. I'm pretty sure I watched this exact episode as well. I was 8 so a lot of this went over my head.
By the way she acted, it was obvious she was regretting getting married to the guy and this was a simple way to get out of it and make some money on top, you can tell by how easy it was for her to answer all those questions about cheating etc, she didn't give a crap and would divorce him even if she didn't go on that show. What was more interesting to me was her ex boyfriend, so they secretly invite some person from the contestant's past to ask one of the questions right? But what if the contestant fails before that? "Uhhh sorry Dave, Jane fucked up on the third question and is out, have fun on your 12 hour flight back home after you wasted all this time traveling here for nothing"
even if she was going to divorce him anyway, to humiliate him like that in front of a national audience and her entire family is just so, so cruel actually? like she absolutely didn’t have to do that to him. she didn’t have anything to lose but imagine lacking so much empathy that she was willing to do this to her husband....
Given that polygraphs are basically just a step above psychics I'd be so pissed if I got a question like "have you ever cheated on your wife?", answered no and got told I was lying. Not only did I lose a bunch of money but now my marriage is fucked up and millions of people think I'm a scumbag and I have basically nothing I can do to prove that I didn't cheat
PLOT TWIST: She asked them to ask those questions specifically because she wanted to get the money, AND tell her husband without having to directly tell him to his face
This reminds me of that black mirror episode where everyone had a chip on their minds that recorded everything coming from their perspective. And with that amount of evidence, the slightest bit of distrust could ruin whole marriages, friendships, jobs, etc.

Edit: having reread my comment I still see it's not clear. First: I agree with OP in that she is knowing that all this past stuff could be dragged up as they want to make hard questions.
Second: is that at the time of questioning she could have thought "well I'm not a killer" and said yes
Third: I guess my true argument is that if someone is taking a test on telling the truth they tend to try and think about what question might be asked, ex: cheating.
Forth: only time she wouldn't look like a bad person is in one scenario: Stage Answer[SA]: NO, Poly Answer[PA]: NO and Polygraph[P]: true.
The worst one is SA: NO, PA: Yes, P: false

Monika: "Yeah, no one wants to hear that."
She probably thought she was protecting her sister. Because she probably already knew the answer.
She really believed she's a good person after hurting her husband like that on TV for money. If she really wanted to get things out of her chest she should have done it at home. She wanted the money.
Fax
Not fax, she said that because she didn't want people to know the truth about her.
But real question is: who the fuck makes questions like that, this would be a red flag for me...
She actually doesn’t think she’s a good person because her answer was false. But she wants to believe she’s good.
The thing is she didnt really think she was a good person....thats why she failed that question on the Polly and why when she said she did, the voice said that was false
Imagine if she answered yes to the question about cheating on her husband and the polygraph said it was false
Would that be better or worse?
if you ask me, it would be worse. if she's that desperate to make her husband unhappy with her, what would her reasons be?

a. she REALLY wants to get rid of Frank at any expense
b. the polygraph didn't catch her lying
I think that's when a fight breaks out.
