The sheer ammount of engineering that had to come together for this to function at this price is astounding. I honestly didn't think I'd have rdr2 handheld at a reasonable price for at least 5 years due to how bone dry the handheld market has been.
True story me neither or games like ready or not or cyberpunk 2077 or witcher 3, forza 5 the list goes on and on, thanks to the steamdeck i actually have played through Bioshok 1 and 2. for the first time not comparable to the switch version graphic or control wise. And usually im not the kind of guys that realy plays trough games and finishes them. Thats why i enjoy roguelikes so much. Alltough the switch is not bad but this was the best purchase i did in the last decade. I love it and to play such stuff on the go is a dream come true
Best Steam Deck channel in the world! I made a modification to make the battery last longer, I put the textures on high and enabled the fsr in balanced mode, so I can use it with 9 TDP at 30 Fps.
I found a better and more beautiful option to make the battery last longer, I put all the settings that PixelDeck made, then I lowered the textures to high, low shadow, medium TAA and activated the resolution scale to 75%, it looks much more beautiful than using the Balanced fsr, running at a stable 30fps at TDP 9 with GPU at 1100
These settings are pretty dang great !!!compared to the last ones which caused artifacting shiny areas and some strange textures probs the sharpness and fsr much prefer with no fsr and x8 plus proton ge35 that’s the secret sauce thank boys great work !!!!

Just wondering, I noticed that your battery is fixed at 93% without going up nor down throughout the entire 20 min test demo. This means it must be using some kind of power passthrough since your deck is plugged into an external power source (as shown by the icon beside the battery level). Is there any way to force the deck to use power passthrough like you did? Whenever I plugged into the power adapter while gaming, it will still charge my battery at the same time while playing, which is not what I want. The heat will kill my deck very quickly and I want to somehow force it to use power passthrough. Thanks in advance! and thanks for the brilliant settings recommendation!
Thank you! Ultra textures is totally fine. The VRAM will increase with any taxing settings but the Steam Deck handles it wonderfully. There is no significant gains in performance when dropping the textures to high.
Can u share your "system" xml file from settings folder? Im havving problems to save the settings and I found one way to solve but I have no idea what to set there

The performance at 4GB is terrible. There was a glitch introduced in the last update that causes a bottleneck. We are running at 30 fps because it is the most stable across the board. FSR 2.0 works but the visuals aren’t as good and you don’t get a solid 40 unless you sacrifice great visuals. Even then it’s not perfect. We arrived at our settings with all things considered and provide the most stable performance with the greatest graphical fidelity.

Why you didnt explain what the point of using protonGE, I mean the game works perfectly fine without selecting any proton version... so what's the point exactly to use protonGE? :)
The game may work ok without selecting a proton if it’s labeled as “playable” or “verified”. This is because there was a proton selected by Valve during its testing and if deemed playable or verified, the proton associated with their testing is automatically selected when you launch the game. However, GE-Protons do things that Valve’s are prohibited from doing. The Glorious Eggroll team provides fixes for many issues including those that enhance performance. This is why we use GE-Protons. With this game in particular, it offers better performance as well as other items that may or may not have been addressed in whatever proton (I’m assuming 7.0-6) Valve defaults to.

If you use any other proton we cannot guarantee the same performance. I will say that switching to another proton (unless fixes or optimization are aimed directly at this game) will not suddenly give you a stable 40fps with these settings.

I grew up playing Atari, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, PlayStation, Xbox etc. You don’t need any game to run at 60 fps for it to be enjoyable. I do not understand how anyone would rather let a great experience, story, etc slip through their fingers because of fps OCD.

Mine wont open with proton on i have to take it off for the not to crash at the rockstar logo. HELP.

I only use a 512GB card with a 512GB Steam Deck. You can delete shaders for games you’re not playing to free up space.

How did you make your *play* button orange in the start of the video
If you get "decky loader" and download "css loader," you can download different themes.
I downloaded "outrun theme" so I could switch my colors.
Why AMD FSR off? Wouldn't that give better performance?
Because we do not like FSR if we can help it. And no, the performance is not much better with it. We aim for the greatest graphical fidelity.
So these settings is not that compatible with Cemu and BOTW? Since CU seem to wanna run that with Uma buffer of 4gb?
You don’t need 4GB buffer size to run CEMU.
Could you also achieve locked 30 FPS by using Vsync = Half instead of capping via steam deck overlay ?

These are for SteamOS. You can try to apply them to another launcher but it’s crucial to have the shader cache loaded.

Because it is a smoother experience than to let it bounce from 40 to 34 back to 38 etc. We prefer a consistent frame pacing.
Instead of 35 does the setting apply to 55?
We prefer 35. You can try 55 but if the performance does not prove to be equal or better I would switch back 👍

@@indrockz92 Absolutely!!! Unfortunately, there are some that have been playing PC so long, they are fixated on frame rate. I grew up playing Atari, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, PlayStation, Xbox etc. You don’t need any game to run at 60 fps for it to be enjoyable. I do not understand how anyone would rather let a great experience, story, etc slip through their fingers because of fps OCD.
@@pixeldeckgaming You just stole my words. Apart from competitive FPS like Counter Strike, Pubg, Apex legends, Splitgate, Overwatch, Valorant etc. A stable 30fps gameplay >> stable 60fps.
