Maybe only a steam engine is a living thing, but hot bulbs and diesels with big, exposed rocker arms at under 200 rpm are awfully close! Oh, and those big old school v-twin Harley and Indians come pretty close too 😀
When recording pls pan a little slower, then stop and hold the camera motionless a bit longer so I can watch the mechanical parts operating! Thanks! Great engine vid!
Mak, Callesen, Wichmann, B&W Alpha, they all make beautiful sounds like lullabies.
Old lump of iron engines were made to last forever ❤
that's why they all went bankrupt
Unfortunately, the maintenance effort is high.
Every 100 years, the valves have to be adjusted.
A reversing engine. Nice!
Mate of mine had a glenniffer in a tug , i use to call it the lullaby engine such a beautiful unhurried sound the way a diesel should sound .
Lovely❤

What does it look like at full power and how many RPMs can it turn?😲
At zero rpm's it turns.. the whole engine will work the other way..

Having had experience operating both Marine Diesel and Marine Steam engines I know I preferred working with Marine Steam, so much less noise !
I think you can better go sailing then 😉
Slow, steady runner. How much torque being produced?
850nm

Thank you!
@@chuckg2016 It is more like 14000Nm
