    Hell to the yeah. I worked there in Beloit Wi. It was a pride and duty to create the monstrous Pielstick propulsion units for the U.S. Navy. Our O.P. engines were used in countless locomotive and power generation units. I bleed pride when looking back at my career there. It was an awesome union job that supported my family of 6. That factory drove economic opportunity for the region and beyond. That it's still there today is a testament to the labor force and management working together to craft these powerful engines

    The first is a lovely old power pack, it could do service today if needed. Listen to the lovely sound, no bearing knocking to be heard.

    Great engines!! Fairbanks Morse built different engines for different purposes.

    We are spoiled these days, but we need to remember that way back in those days these machines freed us from manual labor drudgery and allowed mass production.

    Did that engine stretch the head bolts on start up? I seen exhaust come out of what looks like the head.

    Fairbanks Morse engines should be either gray or green. Ried Engines being red.
