I’m watching this on my 10.5” Pro. I upgraded from my mini 4 and I remember trying to ignore the 10.5” Pro unboxing, reviews, drop tests, etc. because I didn’t want to feel like I need to get it so bad. Well, those days have been over for almost a year now.
Mike Ferrara Well, if you did what apple wants you to do, and updated your iOS, then its worth upgrading. If not, and you're still on an old iOS and your experience is still fast and snappy as hell, There's absolutely no reason to spend a thousand bucks on a thing that almost does the same things. Just my opinion.
I’m really glad that Apple made their Pro lineup more uniform between both models. The first iPad Pros weren’t released at the same time, and had a huge gap in features, speed, camera, and most importantly, price. But the biggest issue was that the cheaper model had more features and new technologies, like the True-Tone Display, 12 megapixel camera, etc. I feel like this really discouraged many people from picking up the 12 inch model, since it was basically outdone in almost every aspect by the newer 9.7 inch. This new generation really helps iron out those issues and make both models equally compelling for most consumers, and much easier for people to understand when trying to decide between them.
Just got the 10.5 inch, took it to class today and loved taking notes with notability and the iPencil. This was the best size choice for me since I was wanting portability as well. I just feel that the 12.9 inch is too big for my hand as well when reading vertically.
That A10X blows every SoC out there. Its single core score is 3900+ and a whopping 9300+ multi core score. That's crazy, imagine how powerful will the A11 would be on the iPhone 8.
Steve Synan I'm not sure if you made a decision, but I would go for a 10.5. You're not only saving money, you're also allowing yourself to carry the iPad around anywhere you might need to go without struggling.

It would be great if you switched your videos to 60fps ! Especially with you reviewing all the devices that you do, i would love to see just how fluid, fast, and smooth devices are, and we just can't see that when you upload at 30fps.
Very detailed review like always. I'm not sure how he is only at 1M, def deserves more. Abt the video tho, these iPads are very tempting, but I will stay with the Surface line-up from Microsoft to get that full desktop experience.

UltimateR1 Apple intentionally throttles the performance speeds for older devices through iOS system/maintenance updates immediately after they release new products to persuade consumers to keep buying the next new thing. Planned obsolescence -- intentionally capping the performance of older iPhones to encourage people to buy new ones. With that in mind, I pulled the trigger anyway and bought a 6th Gen, 12.9 iPad Pro yesterday through T-Mobile only because of the dramatic price drop, plus i only really want it for quickly editing parameters on my Roland Integra-7. If anything, at least it's something cool and new to play and produce music on and get to see what all the fuss and hype is about for Apple products. Guess I'll find out soon enough.
