For me it is 4 years and still shocked by DIMASH; listen to him daily all that time too. No one else can sing to my soul like DIMASH does. SOS and Love is Like a Dream were my favorite songs before I ever heard DIMASH, and before he was born (on both songs I think). But I heard him sing SOS and I was shocked to my core, and instantly had to hear him all the time, then he did Love is Like a Dream and I about lost my mind; his versions were the best for me. I thought no one could do either song as well as the originals, but man was I ever wrong.
Freddy was all about exploring musical possibilities of all genres of music and mixing all elements of each together; DIMASH was heavily influenced by him as he also crosses genres and mixes them also in one song. They are the only two singers I have heard that did that to excellence.

Dimash is an amazing singer. It’s more than his range, which is already spectacular, it’s his technique. That’s why a lot of people mention he’s like 4 singers in one. He uses classical technique, folkloric, pop, rock, middle-East... As I mentioned in a previous comment, it’s a gift and a curse because his audience becomes demanding and expects those vocal acrobatics every time he sings. I agree, one should see more to understand what he is about. Just for a change, I'd recommend some of his more emotional songs to show that he is not only about range and vocal skills. He is a wonderful storyteller and expresses emotions so well. Maybe 'Autumn strong' from Singer competition? It was the next song after 'Show must go on'. Preferably with backstory, but at least with subs.

I love Queen and Dimash got me on that one. He started one octave down and went all the way up until he became a human (?) Red Special. I was on the edge of my seat. He surprised me when he sung the 1st chorus with a falsetto and then was brave enough to bring some operatic voice (Freddie would love it) into the 2nd one. Bravo! People will obviously ask you to follow a chronological list of songs, but I want to suggest a few of a more mature Dimash: Your love (with amazing key changes), Across Endless Dimensions (a movie main theme - watch the last version on his channel - he sung it live and it looks like he's under the sea) and two more recent pop-ish songs (also sung in English), both his own, both great music videos, Screaming and Be With Me. Dimash understands the importance of conveying the real story of music through performance. His total commitment to the story in appearance, dress, body language, and emotion is like a mini-opera. Or a Popera if you like. His intense operatic, blues, jazz, folk, world, and pop music training are all elements within the story. Every performance is a work of art.
This was performed about four years ago....if you continue to react to Dimash then you have a real treat in store. I've been watching Dimash's videos now for a year and he always surprises me with each performance. I'm 70 years old and I've listened to a lot of really good singers over the years, but no offence to Freddy, Dimash is the best I've ever heard or seen. He is truly a once in a lifetime performer.

This was in Singer 2017 He was either 22 or 23. Another fun one was ALL BY MYSELF. It was done in English, which he is just learning so please allow for that. On Singer 2017 he was learning both English and Mandarin. He said Mandarin is very difficult. He is really learning English and singing a lot of new songs in English because as soon as COVID permits, he is coming to the US for two years to study. Dimash is ALWAYS learning. Right now he is going for his Doctorate in Composition. He aced his Masters. ALL BY MYSELF is important to watch on Singer 2017 because he carries it on to a lot of his concerts, Watching the original sets you up for the little changes you will see later. .

I agree, one should see more to understand what he is about. Just for a change, I'd recommend some of his more emotional songs to show that he is not only about range and vocal skills. He is a wonderful storyteller and expresses emotions so well. Maybe 'Autumn strong' from Singer competition? It was the next song after 'Show must go on'. Preferably with backstory, but at least with subs.

I love Queen and Dimash got me on that one. He started one octave down and went all the way up until he became a human (?) Red Special. I was on the edge of my seat. He surprised me when he sung the 1st chorus with a falsetto and then was brave enough to bring some operatic voice (Freddie would love it) into the 2nd one. Bravo!
People will obviously ask you to follow a chronological list of songs, but I want to suggest a few of a more mature Dimash: Your love (with amazing key changes), Across Endless Dimensions (a movie main theme - watch the last version on his channel - he sung it live and it looks like he's under the sea) and two more recent pop-ish songs (also sung in English), both his own, both great music videos, Screaming and Be With Me.
Another great song (in Russian) with great vocal variation is Sinful Passion.

Hi, thankyou for reacting to Dimash. I am an Italian Dear (name that Dimash gave to his fan) welcome to Dimash World. I guess you will no longer be able to leave it as we do. His voice is a drug you will become addicted to. It is a wonderful disease, we Dears do not want to heal. If you keep reacting to Dimash you will find that he sings POP, JAZZ, OPERA, RAP, R&B and more. He is born in Kazakhstan in 1994, he has 6 octaves and a bunch of semitones. He sings from Baritone to Soprano and whistle register. He has a degree in all the aforementioned genres and the last degree he received is in composition. He has been attending the stage since he was 5 and at 6 he won first prize playing the piano. He plays 7 instruments, including piano, guitar, drums, dombra, xylophone and more. He sang in 12 languages but speaks 3. Thanks to his perfectionist character, when he sings in languages he does not know, he learns the meaning sentence by sentence in order to give the right intensity and always manages to move the audience even up to cry. He always sings live and every time he sings the same song it is never the same but always a masterpiece. This was performed about four years ago....if you continue to react to Dimash then you have a real treat in store. I've been watching Dimash's videos now for a year and he always surprises me with each performance. I'm 70 years old and I've listened to a lot of really good singers over the years, but no offence to Freddy, Dimash is the best I've ever heard or seen. He is truly a once in a lifetime performer.

Dimash is an amazing singer.
This was in Singer 2017 He was either 22 or 23. Another fun one was ALL BY MYSELF. It was done in English, which he is just learning so please allow for that. On Singer 2017 he was learning both English and Mandarin. He said Mandarin is very difficult. He is really learning English and singing a lot of new songs in English because as soon as COVID permits, he is coming to the US for two years to study. Dimash is ALWAYS learning. Right now he is going for his Doctorate in Composition. He aced his Masters. ALL BY MYSELF is important to watch on Singer 2017 because he carries it on to a lot of his concerts, Watching the original sets you up for the little changes you will see later.

Amazing performance. Dimash spoke very little English and learnt the song phonetically. He was only 22 yrs old here and ended up placing second on this show. He turned 27 in May this year.
