Can't wait to buy a couple of these. Got two japanese saturns in absolute mint condition that could use some love.
Getting one for sure brilliant 😃
if I understand correctly the LEDs remain
constantly on? I'm not going to pull the furniture every time to unplug
Hopefully an original Xbox power supply next
Nice, please usb c mods for Gamecube snes, nes, sega genesis and other retro consoles.
Real sleek design taking into account all the various freaking versions. Good stuff!
Thanks
The HST-3200 and HST-3210 were not taken into account.
Source: I have an HST-3200 and several parts of the kit simply doesn't fit without hours of DIY work.
For my education, what is the name of the connector that goes on the console’s big pins? I’ve always wondered but never found the answer.
Have you considered making a clean juice for the ps2 fat and slim? i think that would work well.😂
Yes please
Just finished installing this into my HST-3200 and I have to say, while the end-result is great (video signal cleans up real nice and there's virtually no heat build-up) I still can't recommend the product.
The T-shaped bracket included in the kit is, as is clear in the video, not at all t-shaped. It also doesn't fit into the HST-3200 saturn (also known as VA0) unless you cut or sand the plastic rectangles included in the kit. To make matters worse, the usb-c daughter-board doesn't even fit against the not-so-T-shaped bracket, the daughter-board is too wide and I'm not about to sand down the PCB.
There's also no double-sided tape included with the kit so I had make do with velcro tape which just barely holds the main board in place.
All in all, not worth the hours of effort when there are other similar products (though they may not offer usb-c) that don't need hours of fabricating just to fit the board inside.
I don't believe the manufacturer of this device even checked whether it would fit inside the HST-3200 or HST-3210.
Thanks for the warning! I had plans on buying this for my HTS-3200 because the PSU was fried.
@Squad2ND it fits fine. You don't cut anything. Many people installed it fine. It's meant to fit on inside not outside for VA0
@@RetroSix This is just categorically false, the cubes you receive need to be filed down to not flex the case of the HST-3200.
@MasqueradePW have it installed in my own fine as well as many many customers with them in without problem. Nobody has ever filed them down yet
@RetroSix I know you're eager to drive purchases to your product but don't lie, I own only a japanese HST-3200 (also an HST-3210 but that one has the stock PSU inside it) and installed your USB-C power supply. I had to file the corners down and I had to file the rear-facing section down to fit flush in the HST-3200 case. You block negative reviews on your website so of course there are no reviews that mention this problem.
Don't try to trick people into buying your product if there are other options that might fit them better.
Would you happen to have a 3d print model for the va0 Saturn that can be used to better mount the board to those Saturn models?
Awesome. Is this compatible when using the M.O.D.E ?
Yes I've tried it on that already. Got to try it on Fenrir too but no reason why not
@RetroSix I didn't see where I can connect the power to it. Using the older powersupply I can insert the ground and power cable to the proper connector. Would I have to solder the power cable from the mode ?
@@jeff15 no just plug in USB. It will come with USB C support bracket so the USB C input is exactly where the mains power once was. No soldering
@RetroSix I am using a mechanical drive with the mode.
Hi can I use a 12V 7.5A power supply adapter with a DC connector 2.1mm x 5.5mm? Is the USB-C connector necessary?
What plug do you need? What voltage?
Any 30 watt or more that supports at least 9V ideally 15V
Will this support mods such as TerraOnion MODE with a high capacity SSD and fan?
Yes it does. It's out now on our site
Hello
If i use 5v psu on 3.3v console what will happen?
A question: theorically you could power a 4 pin (gnd gnd 5v 5v) Saturn directly using a USB conector, right? ?
I tried to turn on mine, and i would not work, even feeding the correct Voltage on the pins, theres any kind of protection that I'm not aware?
I assume a even a smartphone recharger 5v 3a (15w) should power it on, am I wrong?
You could be you need USB C PD as would pull 5A combined
@@RetroSix that would amount to about 25w? My Saturn has a 12w sticker, so I assumed that would be enough...
Thank you.
One rail alone pulls 2.1A and the other will pull more. You can't pull more than 2.1A from USB C without negotiation so it's likely that
@@RetroSix oh, makes sense, thank you!
So does it connect to a standard usb c power brick?
Yep so long as it's 12 or 15v
Looking good Luke for a prototype, i wish i still had my Saturn to test, does it say Magic Sauce any where, like your Game Gear boards ? 😁
weird 1 year later i have a Saturn and have ordered this today..
