Forlong is S Tier on a horse, he has a war horn (30 points) 3 might, 1 will 1 fate (25 points) then look at his stat line for a mounted hero of valour with a war horn, and a 6" bubble of free feinting all for 45 points, also he has 3 wounds, thats incredible the amount of times my opponent thinks they are only 1 wound away from killing him cause they scored a lucky wound and then you remind them he has 3 wounds, the look on your opponents face is priceless. Great vid again though lads.
Those are some incredibly valid points. In retrospect i think he should be on the cusp of S Tier. He's an absolute tank and yeah I don't see him as a 80pt model as he should always be on horse. -Sean
As someone who has run all three and 36 Clansmen in a 600 Point List I can say that Angbor is a great babysitter for Clansmen, he's a banner to them and he's fearless so you can safely send them away from Imrahil without losing the benefits. He's a great hero to lead a small group of clansman to go deal with a Troll or hunt down a siege engine or kill a ringwraith hiding in the backline for the same reasons.
For Duinhir I would take Mountain Dweller off the Rangers and make his asterix rule "Give Models within 6 inches Woodland Creature and Mountain Dweller". Not crazy but it gives you a reason to take him in a mixed list. Or even a pure Clansman list...
That'd be a great rule change for Duinhir, just something that actually works on more than just his archers I love Angbor personally tbh, just an all around solid profile -Liam
You move those pikes to high A/S tier right now! Justice for the pike gods! I'd also drop the mounted knights to A. They're just too expensive for what you get. I rarely take more than 3/4 depending on points. clansmen with pike supports, imrahil behind gives you a courage 5 (6 if forlongs on the table) front line with F5 pike supports. +1 to wound on feinting clansmen and immys banners for the pikes. Chuck a couple of foot knights in to shield as your lines thin out etc and maybe a sprinkling of axes to help break up even numbered defences are you're laughing. meanwhile you've either got angbor vibing in the middle of your line seeking out heroes or chunk daddy forlong and his knights he borrowed from immy rinsing back line targets and having a great time. All of this after your opponent has sat crying about how best to come at you while Duinhir and the bois remove all of their horses and things. Sod it, put the whole damn army in S tier. We move.
Let just put all armies in S Tier minus ruffians hahahaha they can sit in A Tier. Nah man I love everything you are saying. I've definitely had a bit of a retrospect looks and some of the comments such as yours have shedded some new light for me. And that's exactly why we do these. -Sean
Well Clansmen are D4 and will die to shooting, also S4 is meta and will kill them easily on 4s. Clansmen backed up by pikes can be awesome, but they can die rather quickly
@@CapitanCorner depends on whos meta you're talking about, but yes we see a lot of S4 but the fact that you're backed up by the pikes with F5 from immy and have the banners etc mean that you rarely lose the fights. And sure if you lose a fight you die. but if you win they die. And you're going to be winning more
@@AtomicCards The biggest problem is shooting. Clansmen are D4 in the first row. They will suffer heavily under shooting. S2 Bows already wounding on 5. Crossbow wounding on 4 and the phalanx is not mobile. No access to blinding light, just expensive march with the captain. In Germany we play a lot of Harad-Umbar max bows and crossbows, Harad with the Betrayer, Isengard with 1/3 Crossbows. Sorry mate at a tournament in a shooting match up the clansmen will suffer badly.
@@NoobsandMen You can really skip Angbor and just play C6 Clansmen if you don't have the points for both Angbor and Forlong. I really don't like how the rules disinsentivize playing Angbor together with his troops. Either you play Angbor and have all troops within 6" fearless anyway or you play Clansmen and don't need the fearless bubble.
Oh yeah, this is gonna be a controversial one. From me with my trash hot takes that is! Our local Fiefdoms player takes Furlong over Angbor every day of the working week. Chunk daddy on horse is crazy good value and has a clear and defined role in every game, which is important in the bubble based game of Feifdoms. However, here is the big take. The steamy crap pile of a take that will likely be laughed away, but one our fiefdoms player playtested for years before declaring, and the best players in our meta considering, and agreeing too. Fiefdoms knights are a rort. They're a more expensive black numenorian, without terror. The difference they have between F4 and F5 obviously only matters when they're fighting an F4 or F5 enemy (so about half the time) And obviously they also are restricted to being 3 inches close to big daddy to get that as well. So half the time you're STRICTLY WORSE than a Morgul Knight, for 2 extra points. And that doesn't even factor in games where you want them to be F5 when they hit the enemy, but aren't, because you can't safely engage with Imrahil due to magic, his horse dying or the threat of a nearby assassin waiting for him to hit the front line. Now yes, Prince daddys 12 inch banner is a factor here, but realistically, for knights its a 3 inch banner if you want that bonus, and Mordor has access to Suladan/Dark Marshall. He's playing more of a pike centric style now, with f5 pike blocks re rolling 1 to wound frustrating the enemy, wearing down might, and then imrahil, and maybe a couple of knights (2-3 at 750+ maximum) swooping in. I'd consider them bottom of A, top of B. Ps, as for your Rivendell tier list, I took Erestor to a 400pt tournament in sydney, went unbeaten, and Erestor was a HOUSE. A 2 story brick house with double garage and ducted air. He head hunted shagrat and womped him in one game. Never died across 4 games and got some CLUTCH kills with his throwing daggers. 85pts of value.
Id very very much consider having imrail on foot with my shield wall whilst big chunky boi is running around with a couple of Knights gives the banner a bit more use and a F5 shield wall/pike block is crazy good. The knights on foot I don't mind but yes your right, they are more expensive black nums with a lil less. But mounted knights S tier with out a doubt even if you only take 3-4 -Sean -Sean
@@NoobsandMen the thing is, MT does F5 shield wall better with bozza, in my opinion. Cheap as chips troops and you still get a bunch of bows practically for free with the rangers. Now, if you'd combine the two however. Say hello to F6 shieldwall.
I know for myself I found that forlong is really powerful with a Minas tirith alliance. Give your front line warriors c5. That is not bad and if you keep him screened against enemy heroes then you can keep him alive. Just got to protect him. He struggles without the strike though.
Angbors my man, anything Scottish gets my vote. Do you think GW will ever do more of the feifdoms? I got an old white dwarf(295) where they converted up a tonne of different ones.
Also about dunharrow starting out, hobby wise its the easiest army to paint and get on the table, so I think that even thought its not as complete as gondor as a beginner army, its way easier just to jump into and to play. Thats why its the army I would suggest getting in mesbg if youre starting out :))
That's absolutely a factor mate! Personally I find armies like Isengard, Gondor or Rohan introduce a few more of the mechanics of the game but if you're after tough and easy to paint it's a great beginner -Liam

Blackroot should be S. You are underestimating all their rerolls. I was playing against Moria and I nearly broke them with solely shooting. In one round I took out 11 goblins.
every bowmen can have a good turn of shooting. The re rolls are good don't get us wrong, but basing off one game of shooting goblins isnt exactly reason for S tier haha -Liam
Men at arms get A tier when you ally in Gondor and have Ingold with a front line of Gondor warriors. They lose their shield wall rule on the ends of the line, but you’ve essentially created a slightly better easterling pike block since you don’t have to back away
You've only really got about 6inches of that tho since ingolds rule only extends 3 inch either side. So roughly 7 units in a line including Ingold. Also even tho he doesn't back up losing a fight you can still be counted as trapped and so any fights you lose in that line will be a trapped model -Liam
We will definitely keep that in mind for a future video. I hope you and the wife come across to MESBG it's such an amazing hobby with such amazing ppl. Best gaming community I've ever been apart of. -Sean
the Herold of the dead is not realy good. he is not Bad but the problem is that he has no own might and the Resistant to magic is nice but the only model that kind of cares about is is the Herold as the King has 6 Will points and troops do not realy need it.
On his own he's okay, a str 4 model wounding courage is quite nice and you'd be surprised how much resistance to magic can help troops, but the ability to bump the might of the king makes him as good as he is
