In the final day of our wilderness living survival challenge, we indulge in butcher box steak and bacon. This is the reward for completing 7 days of eating just wild foods!

The Wilderness Living Challenge is not a "survival challenge," but more like a test of the modern hunter gatherer to sustain himself on wild foods only. We will weight ourselves at the start of the challenge and weight out at the end. If we lose any weight at all, we lose the challenge!

I am joined by Zach Fowler on his home turf in Maine, USA in the spring.
Here, we plan to do Season 5 of The Wilderness Living Challenge. The goal of the challenge is to gain or maintain our body weight eating only the wild food we can collect on site using whatever means necessary.
Winning the Wilderness Living Challenge is harder than it seems.
Season 5: Maine Spring, takes place in Maine, USA with coastal food priorities including fish, clams, crab, seaweed, groundhog, pigeon, turkey, dandelion, cattail, and whatever else is edible! Nothing is off the menu, if it's edible, we'll eat it.
We make use of all the resources in this challenge to meet the demands for calories imposed by the human body!

The Wooded Beardsman I honestly taut yous were gonna loose a lot more weight! I know what it’s like having to gather just to keep the stomach satisfied 💪🏼really loved this as the ocean can be a great place for food in general but you’ll need your greens from the land also 👌🏼

would you be interested in taking someone on a seven-day wilderness living challenge who has knowledge of survival but has never acted upon the knowledge and average weight or overweight to see the results of someone with knowledge with who has never acted upon it and with no survivor muscles
One day, I really want to see you, jeremy, zack and bob hansler do a hardcore wilderness living challenge or something similar together as a crew. I love watching all of you and really appreciate you sharing your profound knowledge with all of us.

I know a wealthy old man who worked hard, made decent money, but grew up poor. Every year he always went and shot a muskrat to eat it because he always said you can never forget what the food you eat really means (not just pleasure but survival) and you're never too good for anything. Refreshing to know there are still people like him and you around that remain grounded and understand how fragile our daily pleasures are.
When I go out for a few days an come home. I just enjoy turning on the water an opening the refrigerator. Doing that makes you appreciate it a lot

this looks so good. i have a series on my channel where i cook in the woods and i’ve cooked bbq bacon and waygu beef but i never thought of combining them! great video!

I hope Zack washed that undercarriage!! My uncle rusted out the back of his truck from putting the boat in the salty water
Meanwhile here in northern Canada they salt roads/highways for 7-8 months of the year, does a lot of damage to vehicles. Without undercoating a frame/body can be shot in under a decade.

That bacon wrapped steak has been a favorite meal in our family for a few years now. You guys should try it and make sure to rub garlic sauce all over your steak before it gets wrapped... its life changing

I think collecting edible roots and tubers would help with the long term survivability.
During the challenge hardly any bread was eaten. So, the body released water stores that it would need to process carbs and gluten. The same can probably be said for salt intake. Plus the sheer amount of work they did basically made it very difficult to consume enough calories when combined with fewer meals overall.

Brother when I return from a week long hunt where I ate all wild or packaged food . I reach for a porterhouse steak baked taters covered with butter and sour cream Brussel sprouts and a giant glass of ice cold milk ! That’s what my body craves fat and protein !

One thing people forget is if there weren’t game laws, there wouldn’t as much game to be had. This isn’t the old days, everyone would be in the woods and ocean in shtf, so you would be lucky to have what u found.
