Timelapse driving on Highway 403 eastbound from Hamilton to Mississauga, showcasing the Queen Elizabeth Way / 403 Concurrency and HOV lanes.
Some may be wondering what happens at the end of the video when I get on to the 401. Answer: traffic jam!
    Video sped up 4x.

I'm paused at 3:11... that backup must be Friday Afternoon traffic with people leaving the GTA to either get home or go on a mini-vacation. I recall early 1990s driving on I-80 leaving the New York area to get to Buffalo; traffic would get backed up the last 3 or 4 miles before crossing into Pennsylvania and the Poconos.

As a frequent near end to end driver of the ETR, I can tell you that a transponder is COMPLETELY worth it should you drive it frequently or end to end. If not, there are still...ways...around being billed.

Just want to mention that these HOV lanes are the ONLY HOV lanes in the whole world that DO NOT allow motorcycles to use them.

6:47 in... Mississauga skyline? WOW! Some 30 years ago, I only recalled a few hi-rise apartment buildings, and the Square 1 shopping mall. Goes to show how long it's been since I've ventured towards Toronto.
From that distance, I thought that maybe Toronto's downtown must've expanded quite a bit. Then again, Mississauga kinda looks like Chicago from there.

I don't know if you already do but 680 news on the AM radio frequency has really good traffic reports 4 times an hour.

Yup, annoying as hell. To clarify, motorcycles are allowed, they just need to be carrying more than 1 passenger.

One question about Canada's HOV lanes... do they allow for exits from said HOV lane to other nearby roads/highways, like the 271 in Cleveland?

Maybe because motorcycles aren't HIGH OCCUPANCY vehicles? Why should HOV lanes be used to give priority to a motorcycle carrying one person over a car carrying 2 or more?

    The highway is good.
    The drivers are BAD.
