What a time capsule, you hardly see any big trucks on the road like today and the music in the background adds another dimension to this video, thanks.

From 1990- 93 I travelled the 403 from Winston churchill to cawthra rd every day. Worked at Ontario bus industries at Dundas and Dixie.
    Awesome times back then.....

At that time of the filming, the 407 corridor between the 403 and the Freeman Interchange was going to be an extension of Highway 403 that was reserved back in the 1960's. The Trafalgar Road connector as well as the first phase of the future 407 interchange were constructed between 1985 and 1989 but wasn't fully completed until 2001. In 1995, the Bob Rae government announced that the corridor for the 403 extension in Burlington and Oakville would be built as the western extension of the 407 due to budget constrains and wasn't completed until 2001.

The 403 as of today is a complete bypass of 401. Before 1997 as officially becoming a complete bypass while merging QEW, 403 used to be a spur of QEW at first in the '60s. By the middle of the '70s, extension just began. In 1988, the extension to 401 was opened as a branch of 401 towards Hamilton.
Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong because I researched that and mostly, I use Wikipedia for that research.

@@ALuimes Just came across your video. You've taken me down memory lane. Great footage. What kind of camera did you use? I lived and worked in the Mississauga/Toronto area during the 60s and 70s. According to the numbers you've named the highways, things must have changed quite a bit since my time there. I remember what you call 407 to be 427. And what you call 403 to be the 401 in my time. I remember the 403 as a highway running north and south which started in Toronto's east end. In my time, you could connect with highway 403 heading north off the QEW. Then the 403 would take you to the 401. In the video, were you not driving on the 401 heading west to Mississauga? The 401 is the highway north of Toronto heading east and west. But the 403 runs north and south and will take you to places like New Market. Highway 400 also runs north and south which heads to Barrie. In my time, the 403 and Yonge Street ran parallel to each other. Both headed north. Have I got the numbers wrong? It's been a long time. :-)
