Thats what I liked about the Emerson Super Karambit. In the closed position the blade tang stuck out in a way that could be used for impact/ non lethal....I definitley have to check these out now guys..Great video! New lock looks functional and safer as well!
Glad you guys went to the bearing system! I've got one of the early 599's and the protruding nub that secures the blade closed is practically gone after many draws.
+The Ultimate Knife the inner stub or piece that secures the blade on the liner when closed. I've got another that hasn't been used as much and it's a night and day difference for how well it stays closed.
Oh, Okay, that's what you call a "detent." That's the small ball bearing that can (at times with years of use) can come loose and literally pop off. That can happen to any knife. If you're still within the one year warranty, then you can go to our "Contact Us" page and contact our Warranty/Repair service person to help you with this issue. He still might be able to help you. It will be a very small cost to put another one in there. Hope this helps...
I'll keep using my original Fox 599 Karambit. Great concept with the glass breaker and ball bearing. But I feel I personally have better control without the quick release of a ball bearing assist. I've cut myself many times with the original Fox 599 (as expected with familiarizing oneself with knife deployment etc.) but I can only imagine this super fast deployment may cause a little more harm than good. Love the concept but I'm not sold. My humble input.
I'm glad you said this as that is not the case. Using a Liner Lock folder it tends to open far easier than a Back Lock folder as the way it opens is a bit harder on a Back Lock than a Liner Lock. That is why we went with the IKBS (Ball Bearing) system. Now it opens just as easy as a Liner Lock and with Ron Lake's L.A.W.K.S. it's even more secure when it's open in it's locked position. This (to us) is by far the BEST knife you're going to find for the money anywhere. Hope this info helps, later… :-)
+The Ultimate Knife i agree with your opinion on the opening properties on both the liner lock and back lock...but having an IKBS system on a liner locking Dart...wouldn't that make it even faster than fast enough?
hello, where is the flipper on this new model? if there is no flipper, it's a big drawback compared to the fox 479 (my favourite at the moment). the flipper has 3 purposes: it's an extra way to open the knife, it improves the grip in acting as a guard (hand can't slip on the blade), and finally, it's a safety system in case the blade accidentally folds(folders are designed.... to fold). Thank you for the information. I hope in the future we'll see a fox karambit 479 style, with an even bigger (longer) flipper.
Want to get the partial serrated model!..have two already>>> but want it with the new JIMPING on it!.....(Just got the email from the company on the new blades)
Have you considered selling the ball bearing so we could put it on our old Fox 599's. Does the ball bearing let the knife deploy the wave feature with greater ease? I'm tired of having holes put in my pants due to the wave.
I think they both work the same, as using a back lock without a ball bearing system would make it harder to deploy. Now that we have that in the New XT models it works about the same as regular liner lock. Also, to answer your question, there is nothing that we will be able to offer that type of ball bearing system by itself as it won't fit the existing (older) models. We had to redesign the internals to make the IKBS system work. Hope this info helps. Thank you… :-)
Please find us a better knife for the price when it comes with all that it has and we'll make sure to test it and if it we like it we'll sell it. We haven't found it yet… :-)
Here's the thing redrider26, we contract a shipper to handle our orders and there's a cost to that too. That's the reason why we charge what we charge for shipping. Also, we insure all our packages; that costs extra as well and we only use USPS Priority Mail shipping so you can receive your product sooner. That's why we don't offer "free" shipping. If we did then we would in turn (like other companies), charge more for our products to offset the "free" shipping. That's the reason why we want to be as up front as possible with why we charge what we charge for shipping. Also, we can't even keep what we have in stock as we are continually processing orders. We look forward to hopefully processing your order soon as well. Thank you… :-)

What "protruding nub" are you speaking of?

+The Ultimate Knife thank you for clarifying. I'm well over a year but will proceed with instruction. Love this blade too much to get rid of it!
The Fox 590 Chiroptera so kicks this thing's ass.

Does the knife use a caged or uncaged version of the IKBS?
Will shipping take two months like when the first Fox karambit was launched?
We have them in stock, ready to ship !!! Thank you...
