When I told him no (because I’m barely an adult and he’s in his 20’s) he told me how devastating that was for him to hear and just how utterly heartbroken he was for me. Soft boys always try to hit you with the “you’re not like other girls, you actually have a personality” and it always bugs me because I think it’s so wrong to open up something with someone why comparing them to other people. It’s also putting me on a pedestal I’m uncomfortable being on and the whole “relationship” I am trying to chase after this standard they’ve set for me. It’s sooo manipulative, they know you just want attention and validation and they like trick you into thinking they’re the source of it (as you can tell I’ve unfortunately fell for it).
i know that this comment probably won’t be seen by most people but i kinda just want to say that i’m very very grateful to kurtis for making this video as when i first watched it, i was kind of a softboy. i watched it when i was 13 and i was super pretentious about both movies and music and some of my online behavior wasn’t quite as cringe as this in hindsight i was a massive asshole to people. this video kinda made me change myself for the better and i’m really thankful for kurtis for making his video

The vast majority of people with those disorders (which make up 1-2% of the population) are very normal seeming people who live pretty ordinary lives.

This is super late and deff won't be read by anyone but thank you for acknowledging sociopathy as a medical condition. I have AsPD which is the correct diagnosis (psychopathy and sociopathy are sets of traits someone with AsPD may have) and I've dealt with edgy chasers like that guy and it's disgusting. I'm sure that if the person he was messaging actually had AsPD and was categorized as a sociopath he would leave the second they showed symptoms because people like that don't want a mentally ill partner, they want brownie points for dating a mentally ill person.

I've dated a softboi (not sure if he was an e boy or a softboi or which is worse, really) and he was the single most annoying relationship I ever had. I'm not stand-offish or anything, I enjoy PDA and all, but he demanded my full attention 24/7 and if I didn't give it to him he'd have a suicidal meltdown. Like once I had my friends over (a bi girl and a gay guy, if you must know), and my ex got SO UPSET that I dared to have an extended conversation with them instead of (?) Idk how he wanted me to acknowledge his presence more, but since we were at my place he just stomped up to my room and laid down on my bed looking up at the ceiling with these red demon eyes of pure emo hatred. You would have thought I was his mom and I just turned off his Xbox. In fact, almost all my encounters with him felt like that.
When I broke up with him (kinda forcefully because he wasn't getting the point at all; I've never had to almost yell at someone that it's over, it was pretty embarrassing for both of us), he bawled so hard that he left my place for a total of 5 minutes before he came back and said he was crying too hard to drive. So I was like goddamnit, I gave him some of my Clonopin (and I had a male doctor that hated to give me any kind of anti-anxiety med even though I don't have a history of pill abuse so I only had 14 I could take over 14 days) like here ya go, try to get some sleep. 5 minutes later, he came back, crying even HARDER (how?) and I was really frustrated that I wasted a pill if it wasn't going to work and just let him cry on my couch for like an hour. It was one of the most awkward encounters I ever had, just watching this manboy sobbing and being like "you good?"
