Is it possible to offset the centre view laterally? I have a 3 monitor setup and my middle monitor isn’t exactly centred in front of me. Do you know if it’s possible to move the centre point of the middle screen left or right (as you could with P3d view groups). Thanks for the help!
No, I don't know what it's for. I have heard it is similar to EZCA, which I used for the single feature that allowed me to move the eyepoint up and down dynamically when using TrackIR.
Does that mean i can use my projector again? I had it projecting on the wall behind my 32" monitor , kind of cheap version of the guy on TH-cam, channel > on the glideslope
Using a short through projector I have the outside views on my wall witch I have purposely painted white, creating distance scale, then you have the interior of the aircraft on monitors close to you, it all causes s great illusion @@AlmostAviation
@@swankieyYou can't really do this in MSFS to date. Although you can create separate views, they are all from the same eyepoint inside the virtual cockpit. You can change the pitch/roll/yaw of each view, but that's all.
Nice video. I have a one 32" and two 22" displays all the same resolution. Turning the smaller displays to portrait looks like it might be a better solution for a multi-screen setup when the displays are not the same size. At the moment, I only have 8gb of VRAM on my 3070 and that seems to hamper my multiscreen setup at 1440p in FS 2020. I used your previous videos on multi-screens to setup my P3D and really enjoyed flying with a wider field of view. Thank you for the videos.
Thanks. I have an 8Gb GTX1070 and I am experimenting to see whether keeping my two side screems at 720p will get me decent performance. It keeps the pixel count under 6Mp. I really need an updated PC but I don't want to spend the money :|
Please help .. I have a setup where I have two same monitors in front of me (and then two on the side). I cannot get the same picture as you, yours is actually brilliant. I guess Nvidia surround is not the option, how do i set up the front monitors so they show half and half of the front view?
If I understand correctly, you can set up two independent views for your front screens, then make sure each is rotated a bit to the right or left. Using 32" screens, each might have a FoV of about 60 degrees, so you would need to rotate the left view by -30 degrees and the right view by +30 degrees. (The zoom setting is also relevant, so have a look at my next video after this one, which talks about that.)
@@AlmostAviation I wish I could send a picture .. but given your instructions I somehow made it happen .. still not perfect, but .. It looks like the screens (QHD with 3440 × 1440) and what matters probably the most is the ZOOM .. unfortunately I see I cannot really set up it "universally" so the zoom would not impact the screens .. I can send a picture somewhere if you are willing to help a bit .. I would pay with donnuts :)
@@AlmostAviation In other words. I cannot, cannot, manage the proper alignment of four monitors and zoom in the cabin. Plus, what's bothering, is that the main POV is not from the seat, but it's 30 cms above .. any suggestions please?
@@michalvydrzel Your screens are very wide, so I doubt you will get the views to line up properly. You will inevitably get distortion out at the edges, and the only way to balance this is to reduce the FoV you are displaying on the screen - in other words, to zoom in. For a more satisfactory result you need to use screens with a lower aspect ratio - 16:9 or, better, the old-fashioned 5:4 screens! In my video I have taken a different approach, which is to use a single wide display and accepting the distortion, then adding two additional side views. They don't line up very well, but it doesn't really matter. You could do that with your two forward screens, either with nvidia surround or a TH2GO (or DH2GO). (Although I'm not sure if you can run 2+2 with nvidia surround.) You should be able to move the eyepoint up and down using MSFS commands.
Love your vids, always watch and thumbs up them. Are you not interested in current, affordable, and frankly superb VR solutions and say a cheap, DOf reality fight sim chair, that moves in 2, 3 or 6 axis? I'm interested. We are not all horses or a deer, and can only see things in 2d. With your skills, you could be on the cutting edge of mixed reality flight sim solutions.
You'll definitely need a feather duster for your birthday! :)
You can see how much flight simming I've been doing recently :|
Probably like many Otters and Twin Otters out there! Love it!
He's back! Hi Mark.
Hah, never really went anywhere! It's just trying to find something interesting to say...

I don't think so. See here, where someone else was asking the same thing: www.avsim.com/forums/topic/635416-msfs-multi-monitor-support-timing
Did you ever experiment with Chase Plane? No idea if that is available for FS2020 yet as I chose not to go that route. But I use it in FSX and P3D.

@@AlmostAviation It is similar but with a friendlier interface.
Thank you for sahring this video. What is the name of the software that allows you to setup multiple screens of different sizes?
You don't need any special software.
be nice to see some gameplay footage of that setup in action 🙂

You'd have to say a bit more about how you had it set up, I'm not sure I get what you were doing before?

Sure, I'd be curious to try VR but I would need about £2K to get from here to there, and that's without looking at motion platforms.
