Thank you for the book 🙏🏻
Very many thanks for this. I love Ishiguro's writing, and it's beautifully read by Suchet.
Extraordinary story read and simultaneously acted so brilliantly and movingly by the inimitable David Suchet.
Inimitable
@@mmf1888 Effortless mastery of the art.
There are a few actors who i would enjoy listening to them read a phone book, so engaging and mesmerizing are their voices and their intonation is of the material. You David, are one of those. ☺
Genius writer. Genius voice artist. Thank you.🙏
Such and excellent story; Thank-You for uploading it!!
The Author is new to Me, but I love his style of writing; David Suchet is one of all-time favourite Readers/Actors - and this Performance is brilliant.
I highly recommend this audiobook; I’m certainly going to ‘share’-it!
Wonderful story, exceptionally sensitive performance. Why fear meeting a Charon? The ending rings true. Ishiguro would know the Buddha taught this: "All that is mine, beloved and pleasing, will change, will become otherwise, will become separated from me." And consolation? Our deeds can be, like Axel's, the firm ground on which we stand.
Yes a lousy ending but brilliantly performed by David Suchet. First time I have heard this Japanese story. Enchanting❤
for once i am okay with being told the ending in that it’s not good. now i won’t be so disappointed. thanks 🙃🌱
Wow. Good story. Well read.
It's David Suchet ! 😳🙏🏼🙂
I had wondered on the continued wandering, through a second, additional tale…any one of the worthy knowing? How about this Master craftsman, the writer.
Do you think,as I do, that the story is really about the relationship between England and France and the formation of Great Britain?
Had a horrible nightmare after this one...
Why. I'm about. To. Begin.?
much is redacted from your version of this book, but i do love your reading so much i wish we had a full length version!
Very kind but I'm obliged to say that I didn't create any of the recordings on this channel - it's 99% BBC radio. In this case the reading is by David Suchet, who is indeed a very distinguished actor and reader...
Get the audiobook!
@@NicholsonNeisler-fz3gi its not the same narrator :(
I think KI is in that top echelon of the worlds finest writers
This isn’t the whole thing right?

Too many irritating adverts for my liking. I like the author but I can’t put up with the ads.
Sad to hear - in fact this channel isn't monetized, so I suspect YT are putting those adverts on because the original recording includes music that is licenced to youtube. Sadly I can't do anything about stuff like that without cutting out big bits of the recording.

Oops, thanks. Inimitable, of course! Combo of poor eyesight, late night, small phone screen, and rotten predictive text!😬😄
This was not following the exact lines in the book
It's a radio broadcast, therefore abridged. There are unabridged readings available which you can pay for.
@ Okay thank you. Is it a similar story to the book though or does it add other details?
Ah, good question. It's just abridged, not adapted - so the text has been streamlined but not changed, nothing has been added. I'm afraid that most of the readings I upload will be abridged because they are taken from radio broadcasts, and they're not meant to replace reading the book so much as encourage the listener to read it in full, or to remind them of the experience of reading it. A good abridgement still works as entertainment, of course.
Completely ruined the story thanks to TH-cam putting in advertisement every 5 minutes. You really know how to ruin something you tube
Lousy ending
