I finished the campaign rushing and all I have to say. I really enjoyed the game. It’s wayyyyy better than gears 4 campaign.
By a landslide. They took all the best points of Gears 4 and significantly improved and expanded upon it.
@@bladelazoe yeah man i was so bored with gears 4 campaign. I still put in like 150 hours for multiplayer but the story was extremely boring in the very beginning

the new weapons are fun as hecky
the new enemy types are very interesting and the a.i is very smart and pressures you always so you have to prioritize threatening enemies and use jack or command allies to help with targets
best entry in the series since 3 for me 😊

The Gears of War games never disappoint when it comes to the campaign. Even the worst one Judgement had a somewhat decent campaign.

N7 Spartan I cant say I agree with that, Judgements multiplayer was garbage, Gears 4’s multiplayer was faithful to the series.

It was actually a great game, not just the controls and the gameplay but even the graphics were sick. I would even go as far to say the best looking shooting game out there.

@@pedrocanas470 I've heard the opposite from Rod Fergusson, they're to busy with Gears, Gears Tactics and Gears pop, plus other stuff around Gears (books, comics, movie, etc).
Their first project was nt Gears though, and it was scrapped.
There were rumors of them making a Perfect Dark reboot. Possibly for next gen
They are working on a new IP , rumours say that it is an open world Captain America game but that seems unlikely
I think the visuals are amazing. The scale in some of the scenes was incredible. And to hold 60fps throughout and hit native 4k. Wow. Can't wait to play it on my X.

@@alexf0723 Ahh, right, forgot the tower blowing up. They usually showed him dying in the other games so I forgot that part, last game we never even saw him, he was just spoken of by the other characters. Maybe this time we'll see him and his inevitable demise.

Gears get 8.8 with amazing story and awesome multiplayer with amazing gamemode and new guns and alot of new stuff.
Plus this great campaign with amazing visual and emotional moments.

Played Gears 1,2,3 and Judgement Day on 360 and now years later after having Ps4 have started playing 4 on partners xbox game . A great franchise which has drawn me away from ps4 for now . Going to play 5 after finishing Gears 4 . Worth getting an xbox for the Gears franchise alone

Why does the gameplay audio sound like its been filtered through a tin can? Was it recorded poorly or is there some new rule about quality of what can be released before a game is officially out?
I was pleasantly surprised with Gears 4, as it's a new developer and all. The story was great, a twist around every corner.
And I definitely agree, these games have heart.

Picking between JD and Del was so hard in the end. Del was your biggest supporter this game, while JD turned away from you. In the moment through Kait's perspective alone my choice was easily Del. But after picking Del I was heartbroken to see what it did to Marcus. Lost his father, wife, best friend, and now son.
Gears 5 doesn't feel like gears anymore. The horror is gone and its way too cartoony.
I LOVE that we can get head shots with the Lancer now. So appreciated 😍
After number 4 I had to have a really long break from the Gears games, playing number 5 now and wow it is amazing so far.

Gears 5 was definitely better, but I honestly feel like the review for 4 is just too high. 8.8 feels fair to me for 5, given the 7 hour campaign, runtime padded by me getting mad air on the Skiff.
Been playing it and man this game looks amazing.

For once I’d wish a Carmine was a main character. They’ve pretty much become a staple in the Gears series so it’d be nice to actually play as one outside of just the multiplayer.

I don’t get it with people saying it’s a strong campaign. Granted, the gameplay is better than the early Gears 4 missions against the machines, which is very dull. But JD and Fahz’s character arcs are poor, Del has no character development what so ever, and Kait’s is a rehash of Gears 2 whilst drawing out a ‘reveal’ which was already made apparent at the end of Gears 4.
Also, the open-world maps are pointless as they distract from the core gameplay loop given that there is no combat whilst in vehicles.
