still laugh about when Rin was talking about one of the songs on Violence Unimagined at the "everything must go part" and Rin was like "Do you want to buy a Toyota Corolla" he's a funny dude or when he was like they should have had a DJ "I cum blood cum cum blood" ha ha ha"
One listen in and I do like it, but it might take a little more time to grow on me. You guys were talking about the domination of the guitars, and I thought the thing it was drowning out was not the drums or bass, but the vocals. Not a good thing if you're straining to hear a powerhouse vocalist like Corpsegrinder. I also felt like I wanted to hear more rhythmic hooks and catchy parts like "Blood Blind" has. But "Drain You Empty" is a hell of a track - if Corpse decides to do more in that style then freaking sign me up!
Can't remember a CC song that starts with bass? There are at least two on their previous albums. "Coffin Feeder" from the Bloodthirst album and "Scavenger Consuming Death" from Red Before Black. BOOOM!
You could add "Destroyed Without A Trace", also from Red Before Black. And by the way, other songs that fade out (11:05) are: Beyond The Cemetery Force Fed Broken Glass Disfigured From Skin To Liquid Crushing The Despised Condemned To Agony Nothing Left To Mutilate They Deserve To Die Infinite Misery A Cauldron Of Hate Carnivorous Swarm The Murderer's Pact
Cannibal Corpse just does not miss. They can't, it's virtually impossible. I knew this was gonna absolutely slap, I knew that the moment I heard Blood Blind and saw the album announcement. It's shot straight into my top ten albums of this year after the first listen, and I always knew it would. They're amazing, this is amazing, I'm probably not gonna listen to anything else for the next fortnight, I fucking love it. I can't wait to see these songs played live, I hope they come back to the UK soon. Great to see Rin back aswell btw guys, great review as always 🤘🤘

We definitely are here for violence and riffs. As expected, CC delivers. I don’t think this album is varied as a Violence Unimagined, but overall this crushes. Definitely ****+ stars. Great to have Rin in on this review.

Necrotic Nick- It's great having him back. Yeah, CC just doesn't miss. Hell, after 16 albums I don't think they know how to write a shitty album at this point. With Solstice I'd like to cover all their albums honestly. I'm not sure what their status is or if their working on something new but generally when we do retro reviews we cover bands with shorter discographies or ones that went defunct after a short run. It's definitely one I'd like to cover at some point.
To me, Frenzied Feeding and Drain you Empty are some of the most crushing things Erik Rutan has ever written, and it makes me so much more glad that he's now in my most favorite death metal band ever, Cannibal fuckin' Corpse. Also, welcome back Rin!
Necrotic Nick- Rutan was the logical fit for them and he's adding some different but subtle wrinkles to their sound overall. His songs definitely stand out a bit but they still have that gnarly CC sound that we all love.
Another bad ass Cannibal Corpse album. Astonishing. This album is more straight forward and faster overall than Violence Unimagined. Probably went this direction to change things up slightly since this was written very close to the last album's recording. I love everything this band does, so this works great for me. When are you guys doing another discography ranking? Those are always great.
Necrotic Nick- They are the definition of consistency. So far I think I dig this one a bit more than Violence Unimagined because it is a bit more straight forward. The riff work feels tighter and the harmonies really stand out more too. The next discography ranking is Judas Priest so it might be awhile before we get to since that's a ton of listening for us. We're hoping to have it up by the end of October.

Great review guys! Yeah man, some strong death/thrash moments on a few tracks, maybe more in the Webster penned tracks. The opening riff had me thinking Eaten Back to Life for a moment. Really cool Locke artwork in the booklet to go with each track title. CC never disappoint.
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! Yeah, I was definitely picking up on some of the thrashy stuff on here. It seems like the writing was pretty divided between Webster, Barret and Rutan this time but I think Web wrote more songs if I remember right. Yeah, I love the art on this one. It feels closer to the older albums and less like comic book art (though Locke does do comics so I understand why it's looked that way) with the more oil painting look to it. Great stuff once again.

Cannibal will forever be the GOATs of death metal. Catching the Mayhem tour (driving to Denver from Missouri) for my 8th or 9th time seeing Cannibal. I was a Rutan fan from way back, and he is PERFECT! They're even tighter if that's possible.
Love the album, I bought the deluxe box edition. They are kicking off this tour in Nashville and then coming to my hometown Knoxville Sunday. It’ll be my second time in less than a year seeing the Corpse machine! 🤘☠️🔪🩸🪦
Yet another great week for metal, Cannibal Corpse slaying it as always. Is anyone (Thralls or otherwise) planning to listen to Mercenary's "Soundtrack for the End Times"? It's the Danes' first album in about ten years and it's probably their strongest release since the 2000s.
Great shit, loving the Rutan era of cannibal corpse, being an absolute Hate Eternal and Cannibal Corpse fanatic it is like my two fave bands were merged in one.
I may be late to the party but welcome back RIN 🤘 As far as the album, Violence Unimagined got me back on the Corpse bandwagon, so for the first time since... I dunno, Vile?... I was excited to hear how they were going to follow up. Chaos Horrific delivered. Like Jon I only have one nit pick. Unlike Jon, mine isn't even about the music. Why does the album have Chaos in the name? There's nothing chaotic going on, these songs are well thought out and crafted... Im not gonna say perfectly but holy shit they're crafted pretty close to perfectly. Maybe I'm weird, but with Rutan in the band I'm also kind of hoping they'll do an album that's doomier overall. Think like "Gateways" but Corpse.

Blood Blind is savage in that Bloodbath style and the fucking lyrics: "Left lifeless In the aftermath of a bargained fate Torn to shreds In the genocide that was embraced Mass mutilations to reset the human race Predetermined to ensure a future" That shit had to come out of the motherfucking pandemic! Nick, Jon and Rin, you guys fucking rule! Keep flying the metal flag guys \m/ \m/
I saw the band in Worcester, Ma. last September. They are fucking amazing live and the album kicks ass. Watching Eric on guitar, he is the fucking Eddie Van Halen of death metal. And Paul is the death metal version of Neil Peart.

I really like this album. It has a doomier and sludgier groovy feel throughout the whole album. Still has classic Cannibal beatdown, but much more straightforward and old school riffing, which I missed for many years with this band. Brutal 🤘
Again a killer record from the bulldozer death machine, Erik's touch is again present but maybe even more mix with CC approach, a great successor to the previous one, love the atmosphere and almost doomy approach at the end, the riffs and bass slaps, corpsegrinder and Paul rips as always and that artwork damn it 🤘🔥
