I worked on the cube, in 2022. I'm a 3D artist and the (terrible) company I was working for was sub-contracted through another sub-contracted London architectural firm to design 3D visualisations for art installations, commercial space, and AR things to have in this monstrosity. The AR stuff required every resident and visitor to have an app they could use to play games with other users, get directions and be tracked around the space to tailor ads and suggested points of interest to the individual. Client side anyway - all that information is gold to marketers, not to mention the amount of data you'd have to give up to security just to exist in the cube. The first questions I had were "if people are going to live in a cube of screens, how will they get enough vitamin D? What happens if someone's shower leaks into the maintenance corridors for the screens? What happens if the food court has a fire? You want so many plants in this thing, how are you sourcing the water and how will the water and condensation be dealt with?" All of these, and more, concerns were brushed aside as we were part of early development for the looks of the place. From what I saw, there is no safe way for this building to exist, and that the responsibility of genuinely planning for any of these circumstances will be pushed further and further down the development process, until the poor sod made responsible for making evacuation plans for example just gives up and marks it safe under duress. This is a development created by people who love dystopian fiction and thought "hell yeah" with no extra thoughts

When I joined, Dan O'Dowd was a massive Tesla fanboy and owned multiple cars from them. Then when GHS tried to make a deal with Tesla, it went so bad that Elon fired the person who even suggested working with GHS, and Dan has hated on Elon ever since. Unfortunately Dan is right on this one, and it's a real case of "Worst person you know made a great point."
Re italian renaissance politics, i need more people to know that Alejandro Jodorowsky (yes, the guy that didn't make Dune) wrote a comic (drawn by Theo) about Pope Julius II, Guilano della Rovere, and it's delicious italian renaissance bullshit and wonderfully illustrated and soooo gay.

Ive written scripts for many TH-camrs and this is a phenomenon you get as they get more popular, they think that the best bits are the bits THEY had the most fun making. These guys even called it "Certified Gerard Butler in Gamer" - to them it was the BEST bit cos THEY had a blast, but its a sign of doom, it means you are placing your enjoyment through arrogance over the service you are providing to the listener. No one listened to this critically and thought "will this be interesting to the average listener"
You had 2/3 of the Well, There's Your Problem podcast on, & you wonder why you "went off the rails" for 90% of your allotted time -- really? Really? You must not have listened to WTYP podcast ever. Lol
