"I do hope my trust in your people is not misplaced" "Don't worry it's fine we're here to help" *Baros Alexson enters through portal* "Let's take this world for the alliance!"
I facepalmed when Baros Alexston comes through the portal hollering, "Let's take this world for the Alliance!" after Prophet Velen says he hopes his trust won't be betrayed. What a dope. -_-
nobbel, dude, i was a warcraft fan since i played warcraft 2 in 2001-2002 (that's when i had my first chance do do so), and i don't have the time and money to commit to WoW, so i thank you for your videos of lore by zones and the other character specific and event specific lore, keep it up, the videos are awesome, straight to the point, and no unnecessary shots of running back and forth between quests, as long as you make these videos i will be your eternal subscriber
I like how it just seems like another tuesday for Velen purifying the dark star. Just like "All right, you rule the draenei now, i'll just sacrifice myself now. Buh-bye!"
Man, thank you so much for making these videos. I am unable to play WoW retail ($$) and all these stories (well, story), cinematics and interactions are making me really hungry to put it so. Waiting for next week yoo, hoowee!
I have to comment this: This is the first time I actually refreshed "my subsription page" and when I saw this pop up I said "YES!" to myself...... I surprise myself how I reacted. I like the Lore videos so much!
I was looking forward to this one, since I didn't get to see it for myself as a Hordie I hope he also goes over the Dungeons and stuff, they are pretty important, maybe eventually the raids, Nobbel is great at explaining all the lore perfectly
I love the shadowmoon valley cinematic, there are a lot of jewels with this new expansion but for me, this and the Talador cinematic are THE best. When I first saw this it brought tears to my eyes and when I showed those 2 to my family (and they have no interest in WoW and most videogames) they had a very, very similiar emotional reaction. Very well done Blizz.
the dark star cinematic was like... the most epic and wonderfull thing about wod. seriously i was so happy when i saw that the first time xD so awesome.
This was great! I hope you are able to do one per zone. The way the stories and quest lines are organized make it a lot more coherent to do this, from what I can tell, mostly I like how you tell it, so yeah.
Durpanny idk it's all random draenei but horde has durotan, draka, drek, thrall is around more bc our counterpart SPOILERS died (maraad). Draenei have velen who u don't see much, maraad whose death was awesome in a "good way to go" protecting yrel whose character buildup was rushed. I guess the naaru blessing she gets from velen can explain it but she goes from her first kill to super paladin super fast. The horde one I didn't take my time like I did on my ally tho so I'm not even that sure, so I shouldn't be judging. All I know is I remembwr frostfire ridge over anything bc that one was cool. The ganar/durotan rivalry was resolved way too fast. Ganar, "I'm mad bro," durotan, "u mad bro? Kill me," ganar, "ok sry I luv u bro. " lol
Once I connected the dots that Crispin Freeman, the voice of Alucard from "Hellsing," (and many other awesome voices) is the voice of Maraad, it's all I hear now. >_
One of my favorite theories is that the Dark Star is the reason the old Horde had necromancers in the First War. We know three things: 1: The Horde had necromancers. The units in WC1 were called Necrolytes, and they summoned skeletons. 2: The Necrolytes used the Void, which is the same power the Shadowmoon clan uses in WoD. We know they used the Void because the magazine said so, it said that humans researching the Necrolytes' Void powers led to the Forsaken Cult of Forgotten Shadow. 3: The WC1 manual said the Necrolytes followed orcish religions, which never made sense until WoD because until WoD no orc clan did anything with darkness and undead. Given all of that I think it's a safe conclusion to say that the Dark Star in the main timeline/reality is why the Old Horde had necromancers.
I know I'm 5 year's late but another thing that contributes to this theory is the Ashbringer. It was forged from a dark crystal taken from an orc warlock that was purified by the light abd many people think that it was a piece of a corrupted Naaru
I dont know if you have a video explaining the worgen curse However this is what ive picked from it: A druid clan called the druids of the wolf( or something) that worships a great wolfic spirt this spirt grants them a power but also a curse : it turns them into worgen these are the first worgen. Now the other druids dont like this so they put the worgen to sleep under a great tree, But they Woke Up. they Run upon all of the lands infecting other humans and druids with this plauge! This is a VERY quick run of the Worgen story but it gets deeper and i dont have enough pizza.
Thank you very much for the video! I play only horde, so I did not have a chance to see what happened here...and so much happened. I have wondered what is Velen doing, I have thought that he is at Karabor...I was completely shocked.
Great video, please continue to make these for each zone. I want to enrich myself in the lore but at the same time it's difficult when I just want to get to 100 as fast as I can, it's hard to slow down and enjoy the view. Also why is Prophet Velen the only draenei with pupils...it creeps me out.
and either way the AU azeroth is going to be taken over/destroyed by c'thun anyways. we only stopped him because we had the united force of the alliance races (who only united because of the horde) and the united horde (who only existed because of the portal
Maybe the mark is the violet crystal "Spirit's Song". In the book "Rise of the Horde" was mentioned that the crystal can change form, and Velen used it to stay in contact with the Naaru K'ure, and he hold it always near his body.
I played through the Shadowmoon Valley and I got most of the story line. But there were times I missed important bits of the story Nobbel you took the time you tell the real story where it all make sense thank you and you have very good story tell skills you hold me on every single word thumbs
Warlords of Draenoe may not have been the best expansion we got, but as a huge draenei lore fan returning back to Draenor was a huge gift for me. Draenei got a chance to save what has been destroyed by the horde.
i believe that yrels story was never told properly due to blizz being lazy and wanting to rush the legion release. Maybe we could have found out what the mark was and told the rest of the story if they had not cut out a patch (which i think is what they did)
To be honest, the Shadowmoon (and also the Frostwoolf) story was far better planned out then rest of the zones up until Nagrad, even though I don't really enjoy the end game of the current expansion I found Shadowmoon story very awesome
RileyRivalle2 True, sort off, but right now I got like nothing to do on WoW, zones have amazing story but end game has non that would keep me entertained long enough for me to still be subscribed
i stumbled on this channel pure on accident just becaus i was curious and a little confused about the shadowmoon vallley but damn i even found lore of the beginning of world of warcraft itself this is awesome thx nobel87
+1stPCFerret Sha of Pandaria are actually caused by the death of y'shaarj, the strongest old god among all four. The old gods are the enemies of the naaru, but seeing a naaru being twisted isn't new in warcraft history. Remember M'uru in the sunwell?

But they did not see the seriousness of the vision and called the vision -only a hunch- They had already decided to follow Sargaras. Well if you are an Ally I guess so. You are used to fancy castles and stuff like that, while I spent most of my time leveling in zones filled with camps and towns filled with tents. Also Orgrimmar is pretty much just a canyon with buildings in it, while Stormwind is a fortress (quite a weak one, but fortress nonetheless).
GELSPRG But don't worry, because while the horde may not have fancy buildings you still have a special place in blizzards heart, and no one can ever take away that favoritism!
GELSPRG stormwind is not a fortress, it's just a city, but with some walls and stuff. and although the alliance garrison looks better, the horde one looks bigger. much bigger. like horde lvl 1 = alliance lvl 3.
I really wish they had gone with their previous idea of having racial garrisons. I mean, I play a draenei, on draenor... and I cant have a draenei looking building? pout
Hello I am Gamemaster kiffe22, I noticed that you spoiled crucial information about future story development in the World of Warcraft on TH-cam. In the comment section of Nobbel87's video: "The Story of Shadowmoon Valley - Warlords of Draenor [Lore]" you shared the information that gnomes become goblins if they drink demon blood. Although we do not know how you attained this info i have to inform you that we do not tolerate this and will therefore henceforth ban your account from the game permanantly. Please accept this and we will refrain from taking further actions legally.
I think Blizzard will open portal to alternative azeroth.(at the end of wod, we will Return to azeroth. Khadgar create portal to azeroth but They will stack at alternative universe) Legion captured alternative azeroth. Thrall and khadgar must speak to nozdormu for destroy caverns of time and go back to our azeroth. New features: - old Lands of azeroth. Dalaran, lorderaeon, silvermoon, captured Lands (looks like outland) and more. 4. Spec maybe. I think blizzard will make expansion like that. (sory for my english :))
squidbilly9 no, this sounds pretty damn off in my opinion since destroying the cavern of time won't change time itself, only our connection to it. If we really wanted to stop the other timelines we should talk to the titans who created them, not destroy our gateway to them. The best thing in my opinion is to contact the titans through their guardians on Azeroth and with the help of the former dragon aspects.
Do you think you will be putting out a video of the alternate azeroth of WOD, since we come to stop the chances, what do you think about the current path of that Azeroth will be, since no lich, and etc. Would love to hear your thoughts.
The rune/mark on the Draenei's forehead is called the "Mark of the Naaru", it's there to signify that the Draenei are "light-touched". Not sure how or why Velen transfers his rune to Yrel but that's what it means anyhow.
Is the prophet from our time or alternate Draenors timeline? I havent finished the video yet, but im not a big alliance player so i didnt see who went into the Dark Portal or anything like that, so im not entirely sure.
First of all, excellent video Nobbel but i have a few points to make, correct me if im wrong on any of these please, 1. the name of the ship the Draenei arrive on Draenor isnt called oshu'gun but Genedar, oshu'gun is what orcs call that half ship wrecked mountain. 2. i dont think they ejected the naaru just becasue of crash panic, but it was the naaru K'ara powered the ship to fly and velen says the naarus life was coming to an end so THAT CAUSED them to crash instead of landing properly (and people think we draenei crash our ships all the time... it was blood elves sabotage back in azuremyst isles and now this) 3. you tell the events that proves Yrel isnt the new leader of the Draenei but you didnt want to spoil it when talking about the mark. what is that event exactly? i saw all the story in draenor so please tell me. And finally i was pissed off we werent getting karabor as a main city but i was hoping they would at least make it like a town to hang. the gardens look beautiful, but blizz didnt even BOTHERED to make the temple inside. theres not even a door! no town life, no vendors, no sellers or innkeeper NOTHING... ps: i see you used the cinematic here, so the copyright incidents are OK now? we wouldnt want anything happen to your account now would we ?
Nobbel87 PERFECT..i cant wait to see those videos. By the way keep up the excellent work you have done. It was because of you that i fell in love with the WoW lore and actually start playing the game (that was in september of this year). And now im very happy because im playing one of the best expansions for the game, since the very beginning of it.
Hey Nobbel! First I wanted to say, epic videos! And secondly that I was sitting arround searching the youtube for a full solid Arthas story and ofcourse wanted a telling from you, But I noticed that I couldn't find anything about arthas really from you. So my question is, have you ever made a full story about him or are you planning to?:)
today, i found a small curiosity not a big deal, there is a draenei child named Isel in Nagrand(WoD) you save her and her mother from the Iron Horde in Teelar, the mother becomes the inn keeper in Teelari Outpost and isel is often running around the camp, then in Nagrand(BC) you can find Isel in teelar where she is now the inn keeper,,that made me wonder how many minor Npc´s from outland can be found in their younger days in Draenor?
Love your work :) My personal opinion is that the Story of the Aliance, this time, is way cooler than the Hordes. I read "Rise of the Horde" and i hated the orcs so much for what they did to the peaceful draenei! But it's not that i simply hate without reason. Durotan was an honest orc and his wife Draka too. Even Orgrim was not that much of a bad guy. But i wanted to pay the orcs back what they did to the poor citizen in Karabor, Shattrath and all the other Cities. I think it is a great addon for People, who want to live the Story of Warcraft and Change some of the dark Moment into something good
Velen : I hope I can trust you, guy...
First human through the portal : ALL RIGHT GUY'S LET'S CLAIM THIS WORLD!
I picked up on that too. It was beautiful.
That line was great.
I think I love it more when he is asking that about my Warlock with her Demon beside her.
Yooo I was like oh god at that too. Such a facepalm moment.
The first time I heard that, I face palmed in real life.
"I do hope my trust in your people is not misplaced"
"Don't worry it's fine we're here to help"
*Baros Alexson enters through portal*
"Let's take this world for the alliance!"
haha yea
Yeah lol
lmao
Makes no different than the horde that invaded Azeroth since they're taking the world and not in peace
*/Seinfeld Theme Plays*
I facepalmed when Baros Alexston comes through the portal hollering, "Let's take this world for the Alliance!" after Prophet Velen says he hopes his trust won't be betrayed. What a dope. -_-
gotta say...Velen's death was one of the best cinematics in WoD...man the goosebumps! xD
Yrel's growth and rising through the SMV storyline make her my favorite character in the whole of WoD.
The cinematic of the sacrifice of Yelen and the marking of Yrel is my favorite one!
Good story. Keep up the good work! Your efforts are appreciated!
"Shadowmoon burial grounds was merely a set back" - Ner'zhul next patch
nobbel, dude, i was a warcraft fan since i played warcraft 2 in 2001-2002 (that's when i had my first chance do do so), and i don't have the time and money to commit to WoW, so i thank you for your videos of lore by zones and the other character specific and event specific lore, keep it up, the videos are awesome, straight to the point, and no unnecessary shots of running back and forth between quests, as long as you make these videos i will be your eternal subscriber
I like how it just seems like another tuesday for Velen purifying the dark star. Just like "All right, you rule the draenei now, i'll just sacrifice myself now. Buh-bye!"
I believe that she is now "The Prophet Yrel", whether she realises it or not. I hope she returns for Legion.
Man, thank you so much for making these videos. I am unable to play WoW retail ($$) and all these stories (well, story), cinematics and interactions are making me really hungry to put it so. Waiting for next week yoo, hoowee!
Thanks for making this video. This was an awesome entrance to Draenor.
I have to comment this: This is the first time I actually refreshed "my subsription page" and when I saw this pop up I said "YES!" to myself...... I surprise myself how I reacted. I like the Lore videos so much!
I was looking forward to this one, since I didn't get to see it for myself as a Hordie
I hope he also goes over the Dungeons and stuff, they are pretty important, maybe eventually the raids, Nobbel is great at explaining all the lore perfectly
The way Exarch Akama says, "Ahh, the little one is the taskmaster..." I wonder if the gnome was insulted by that...
Thanks for the video. Keeps me attached to WoW. Keep up the good work
the dark star cinematic was like... the most epic and wonderfull thing about wod. seriously i was so happy when i saw that the first time xD so awesome.
5:54 The part with Akama made me cry a little.
This was great! I hope you are able to do one per zone. The way the stories and quest lines are organized make it a lot more coherent to do this, from what I can tell, mostly I like how you tell it, so yeah.
This was the best zone! Valen video was amazing
Keep up the awesome work :D
Did play through Shadowmood myself for the first time last night And I still got the shivers ^^
Love your lore videos Nobbel87, keep it up!
akama was such a fucking cool character, in warcraft 3 he was only part of a side quest but then they turned him into a really good character in BC
another fantastic video! keep up the good work nobbel!
Are you planning on doing an overview for every zone? That'd be cool, all zones are pretty great.
that will be nice !
Would be amazing, I don't have an alliance toon and their story is just amazing!
" lol
Yep!
Nobbel87
awesome :D
keep doing the light`s work.
lok`tar ogar
This was a great video nobbel, i dont have an alliance character myself but watching this makes me want to play one.
Love your lore viedos man. Keep them coming! o/
Velen = most badass Racial Boss confirmed.
I really enjoy your lore videos!
Just a correction: the ship's name was Genedar, not Oshu'gun. That's Orcish for 'mountain of spirits'.
I'll play through Draenor just for Yrel. One of the best female characters in WoW.
Nobbel your videos are the highest of quality :)
I like how the sky turns green when you fight Socrethar, giving you a glipse of the Outland's Shadowmoon Valley.
Khadgar is a double agent! Splits himself into 2 beings! Horde goes left and alliance goes right, He goes both ways!
Bifactional
I haven't gotten WOD yet but I can't wait to get to that part. Seems exciting
I love listening to your lore! I love how you roll your Rs - I can't do that! Sounds so amazing!
Once I connected the dots that Crispin Freeman, the voice of Alucard from "Hellsing," (and many other awesome voices) is the voice of Maraad, it's all I hear now. >_
He plays many WoW characters, the first time I heard one I instantly knew it was him. :p
F**! :D Why have you done this to me! :D
Finally alliance got some good story since after wrath, I love the Valen part, knowing his history, i know what he would do, and he did. almost teary
I am loving these lores!
One of my favorite theories is that the Dark Star is the reason the old Horde had necromancers in the First War. We know three things:

This is a VERY quick run of the Worgen story but it gets deeper and i dont have enough pizza.
Nobbel you're videos are premium quality :)
Man I cry when Velen sacrifices himself :*(
RileyRivalle2 timey wimey wibbly wobbly
Morgan Freeman Well, the normal timeline, he should still be alive and kicking if that helps.
Samaara's death almost brought a tear in my eye the first time I did the quest. Must be because of the awesome voice acting.
Wait if nerzhul dies that means theres no lich kung? And Arthas is normal? And the kingdom of lordaeron still exists? Which means Arthas is now king?
which means the future of this alternate universe past is completely different yes
Yes,it would be.As u see all we change in draenor doesn't change in real time Azeroth and Outland.
But we're not connected to Azeroth, probably we won't be. Especially since they connected to our Azeroth.
None of these events change our Azeroth
and either way the AU azeroth is going to be taken over/destroyed by c'thun anyways. we only stopped him because we had the united force of the alliance races (who only united because of the horde) and the united horde (who only existed because of the portal
Maybe the mark is the violet crystal "Spirit's Song". In the book "Rise of the Horde" was mentioned that the crystal can change form, and Velen used it to stay in contact with the Naaru K'ure, and he hold it always near his body.
Great vid as always =)
Love your vids Nobbel!!
I played through the Shadowmoon Valley and I got most of the story line.
But there were times I missed important bits of the story
Nobbel you took the time you tell the real story where it all make sense
thank you and you have very good story tell skills
you hold me on every single word
thumbs
"Lose this duel and i'll banish u to the shadow realm!"
It's really nice seeing Warcraft grow.
One of the first games iv ever played was the rts Warcraft (reign of chaos and frozen throne).
The dark star reminds me of the dark templar. Seriously though, at around 23:33 when the thing says, "The void HUNGERS."
Warlords of Draenoe may not have been the best expansion we got, but as a huge draenei lore fan returning back to Draenor was a huge gift for me. Draenei got a chance to save what has been destroyed by the horde.
Same here. The humans and the Draenei are in my opinion the best races.
our main original prime timeline universe velen is still alive.
i believe that yrels story was never told properly due to blizz being lazy and wanting to rush the legion release. Maybe we could have found out what the mark was and told the rest of the story if they had not cut out a patch (which i think is what they did)
Let's just hope that the expansion after Legion is set on Draenor. I want to know more about Yrel and Draenor itself.
great work it's so hard to find a good alliance walk though
my favorite part of Wod, nice video!
This makes Draenei my favourite character. Cool history
IMO - One of the best zones created by Blizzard and I play Horde!!! I love Shadowmoon Valley, I love Yrel and love the Draenei! :D
Thanks for sharing! I love WoW lore but I can't bring myself to level an alliance and see their side of things.
i stumbled on this channel pure on accident just becaus i was curious and a little confused about the shadowmoon vallley but damn i even found lore of the beginning of world of warcraft itself this is awesome thx nobel87
Great video nobbel :D
I wonder... The "dark Naaru" ae beings of shadow - aren't the Sha of Pandaria quite similar? could there be a connection?
Sha came from an Old God and dark naaru come from a corrupted naaru. There is no link between them at all
+1stPCFerret Sha of Pandaria are actually caused by the death of y'shaarj, the strongest old god among all four. The old gods are the enemies of the naaru, but seeing a naaru being twisted isn't new in warcraft history. Remember M'uru in the sunwell?
Draenei means "exiled ones" in the Eredar language.
Does anyone knows what is the name of the song in the minute 24:30, when Samaara dies?, please , i'm tired to look for this song.
great work ! thanks for this. im horde and dont have the time to play the other side right now. really nicely done
i would say, that velen gives yrel his visions, his thoughts, his memories. i think he is giving her his wisdom.
To clarify atleast a little bit of the story.
Velen wasnt warned by the Naruu.
He simply distrusted Sargaras and his promises of power.
So he akes for a vision of the future at their sacred place, keeping this sacred crystal they called -the Ata'mal crystal-
It had been given to the Eredar, even tho nobody clearly remembered who had given it to them.
And what he saw was everything that they believed in detroyed, and their people turned into man'ari (the Eredar word for something horrificly wrong and twisted).
Velen shared his vision with his friends Kil'jeaden and Archimonde, made them see what he had seen and made them feel what he had felt.
But they did not see the seriousness of the vision and called the vision -only a hunch-
They had already decided to follow Sargaras.
Velen grieved, he wanted to save all his people, as he had sworn to do.
He felt he had to flee, but flee where?
Velen went back to the Ata'mal crystal, staring at it as despair flooded through him.
Sargaras was coming, and there was no place on Argus to hide from such a being.
On that very moment it was that the Naruu K'ure contacted Velen through the Ata'mal crystal, offering a way out of Argus.
He told Velen he would save the people whose hearts rejected the horror of what Sargaras had offered.
Gather those who will listen to your wisdom.
Go to the highest mountain in the land on the longest day of the year.
Take the Ata'mal crystal with you.
The Naruu claimed that they had given the crystal to the Eredar a long long time ago, and that it was through the crystal that he had found Velen and had sensed the evil that Argus was facing.
Velen did as he was told, and it was just on time as the Naruu K'ure came to resceu the last pure hearted Eredar, including Velen.
The rest is fully accurate.
I always thought the marking had something to do with the naru
Meanwhile, our Velen back in Azeroth hasn't done shit :P
that was awesome!
thanx nobbel :D
Continue za gr8 work bruva
"May have granted you this land...." Those subtitles though...
Nice as always.
Alliance garison looks so much better then horde one ;P

Hello I am Gamemaster kiffe22,
I noticed that you spoiled crucial information about future story development in the World of Warcraft on TH-cam.
*noobish question* what are these wings at 22:10?

I think Blizzard will open portal to alternative azeroth.(at the end of wod, we will Return to azeroth. Khadgar create portal to azeroth but They will stack at alternative universe) Legion captured alternative azeroth. Thrall and khadgar must speak to nozdormu for destroy caverns of time and go back to our azeroth.
New features:
- old Lands of azeroth.
Dalaran, lorderaeon, silvermoon, captured Lands (looks like outland) and more. 4. Spec maybe. I think blizzard will make expansion like that. (sory for my english :))
this is pretty much spot on, this guy must be working at blizzard and just leaked the next 4 years of wow
squidbilly9 no, this sounds pretty damn off in my opinion since destroying the cavern of time won't change time itself, only our connection to it. If we really wanted to stop the other timelines we should talk to the titans who created them, not destroy our gateway to them. The best thing in my opinion is to contact the titans through their guardians on Azeroth and with the help of the former dragon aspects.
SergantSwiftblade Titans are last part of warcraft. I think Blizzard will never show titans to players. They are myths of warcraft universe.
Sercan Ozyurt yet we battle sargeras forces a whole lot.
LOL at the noobs thinking it would happen
When is the next storyline going to be?? Please!! You do amazing videos and I want to hear more of the story!!!
First of all, excellent video Nobbel but i have a few points to make, correct me if im wrong on any of these please,
1. the name of the ship the Draenei arrive on Draenor isnt called oshu'gun but Genedar, oshu'gun is what orcs call that half ship wrecked mountain.
2. i dont think they ejected the naaru just becasue of crash panic, but it was the naaru K'ara powered the ship to fly and velen says the naarus life was coming to an end so THAT CAUSED them to crash instead of landing properly (and people think we draenei crash our ships all the time... it was blood elves sabotage back in azuremyst isles and now this)
3. you tell the events that proves Yrel isnt the new leader of the Draenei but you didnt want to spoil it when talking about the mark. what is that event exactly? i saw all the story in draenor so please tell me.
SOOOO MANY GOOSEBUMPS !!!
How are you covering the rest of the zones? One video for each faction or a video with both perspectives?
I'm thinking a video of both perspectives since the next zones are almost mirrored with a few minor differences.
Nobbel87 Looking forward to it.
Love your work :)
My personal opinion is that the Story of the Aliance, this time, is way cooler than the Hordes.
