- just some advise ,no way am i a pro, i started working at my dads full service gas station in the summers at the age 8 ,yes i had the coin dispenser and i pumped gas ,and most folks would say give me 10 gallon instead of a dollar amount ,we washed windows and checked under the hood at 12 i was performing basic service ,brakes and tire repair .
Hi, I'm confused, I thought the point of leaving the seal out until the timing cover is on, was to avoid the 2 screw drivers and taking the oil pan loose? Yet in the end of the video you mention using 2 chisels and state you will explain why yet you never do...what were they for if not to wedge between the oil pan, and timing cover? Thanks terry
You've made a valid comment.
the 2 flat head screw drivers ,people end up using after they loosen the oil pan to pry down on the oil pan ,to get the timing cover back on , ends up leaking ,i just find tight fitting round punches ,or round pin removers they fit snug into the timing bolt holes for the timing cover ,and it dont hurt the threads ,you can just use those to apply the down pressure to get it lined back up to seat the timing cover ,and not the front oil pan u seal out and cause the pan to leak ,but i understand how the way i worded it made it sound ,that is my fault .
i have seen so many people cause a oil pan to leak ,when this can be done without disturbing the oil pan ,
You should do a video on the timing of the cam, crank, and distributor with the timing cover off.
