    Love that rifle! Had one just like it growing up with my dad. Brings back memories seeing one again. Had quite a few 10/22s but this one was always my favorite. Thanks for the vid! 👍👌

    Sweet Ruger Travis. I've never seen a 10/22 with a beautiful stock like that. Good shooting.

    Hey Travis, That is one beautiful stock and it sounds like that is one beautifully designed/custom rifle.
    Enjoy your shooting!!!
    Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.

    The wood looks great, and there is something about having a nice wooden stuck combined with a brown leather sling that I really like.

      I think the same! My other favorite type is a nice pump shotgun. Hard to beat.

    I don't think I would change a thing on that rifle. Looks great. Funny you were saying about not shooting your nice stuff, like you were saving it or something, well I do the same and have to make myself take them out then I am so glad I did. I don't know why I do that but do. Kinda do the same when running low on a particular ammo, will stop shooting until I can get a crap load more and then only shoot a little bit and save the rest "in case". You may be right about how you grow up. Growing up we didn't have much and what I did I worked and saved for and wanted it to last forever. Nearly 60 years later, still doing that even though I can afford it. Funny eh? Thanks for the video.

    I went to Wallyworld today and picked up some goodies which included some Crossman Copper Magnum! They worked really well in my newest build!

    One of my favorite guns I own is my Savage model 220A 16 gauge single shot shotgun, circa 1950's. You definitely don't see those anymore. 16 gauge shells are not that easy to come by so of course I just reload my own.

    • @ohshoot444
      @ohshoot444  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I have one of those (not entirely sure) that needs work in 20 gauge. I love anything single shot.

    • @OTSA
      @OTSA ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ohshoot444 Yeah I love those old single shots. Got an old .22lr single shot, but my go-to .22lr is my Marlin Model 60. Pre-1985 so it has the 18 round magazine. A lot of folks don't like the tubular magazine, but it's been just fine for me.

    The only thing I would do to that rifle is a trigger job. Polish up sear and touching surfaces. Coat them with moly. Then drop in a $10 spring kit. Groups will tighten.

    • @ohshoot444
      @ohshoot444  ปีที่แล้ว

      This one has a really light trigger from the factory. I think they later called it the BX trigger.

      @@ohshoot444 Alloy or polymer?

    • @Dutch.1722
      @Dutch.1722 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ohshoot444 After the trigger job my rifle put 5 remington subsonics in my thumbnail at 50 yards. I have never shot with the bx trigger. Call me old school, but the trigger should be refined to begin with. And I have tried a stock polymer trigger that was awful to break. You rife is nice. Is that the hammer twist barrel like the one from the 90s?

    Yah, I never bought top shelf Olympics ammo. Mostly bulk. A guy with the 77/22 shot MM all on the same spot. Saving my MM for the summer.

    That's a beautiful 10-22. Funny, I also tend to shoot the firearms that I like the most less often than others...makes no sense. I recently started bringing out my favorite firearms to the range as well.

  • @lawrencehawk5179
    @lawrencehawk5179 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Should get the 17" heavy taper FJ Fedderson barrel for it. Read high reviews for it. Thinking I might try one myself.

    • @ohshoot444
      @ohshoot444  ปีที่แล้ว

      Let me know if you get one of those. That would be a cool barrel for my other 10/22.

    I'm a day late and a dollar short, lol. Great shooting, nice stock and rifle 🙂👍. My Marlin 60 definitely does not have a nice trigger, lol. I had that out hunting a couple times this winter and manage to harvest 1 cottontail 🐇 with it.

    Got a 10/22. Great rifle, but I don't get to shoot it much; I'll have to wait until I visit the in-laws, who have a farm. I can burn off some serious rounds with the 25 round magazines I have. I'd like to see you take that rifle, with a couple 25 round magazines, and shoot at a target 25-50 yards out, with relatively rapid fire, and just make a big fist-sized hole in the middle of the target.

      Any semi-auto .22lr is gonna have some issues because it's a rimmed cartridge. It wasn't really designed to be around as long as it has.
