Fun fact : the funeral scene is the first scene they filmed. So the awkwardness in this scene is REAL. Nobody knows each other lol
They know each other because they were in the table reading the characters and the script of the episodes.
@@itsthatgirl98_ god you must be fun at parties . if you ever worked on a set or had a team meeting at work for the first time, you would soon find out that you don’t know anyone and that interactions are gonna be awkward. Especially if this is the first scene where everyone is acting as their characters for the first time in a scene for episode that is not even the first one in the order .

And there’s the moment most of the reactors say “oh nooooo”
I’m so happy you guys actually follow the dialogue and understand the meaning of the words that are used in the kings court.
One or the few times the show portrayed ser Criston as a bit honourable.
Heleana can sense some things.
When Aemond told his Mother, they bullied him with a pig and Alicent said "You'll have a dragon one day", Heleana said "He'll have to close an eye." And you see what happened in this episode. He got a dragon but closed a eye.
I don't think she really comprehends the meanings, though. Quite possibly the dreams and images she sees have made her quite disconnected from reality.
"It's like if Elmer's Glue was a person."
I'm dying.
5:57 Did you notice King Viserys said, "I'm going to bed, Aemma?" Emma was Rhaenerya's mother.😅
They didn't notice
They talked over it 🙁
Daemon wasnt laughing at rhaenyras sons. In the scene vaemond is essentially throwing the accusation that jacaerys, lucerys and joffrey velaryon are bastards and daemon was laughing to draw the attention away from them, he was being merciful
Another detail you missed is that viserys called allicent "aemma"
"How did dany ever get away with not having a saddle" because drogon is incredible amounts smaller than most of the dragons in this show
And yes you are correct about Halaena, she is a dreamer. She predicted aemond losing his eye to claim a dragon in episode 6
Bridget mostly caught it tbh.
He may have also found it outrageous that Vaemond would start grandstanding in the middle of a eulogy.
No he was laughing about it

Haelena foresaw what will happen to Aemond, one episode ago. " He has to close an eye"
house of the dragon is a lot like succession in the sense that every character is bad and every character is correct
Technically you cannot steal a dragon. They are not to be inherited but claimed. Aemond had the same right to claim her as Rhaena. Come to think of it, if I remember correctly there’s only one instance of a rider claiming their parent’s dragon
Exactly. Of anything, Vhagar should belong to Viserys if inheritance is a thing. After his dragon is dead and Vhagar's previous rider was Viserys's father.
I see it as he stole the girl's right to claim Vhagar. She was most likely promised she would be 1st in line to try. Vhagar would have said yes because she smells like mommy.
So in a way he stole Vhagar.
I agree that you can't "steal" a dragon because it's a living autonomous being, it's not like a car that will drive for anyone behind the wheel. If a dragon doesn't want to accept a rider, it's more than capable of letting that person know in a very direct manner. I do think Aemond sneaking out and claiming it first without allowing his cousin a shot at it first was simply unethical, if anything.
@@robtintelnot9107 Yeah, that's not even true a little bit. Notice how none of the adults were mad at Aemond for claiming Vhagar. They were mad he called the Strong boys bastards.
You can't call dibs on a dragon. Either it accepts you, or it kills and eats you.
@@ems7448 she had first shot. Last episode after her mother died. No one stopped her from trying.
I just found out in the books Rhaenys had Baratheon black hair
Which is why the Strong boys having dark hair made sense. However, in the book, Corlys is white. That race swap makes Rhaenyra look particularly reckless.
The seed is Strong.
They're such strong boys
With a white stripe, right? I can’t remember now.
@@monlovchelYep! I do wish they would have added a black stripe to Rhaenys’s hair if they were going to make her white instead of black. It would have been such a distinctive feature for her.
More like “He rightfully claimed a dragon so we jumped him and he decided to defend himself so we cut out his eye”
Everyone always forgets he was getting stomped on by 3-4 people and grabs the rock to get them off…what would anyone else do in the situation getting jumped by 3-4 people? Just take it? Plus if someone’s else child maimed your child would you be okay with the child who hurt yours just get a stern talking to if so that a weird parent
Dragon's have their own free will to choose their riders, so it's not stealing. Just like Viserys says in episode 1, the fact that we control the dragons is an illusion.
You guys are very perceptive. You not only caught on to the faked death way earlier than most, but alot of reactors mistakenly think Sir Cristin was agreeing to take the kids eye, not refusing.
I was super impressed, considering they are like the only reactioners who did get that. I swear EVERYONE else doesn't even like fucking get Daemon was killing someone in that hallway or just ignore it.
Thy aren't perceptive enough to point it out. They didnt notice Viserys calling Alicent Aemma. The criston thing becomes obvious when you see how he doesn't move from his position and Alicent resorts to other methods. Bridget herself was perceptive in noticing the fake death but they couldn't get why Daemon laughed.
I actually didn't know about this until I read some comments now I know thank you
Aemond didn't steal Vhagar, he claimed her.
"A dragon is not a slave." remember Daenerys' quote.
If Vhagar didn't want to be mounted she would have killed Aemond.
He made a choice and it was a dick move to do it before Baela tried.
@@L.L.Cool.Tnah Rhaena just soft
@@L.L.Cool.T Vhaegar's rider before Laena was Baelon, his grandfather. Mature dragons choose.
@@L.L.Cool.Tnot his problem 🤷🏼♀️
@@L.L.Cool.T Just because Rhaena is the daughter of Vhagar's last owner, that doesn't giver her any special treatment to try and claim her first. It's a first come, first serve practice when it comes to claiming a dragon. Anyone of Targaryen blood can claim any dragon. Plus, they had to plan the funeral and sail from Essos to Driftmark, which I assume must've been weeks. Rhaena could've made the time to try and claim her, but didn't
In the book Laenor is stabbed to death by Qarl at a fair and Qarl disappears after.
That is one decently big change from the book.
Dany should have asked Tyrion to design a saddle, he was good at that
Ha, you completely missed Viserys calling Alicent 'Aemma", but it's a minor detail. ^^
I meeean, minor, but interesting
Is it a minor detail though?
🐴🐴 “The King’s in here!” - omfg I’m in tears 😂🤣
omg the pasty man Elmer's glue joke, followed by "Unleash the Dragon" by Sisqo was top freaking tier! I'm freaking dead 😂😂
You actually made my Echo play ‘Unleash the Dragon’ 😂
"A dragon is not a slave." Aemond's like, if my dad can claim Balerion, then number two for me. Also, Vaghar could have burned him alive -- that is kind of how dragons reject prospective claimants, but she accepted him -- Targaryen/dragon mind-meld achieved. Of course Aemond came in all hot when challenged. KInd of expected if you're thirteen and just claimed the biggest dragon. Aemond didn't try to kill Jace (who brought the knife and is a hothead like his father); he grabbed the rock when there were four kids on top of him, pummeling him. He threatened them, to get them to back off. Then Jace attacked him again, so he hit Jace with the rock (again, self-defense), and Luke grabbed the knife and took his eye out.
Then Rhaenyra tries to get Aemond "put to sharp questioning" (which means torture) for calling Jace "Lord Strong" in the midst of a crazy kid fight. If Rhaenyra really cared about the boys' bastardy being called out, she wouldn't eagerly bring it up in a room full of people, but she knew her kids were in the wrong over the Aemond's eye and the dragon. If you were Alicent, your child has been maimed and threatened with torture, by someone who has always done as she pleased. That was some A-level gaslighting on the part of Rhaenyra. Alicent was absolutely wrong to attack, but that is the definition of the "last straw".
And I'm not team Green. Rhaenyra's bloodline is the one to fulfill Aegon's prophecy, but there's lots of ugly behavior to go around, and shame on Rhaenyra and Viserys for discounting a truly terrible injury to Aemond, a child.
Aemond is 9 at this point.
Before the 10 year time skip, he wasn't born, Alicent wasn't even showing signs of pregancy.
Nah aemond deserved it he ultimately started it and he's a dickhead of a kid. Allicent wanting Luke or Jaces eye was just fucked. If she spent more time being a good mom and raised good kids instead of trying to steal the throne for her nasty rapist son her kid wouldn't have lost an eye. U can't change mind or many of other ppls
They were drinking blood because they had a traditionally Valyrian wedding; we haven’t seen a Valyrian wedding ever so this scene is exiting.

If Vhagar wanted to be Rhaena’s dragon, she could have prevented Aemond from claiming her. The girls might be upset, but Aemond didn’t steal their dragon. They attacked him and he needed to defend himself. Not to mention that Aemond has not been prepared to mix minds with a nuclear grandmothrr

@@matheuskeunecke1335 Rheanyra's boys were as much of an asshole for bullying Aemond and joining the fight against him when they should've tried to end it. Especially since their bullying is part of the reason he wanted a dragon so much. But no one talks about how much of an asshole they were.
Daemon was laughing because Vaemond was shading Rhaenyra because her children weren't Velaryons and Daemon noticed that Rhaenyra was getting uncomfortable and simply laughed to divert attention.
This was a funeral and a wedding in one show
I'm assuming a lot of people who aren't familiar with Targaryen costumes are claiming that Aemond 'stole' Vhagar from Rhaena, who should own her by right. Sure, Aemond handled the situation very poorly, but he was at least in the right in that Rhaena was not owned Vhagar. Obviously it was rough to say to someone on the night of their mother's funeral but like... damn, he got her ass with that one. Honestly, Allicent's kids had some epic moments. When Aegon said "everyone knows" it was so damn cathartic. Everyone was dancing around the truth of the matter and hearing someone finally fucking say it was great. Dragons are not property. They are not inherited by their children unless they prove themselves worthy of flying them. You do not get dibs just because your mommy or daddy rode it. Laena sure as hell didn't. Neither did Rhaenys or Daemon, Meleys used to be Viserys' mom's dragon and Caraxys used to be Rhaenys' dad's dragon. Dragons choose their riders, and Vhagar chose Aemond. She knew that Aemond was worthy of her! Just to point out, I get that Rhaena certainly FEELS entitled to Vhagar, but that doesn't mean it is actually true.
"You do not get dibs just because your mommy or daddy rode it" that made me laugh 🤣 I've given up, 99% of people watching don't understand what's going on and just ride for team black cause the show tells them to
@@foryoursoul1786 These people absolute lack on nuance. American media has forced people to think in black and white. There has to be heroes and villains, there is no in between. Martin's work is how war is terrible and useless. You are suppose to see both sides with contempt. Just think about it what I want to explain now... She sits on her ass, whines, and begs Daddy for help. She's the ultimate gender stereotype of the spoiled princess. This is probably why people adore her, because they want a spoiled, pretty, blonde princess to be considered the rightful heir and to have every need catered to, along with the perfect Targ prince who mostly stays out of the way. Rhaenyra and Daemon are the Targaryen Barbie and Ken. It's the fairy tale Targaryen fans wanted. And Lets be honest, even before the show aired, the fandom was still overwhelmingly Team Black but people had canonical reasons for it. But the levels of toxicity were nowhere near to what they are now. After the show aired, majority of the bitter Dany stans from GoT simply hopped onto the Team Black bandwagon and have tinged the support base with all sorts of WTF stanning. Thank the writers for this 'Danyfication' of Rhaenyra whereas there is not an ounce of similarity between the two if we go by cannon. Frequent harassment or belittling of actors playing the Greens is a key feature. As if they should grateful that the honorable Team Black stans have "allowed" you to be a Targaryen. Plus, inserting modern sensibilities as per one's own convenience is super hypocritical on so many levels. Patriarchy is bad per modern standards, but incest is so progressive SMH. When people just understand this basic fact - its one white-haired imperialist vs another, one entitled royal vs another, one Targaryen vs another, everything will calm down.

@@LucerysOwner oh I get it, dragons aren’t owed and they choose their riders. It was the timing and lack of respect. Then the flippant she should’ve ran out to claim Nanny immediately when her Mom just died (ick). Another thing, I could NOT stand Dany the last 2 seasons and saw her crazy the entire time. I dislike Alicent because she is a religious nut, and if she’d be the one to marry Laenor her treatment of him would be horrific. Shame him and his house for being gay. She’s the type to walk behind Cersi yelling shame. She acts like the typical busybody Christian Karen secretly jealous of the woman that can live her life just trying to do her best. All the while Rhaenyra has a husband that failed at trying to even impregnate her let alone enjoy her. So she was with Strong WITH THE BLESSING OF LAENOR people seem to forget that little fact. i dont think anyone really cares. i mean it is a show and we want to feel whatever it is we think is right.
Everyone who watches this episode ends of relieved that Daemon didn’t kill Rhaenera’s husband but he did murder an innocent servant so there would be a charred body in the fire (lucky for him no DNA tests in Westeros).
Thousands of more innocents will die before this is all over. The Targaryens did not attain the throne by playing nice with innocents. Neither did the kings before them.

i’m on yalls side as far as not like allicent. but i understand her. she was a young girl when she was forced to marry a much older man. she was forced to birth heirs, which means she had to have sex with a man she had no interest in. i can only imagine how uncomfortable that must be for her. her father raised her in a devote way to her faith. so what rhaenyra did with harwin and having bastards is extremely disappointing to her. she was just a young girl doing as she was told to by her father.
Well, not really. Alicent keeps her intentions to ensnare and marry Viserys secret from Rhaenyra. But why? She's her best friend. The look on Rhaenyra's face at the end of E2 is one of utter betrayal - and that's because that's what it was. Alicent lies by omission to her friend. Also, Alicent is not an idiot. She could have fumbled the seduction if she wanted to but she charges ahead full steam. It's a very cynical play on her part and all for her own self aggrandizement
@@gunkulator1 pffft you're joking right?
That plan to have Laenor escape has got to be the dumbest plan ever. So much could have gone wrong. In fact, so much could still go wrong.
Exactly. If Seasmoke bonds to a new rider after this it will blow out all the rules of the dragon rider bond. Saesmoke is not Rhaenyra to have multiple riders at the same time.
If they had chosen to kill Laenor, it would have been the same. there are always risks. People don't act in the most effective and efficient way
They just didn’t want to have a 3 episode stretch where they killed off:
A gay man in a brutal beating.
A black woman dragonrider (1st ever shown in HOTD/GOT).
The last known black male gay dragonrider.
The show got destroyed by the media for Joffrey getting killed, calling it a “bury your gays” trope.

It's easier for Rheanyra to be against the system when her father is the system and she'll be the system. Alicent didn't have that privilege when growing up and she's trying to hold the power she think she has. Alicent saw her son lost an eye and be told to behave, you'd you be furious? Same way Rheanyra saw her kids with a bloody nose when defended them. I'm black leaning but let's not be blind to what's happening and the society they live in
Lmao Cody you set off my Alexa, you bastard ❤😂

Justice for Aemond. He got attacked by the four others, tried to defend himself, got scarred for life, not defended but victim blamed by his own father, who left Alicent completely alone in protecting him. People judge too soon about Alicent. She was manipulated by her dad and had to watch, that Rhaenyra can do anything she wants, without any consequences. She is afraid for her children and the fact that Rhaenyras children didn‘t get any punishment for stabbing out Aemonds eye is the prove for this.
As for Aemond: Boy was bullied for not having a dragon and now that he has the biggest one, they still attacking him. Of course he was cocky about it, but the other kids had no right attacking him for this.

The scene with the kids in front of the king was a replay of episode two of season one, GOT, with Geofrey, Arya & Sansa. In fact, the King says the same thing, "What would you have me do?" I would say that George was paying homage, but George likes to rehash the same exact scenarios too often, as if he ran out of fresh ideas, like he needs 15 years to put out a book, needing to get inspired from other stuff out there.

Aemond doesn’t deserve empathy. No one cares.
no one cares sofia
I'm tired of people acting like your opinions in a fictional tv show don't somewhat reflect your morals in real life. How are you with a straight face going to say a kid that was bullied his whole life doesn't deserve even a little empathy, even if you think he's wrong now, that is still a weird thing to say fictional or not.
