Having road markings that automatically are those of a selected region (e.g. the UK) when starting a map is something I thought would be part of CS2 on launch. I'm still disappointed they aren't, but I have hope it'll become part of the game at some point in the next 2-4 years.
On the asymmetrical junctions like the one you were working on for the middle portion of this video the roads would be offset so that the straight ahead lane is directly opposite the exit and the cars don't need to shift left mid junction.
There's a T junction near me in England that does the same, having the "straight ahead" shift over from the middle lane to the left, so it's not unheard of.
Great video. Love these details! One detail I'd love to see once you get back to expanding the farming industry is something akin drystone walls separating the fields. The lines of trees are nice, but I'd say drystone walls and hedge rows are an icon of British farmland. Also, all the roads between farms should be as narrow and windy as possible, whilst remaining at 60mph!
Hi Biffa, Love the series! At 21:30 in the vid when you are doing the speed limit road markings, it may be best to put one 30mph road marking down near the end of the 60mph road to 'allow them to slow down' for the different road
Seeing just how much time and effort it took for that junction look more uk, makes me wish there was a mod that did it all for you by default! Also, would love to see the zebra crossing white blocks to look more like the uk ones
One of the UK asset pack's creators did actually make Gregg's storefront signage for the game, but with the parody name Grogg's. They made a number of parody storefronts, like Penceland. But they couldn't include them in the pack in the end, because the signage wouldn't match up to the actual business in the shop in the game.
Finally I can sit down to enjoy this video, 7 hours later. And the funny thing is, Biffa's video's I always have to watch with a cat-shaped cut out in the middle bottom half. My cat just LOVES to keep track of all the cars on screen from the coffee table that's in front of my TV screen🥰😂
6:06 TIL that triangle of grass in one of those junctions is called a 'god cake' because it's the same shape as a traditional pastry with that name. I think it was realistic as it was but the redesign with the side road attaching on the apex of the bend is fine for a country road too, I've definitely seen that quite often, usually with the side road being much smaller than the main road. Haven't watched the rest of the video yet but it's already looking good, happy new year Biffaaaaaaaa!
Happy new year everybody....maybe I am just too Biffadicted, for me it´s a bit sad to see Biffa spending nearly half of the episode on creating a stylish junction at the end of the map instead of jiggerypokering in Kettlewick...
21:36 Do you have any oval decals to go around those speed limits on the carriageway? That would be the finishing touch! Also just want to say...as a traffic warden...those yellow lines look stunning!
It’s nice to see the gradual improvement in CS2. I hope the Road Builder Mod improves over time to allow different road markings so we can produce roads with double yellow lines etc without having to do too much detailing.
It would be really cool if road wear was something that visually happened over time. Like when you first place the road it looks pristine and then over time it gets more and more dirty and stained up. How fast and to what extent would be dependent on traffic levels and whether you have the road maintenance building and how well budgeted it is.
Biffa dude... You're content is just great. Happy New Years man. Wouldn't have even known about the game or such attention to detail if it weren't for you. It's 2025. Y'all be safe.
You can challenge a parking fine, if the double yellows are not perfect. A missing terminal could cause confusion, a faint yellow line, could mean 30 mins of loading are permitted, so wardennwould have had to observe your car there for atleast 30 mins.
Brilliant. The amount of detail you put into your cities is a major highlight. Amazing what a difference mods make! To be really, really British though, there should be a potholes mod... xD
Lovely additions there Mr B! A nice bit of mini-roundabout ignoring captured on screen too for that added UK effect... I'm also liking the slight irony of the replacement of the "lethal" junction at the start: just like the one outside Penicuik south of Edinburgh, but there's a traffic light on the main bit and only one of the legs for the minor road is two-way. Looking forward to moar Kettley Goodness. (Why do I get the Camberwick Green music in my head? Or more accurately the Half-Man Half-Biscuit take on it...)
The Speed markings coming upto junctions would be one speed marking on the single lane before you enter. Council saves money on painting. You know it's true!
You need to find those freestanding yellow Traffic Bollards with the blue circle at the top or some No waiting cones for extra British realism Also Roadworks, You gotta have Roadworks that stay there for years with mini traffic lights
Fantastic one Biffa! And the look of the roads without this Vanilla 'wear' is sooo much better, let alone with all the UK detailing! Btw it's a small detail but I simply adore the intro&outro music of the Kettlewick videos, makes it so cosy and homely and nice
Many of your crossroads with the 1+3 lane roads have the left turn lane opposite the carriageway ahead, the straight on opposite the oncoming right turning lane and vice versa. Could you not use the MoveIt mod to nudge the left turn lanes so that they are opposite the pavement ahead, and the straight on then lines up nicely with the opposite carriageway and the right turn lanes are then opposite each other?
Dear Biffa, thank you for keep making vids love it! As for some past Biffa wisdom, do not have to many roads coming in on a single road. please allow the yellowbox some breathing room and maybe alternative road acces to the residential area (home roads coming into main road through the residential area). Im not sure, but it seems during rush hour the traffic cant manage, maybe increase the timer for the main road by a few seconds?

That T-Junction at the start would probably get a traffic light on it if there were too many accidents. I think that it would get a stop sign on the merging road at the very least.

I feel like a big roundabout would just fit better here? Drivers would be forced to slow down as they wouldn't be able to navigate the roundabout at much more than 20mph. You could still have three lanes going in to it (although I think you'd need to split the one lane into two, and then pick one of those to split again, instead of having one lane immediately just split into three). For example the roundabout between the A15 and A52 at (52.918411, -0.406353) on Google Maps. Also at the end of the previous video you noted a lot of people walking along the main road from Cupton Bluff to Kettlewick - would a bus link be a good idea here? I still think a roundabout would have been the way to go there. Also, impressive as the results are, this really shows the need for a CS2 counterpart to the old Intersection Marking Tool... the amount of effort spent on this (and the other one later in the video) really doesn't scale well across the city.
8:34 The lane on the left side of the intersection is a bit too short for straight-heading traffic ig. It could be a little bit longer, as it's quiet sudden for the people on the priority country road.
Spiff is just looking to exploit Greggs, then again with both my British TH-camrs being huge believers in Yorkshire Tea Gold... maybe Greggs is really a front for a Yorkshire Tea Goldmine.
@@PapayaPlaysCS If you are asking about the yellow box, you should not enter a yellow box unless your exit is clear. It stops traffic irresponsibly blocking junctions.
26:30 instead of changing the intersection to a roundabout, how about supressing that intersection altogether? If needed, keep the road as a bike path or service road, but force all regular traffic to go straight.
Now there's something you don't see every day - Biffa REMOVING a roundabout! I will admit that as an American I still don't like them, but I've come to tolerate them a bit more. And in Ohio, they recently got what is being called a 'Peanut' roundabout. It used to be two T-roads (going opposite directions) that were extremely close together.

Hey Biffa, I've been a fan for years right, so I get it that most of you are content creators from the northern hemisphere, I would love to see you create a City totally based on any country besides European and American, I mean with Google maps and modders you can go down South, maybe Oceania, south american or maybe if we are lucky, some african build would do, I was happy the other day when you were doing an African challenge 9n your page, well am hoping to see something different in future builds from your channel, I lóve your content and am a big fan from South Africa 🇿🇦, Happy New Year Sir ☺️
Im finally caught back up with your videos after being behind by about 2 months! Life aye lol. Loving kettlewick series so far and look forward to seeing more of the roads be detailed to be British! One thing about this game that ruined its immersion compared to everything else was the roads always looked really bad/cartoony compared to everything else.

The big junction you were working on at 12:25 onwards - would this not be more realistic as a big roundabout? I think the issue with just adding traffic lights to a crossroads is that if someone is coming along at 60mph:
1) They might be driving on mental autopilot and miss the speed restriction signs especially if they're already looking ahead to the traffic lights;
2) If they're some distance away, traffic light is green and their road continues straight ahead, there's a risk that they'll speed up to try and get through before it changes to red, misjudge, and go flying into the side of a vehicle which has pulled out from a different direction.
3) Traffic lights in the middle of the countryside would be expensive to install, I would think, as they'd have to have their own electricity supply installed.
I feel like a big roundabout would just fit better here? Drivers would be forced to slow down as they wouldn't be able to navigate the roundabout at much more than 20mph.
Those arrow markings in the middle of the junction at 22:40 really dont look right. Just get rid it will look better.
Great vid as always Biffa🔥
Glad you enjoyed 😊
Can you get chip shops and Chinese takeaways ? and of course you need a cricket pitch somewhere
