I have a 2024 Wrangler Rubicon with a 3.6 L and eight speed transmission. It is an absolutely remarkable vehicle! Buying a new Jeep these days with the discounts that are offered is a no-brainer!
I bought a 2024 Gladiator Rubicon in December and got a great year end deal. The 3.6 V6 WITHOUT a turbo is a no-brainer in todays market! Just keep up on the maintenance and this engine can last 200K.
I agree, it's impractical to make the Gladiator a luxury truck. Must people buy them because they're a bit more raw, which makes them fun to drive. I bought a Nighthawk to avoid all the luxury and technical wizardry. It has good, modern basics but not a lot of stuff I'll never use.
People are saying that these things are underpowered, but after riding one at the Detroit Auto Show I do not believe that is true. The way it is geared helps with that. N/A power band is nice, motor just wanted to get up and go. However, there should be a more premium option, maybe the 360 hp tuned 5.7 Hemi from the Durango as a direct upgrade for the Pentastar, and the new hurricane engine or the 392 motor.
Why are the X models the only one you can get full time 4WD on? I got it on my Freedom Edition in Dec 23, now it's no longer an option and ONLY available on X models. I know you are in Utah there (I live in MT) and I know YOU KNOW how valuable full time 4WD is. Tell your dealers to ask for it back as an available option on lower trims. It was a heck of a lot better spent 695 as an option and 595 on a stupid blue tooth speaker... AND practical and safer. LSD at least ought to be "standard" on them... I do love Earl... I came a hair's breadth from buying a Rubicon manual tranny Earl in Dec 2023 but went auto.
I am one of those who like the Jeep Gladiator, the Mojave X model, but I think it is time for a much more efficient engine than the 3.6 V6, a more powerful.
I had a gladiator rental in 2020, I was pretty unimpressed. I currently have one of the wranglers (the phev) and I have to say I was not prepared to like it this much. I probably wouldn't go with the hybrid but its a blast to drive and rides much better especially on highway than the 2020 gladiator did.
These are truly nice looking units with great interiors and all the bells and whistles… but the auto industry as a whole needs to get back to basics. Vehicles today have too many electronics and power options. I think many potential buyers want a more simple vehicle with a much lower $ price like we had back in the 60s and 70s. Just my take. I guess I’m old school.
Witch one better jeep wrangler or jeep gladiator ? Like daily driver and has family and does take it off roading much has possible and they do take on road trip so that being said witch one be a better fit ?
Depending on how you're offroading, they may both be bad😂 They're bad drivers on the road and even worse for passengers. Not a huge deal if the family is only in it for short drives though.
It will always be a jeep, same thing with dodge. They can make them as pretty as they can, but the build quality of dodges and jeeps are just laughable.
Honestly...Jeep has an overall reputation of being JUNK 😮😮 They are stacking up all over dealer lots here in Maine. Yeah... I know a couple of models are ok..yet still way way overpriced!!
The only problem is the 3.6L engine is prone to failure. I would love to buy one, but the 3.6L long term reliability is bad. However every manufacture is producing POC engines due to government green regulations. Turbos fail routinely across manufactures, start stop tech is bad on engines.
I have read nothing but great things about the 3.6 in the ram, challenger. I mean a few bad, but every engine has it’s flaws, but I mainly hear good things about that engine when it’s in the ram 1500
@@nicknadeau5538 I respectively disagree. My friends and I and multiple Jeep groups all have 3.6 L engines with very high miles. That engine combined with the eight speed automatic is pure gold.
Why would anyone want that garbage? EVs are here. EVs are the now and the future. This junk is the past! No one wants that junk! The worst part? We all know Jeep is the pinnacle of technology! 😂

I just picked mine up in Anaheim last week. I got a ton of $$$ off my white Rubicon X. I LOVE IT!
How much did you get off and end up paying?
I honestly love my 2022 Mojave but won’t get a new one until they put a Hemi in it.
Too underpowered?
Or the I6 Hurricane? Love I6 engines.
@@gregjoubert5118 not underpowered for what I currently use it for. If I towed with it I would say it was. I think they’d sell more with the option.

I'm glad he finally reviewed this, Rubicon X is my favorite trim out of any new Jeep model 👍

Aloha Ben. This is a fantastic video analysis for the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon X. Very thorough.
Hopefully Jeep will put in the new 3.0 Hurricane engine in the Gladiator and other models. Then I believe their sales will greatly increase.
64k is not affordable or what its worth. That's a high 40k vehicle max.
Not really, I had a 18 jl & 17jk, now they are worth every penny, leather seat are nice on my 24 jl x much smoother ride,

No way jeep is making a comeback in 2025 until their prices drop about 30,000$
LOL
Ok
They need a 2 door version.
Plus, they really hold their value in the used car market.
Just bought one similar with 20% off then dealer discount also.

They should do one with the 392, but that's capable of pulling a several thousand pounds.
Nice rig. Would be a solid truck for light towing and heavy off roading. Like the V6, but would really do well with the Hurricane I6.
Ben, if I may, out every car you reviewed last year, 2024, what was your favorite, or what in your opinion was the best value buy of the year?
Ineos Grenadier trialmaster with no options added. 80k for a stripped down G-Wagon is pretty cool imo.

Put 6.4 hemi on all gladiators or at least 5.7 hemi and all will sell like crazy. Stellantis fumbling the bag as always
Do the power seats make a big difference?
love this truck
Nice Rubicon I like the color jeep pickup truck love it there not bad looking jeep Rubicon

I just "built" what I wanted out of this model on Jeep's website. $64.5 for the way I'd want it. Hell no.
@Ben... what rides smoother on the roads, city and highway... Rubicon X or Mojave X?
Nice truck

I hate that the rubicon hood vents are not functional.
What are the key differences between the Rubicon and Rubicon X models?
X is fancier
The biggest difference is leather and power front seats.
X basically has all the options and 4WD auto
I’m pretty sure I’m trading my 392 on one. I think Mojave though.
Walmart is the reason my 3.6l grand Cherokee is dead
