“There’s not many demons I’d recommend using the precision bolt on” the precision bolt being used in some of the most lethal 2 weapon combos: how the turn tables
i found the dps output of micro missiles incredibly low and is not that good for dealing single targeted damage. mobile turret is much better for that and uses less ammo.
Weapon swapping between arbalest and ssg is way more dmg if you are up close and I'd be surprised if it did more damage than arbalest rocket launcher as well
Personally, I love the plasma rifle. It's amazing against weak and medium demons and has a very high fire rate. It also does pretty good damage and from my experience you can take out heavy demons no problem if used in conjunction with the ice grenade or the normal grenade.
I actually think the microwave gun only really shows its worth on the higher difficulties. Being able to falter a demon on the higher difficulties by basically microwaving the smaller adds around any of the bigger demons gives you breathing space to run away which directly improves your odds of surviving.
More like a combination of shotguns depending on the range or if weak points need to be destroyed. The normal shotgun w/ grenade mod is simply too versitile and effective not to use. Supershoty is amazing too, but for a different purpose.
@@roydalal6834 usually with balista or precision bolt, but can also utilise sticky bombs tho they're harder to use at range Hell, things have changed over the year

The bottom less upgrade means you can fire 75 mini rockets into a target and wreck 99% of stuff without a crucible / BFG round
In 2016 yes. I. Eternal not as much mainly since the other weapons are just as useful. Super Shotgun is still awesome, especially with flaming meathook
khaair 7684 I use the SSG for large groups of fodder, or I’ll combine it with the ballista to get rid of Mancbi and Marauders with ease. I’ll combine it with the Combat Shotgun as well for some heavy demons like Arachnotrons.
I second on sebastian's comment, 2016 doom had the super shotgun as one of the top 3 weapons when I played 2016 doom, but I find myself using the chaingun and heavy rifle more so than I do the super shotgun But I still love each and every weapon in game, minus some of the asthetics... KEEP 2016 PLASMA RIFLE!!!!!
The Precision Bolt is a godsend with jump/slo-mo rune. Best weak point solution at all distances. Just jump and aim in slow motion in combat for Revenant turrets, mancubus cannons, headshots with explosions etc. I can't play without it after you get the aiming quick down (console player)
The Super Shotgun being the ultimate go-to weapon makes perfect sense. It's quite literally THE original Super Shotgun from *DOOM II: Hell on Earth* that Doomguy used, modified and upgraded as part of his arsenal during his time fighting Hell alone and alongside the Night Sentinels. It was one of the ultimate weapons back then, and it's only gotten stronger.
Ballista + Rocket launcher + quick switching is the highest damage output in the game. Super helpful for Nightmare. Additionally quick switching the super shot gun and either the rocket launcher or ballista is also one of the best combos.
For fighting fodder and farming health the plasma gun is great. The plasma blast is great for stripping weak points off of heavier enemies and recharges fairly quick. Plus after using it your normal ammo damage goes up. I actually find the gun does better at health farming on fodder than the heavy cannon because of the rate of fire. The microwave beam is reserved for heavy demons with shields or if I can isolate a a more aggressive heavy demon from fodder I can stop him from attacking with the microwave beam and probably kill him if I have full ammo. Most of the time this severely weakens him and I can easily finish him off with another weapon. This reduces the risk I take damage from that demon due to it being able to attack. Its most useful to me in situations where there is a swarm of fodder and I am able to get the heavy into a more isolated location as to have enough time to use it.
It helps to watch the crosshair carefully with the heat blast. There are little indicators for each of the three ranks of blast that you build up, and they're easy to miss if you don't know how the thing works. It lets you time your blasts perfectly.
No one seems to be mentioning that the shield mod for the Chaingun is also good for DASHING INTO the demons. If you use the shield and dash into a pinky twice while the shield is up, the pinky will either stagger or die.
Get heat blast to take out weak points without even aiming precision bolt slows me down to much to use and remote detonate can be super effective to a marauder
I love sniper rifles as much as the next guy but honestly they just dont suit doomguy (tho, not gonna lie when certain enemies spam a kilometer away its a godsent)
You know that Slayer Gate with two Tyrants that hits you surprisingly early in the game? One way to make those Tyrants a breeze is to max out the Micro Missile mod before that point. Kill a fodder demon with the normal Heavy Cannon rounds, then quickly focus-fire the now damage-boosted Micro Missiles on a Tyrant. It'll be dead before a fully charged Chrono-Strike rune is depleted. For the five second damage-boosted duration, the Micro Missiles with the mastery skill unlocked is the best DPS in the game.
i it good for quickly deal with one specific enemy when you want to save your crucible or have not energy on that, as it has more dps than bfg according to dev, and one bfg can kill super heavy, but a few shots of unmakyr will do the job. it is good for taking out super heavy as a result.
I haven't even finished this, and I can easily say the combat shotgun is my preferred weapon. For those that don't think so: sticky grenades. Once upgraded, you can fire 5 without reloading, they stagger enemies easily, can rip off the weapons of enemies (revenant, arachnotron, etc), and the splash deals good damage. That doesn't mean I'm completely discounting the power of the SSG, but in most situations I find the combat shotgun has more versatility. It can sticky, it can auto-fire, and it doesn't chew through ammo as fast as the SSG.
Don't even use the micro missle. Just get the precision shot for weakpoints. Also, in glory kill highlight, the precision bolt will kill anything (I don't think i tried this with a cyberdemon though) with a headshot. So you don't have to dive in to finish them if the horde is on your butt.
The Heat blast for the Plasma Rifle is really good for getting rid of weak points up close. Especially for Revenants. As for the Super shotgun vs the Mancubi, and Cyber variant you have to be careful, they do not want you near them. They'll shoot the ground for an aoe effect really really fast, you have to set the SSG up first before going in for a hook, or you'll get punished for it. I usually use a lock on burst then get up in the Mancubus' face with the SSG.
Before the video, my favorites were the sticky bomb launcher for the combat shotgun and the precision bolt for the heavy cannon. This has not changed, as I feel the sticky bomb launcher allows for good hit and run attacks while the precision bolt not only destroys weak points but can be used to scout ahead for better tactical options. However, my opinion on several other mods has changed, with the most notable being the plasma gun's heat blast being more valuable than the microwave beam (which I had previously seen used to great effect on the gargoyles and prowlers). I have even more respect and appreciation for the chain gun's mobile turret and ballista's arbalest mods. I would consider those four (sticky bomb, precision bolt, mobile turret, and arbalest) to be the game's most essential mods.
Eternal is masterpiece. In doom 2016 i used combat shotgun with grenades, plasma with heat wave, supershotgun and gaus - in eternal I used everything but second upgrade of ballista-its very slow. Every weapon have a purpose (in 2016 too, but because of too many ammo you can beat arenas with anything)
Great video, but I highly disagree with a point on the precision bolt. I get that entirely on its own it isn’t great at killing heavy demons, but when switching between ballista and rapidly shooting the precision bolt, you can delete a mancubus in four shots on ultra-violence.
You can pause or slow the video down if need be. For anybody that likes information in a concise format, quicker is better. I personally have gotten used to watching educational videos at 1.5-2x speed based on the speed of the speaker.
So the plasma gun is actually one of the lower tier weapons. But it’s actually my most favorite gun to use. The slow moving projectiles sucks butt though lol. Super shotgun with the flaming meat-hook is a must though. Now the super-shutgun in Doom 2016....that shit was mad broken if you unlocked the feature that lets you fire twice before reloading.
I gotta say both doom games (2016 and Eternal) are really nice games. But the 2016 Doom for me personally is a bit better then eternal I really liked the athmosphere of that game and the guns. I really miss having like the pistol with infinite ammo for backup but they’ve implemented a cool way around It which makes it more challenging but I still preferred the pistol though.
Here you have chainsaw with infinite fuel to get ammo for real guns. I don't remember myself ever using the pistol in 2016, except in the beginning sequence of the game when there were no other weapons.
akuskus Ye but the chainsaw also has limited uses like you can use it once and it has to recharge unless you get fuel ofc but still having the ability to know that you cant physically get out of ammo is great. And also if you have no demons around d you also get into bad situations for example where you have to actually shoot those green things and I went out of ammo and since there was no ammo laying around and no demons I couldn’t get any ammo so I was just stuck and had to do everything again. Also when I just killed a massive horde of demons and then realized there is a secret encounter I also had no ammo left and couldn’t do it.
It uses the same ammo as the BFG. The Unmakyr does a lot of damage to whatever you shoot it at, but it's a finite resource you have to spend wisely, like the Crucible or BFG.
I think the mastered micro missiles are fantastic as while not as damaging as the mobile turret are more mobile and can be deployed much faster. plus with the primary charger I think it does more damage than the mobile turret. combine the primary charger with a grenade of two and it can rip super heavies apart
I am really sorry please don't get demotivated by my feedback. 2:20 - 2:27 USE A FUCKING GRENADE INSTEAD OF A STICKY BOMB AND SAVE SOME AMMO. Loved the rest of the video
My 2 favorite is the precision bolt and stickbomb in ultra nightmare i use that 2 most of the time only in the end when the demons start to pressure me way too much i start to use all the others too.
what difficulty level do you play in ? I am in ULTRA VIOLENCE and stuck as early as in DOOM HUNTER BASE....I think my gun arsenal for some reason is not strong enough at this point. WTF
I really love the super shotgun and the unmakry but the crucible it's favourite choice there's nothing better than chopping demons in one hit like a lightsaber but stronger
So do you earn enough weapon points to upgrade all weapons in one save slot? I have maybe 1 or 2 stages left yet still need around 34 points, and I've 100% every level
I mean I had 20 left over by the end of the game, so I don’t know what to tell you. Yes I bought every upgrade. By the time you reach Nekroval you should only have one or two upgrades left to spend weapon points on
I haven’t tested this but maybe a good idea for the Destroyer Blade is to charge it while under cover of a shield wall from a Carcass, or while in the air from a bounce pad. P.S. Is everybody commenting about the super shotgun, playing on Hurt Me Plenty? Lol. I never find myself using it for every encounter.

Reduced recharge on equipment (like health from frost grenades) and health from bloodpunch means I am swimming in health, armor and ammo.
@@drakkonahn8544 100% True.
I would like to point out the the shield for the chaingun not only protects from the front, but puts a box around the slayer that gives him full invulnerability to all damage, even radiation from when you're standing in green acid. Pretty OP in Battlemode.
Why does everyone try so hard to contend with the shields on the Doom Hunter? It’s sled is completely unprotected. Mini gun, or Gatling shotgun will go right through it
idk, i always kill the sled and then leave it there to clean the level before coming back for the shield and phase 2 to trigger the next spawn. I though it was incredibly easy. Much more than the irritating marauder.
If your tracking is good it can absolutely decimate him, gives you a bigger target to shoot at
@@tylr3669 If you want a tip for the marauder: Shotgun, if he staggers then sticky bomb, (quick switch to ballista) ballista bolt
rince and repeat
it melts the Marauder
I tried taking out the sled first then the shields. Had no success with that strategy. Maybe I just suck and need to move faster. But taking down shields and then hitting him with the lock on rockets was the fastest way for me.
I just send grenades to do the job, even more so if fodder demons are around him. No point of wasting ammo on him.
“There’s not many demons I’d recommend using the precision bolt on”
the precision bolt being used in some of the most lethal 2 weapon combos: how the turn tables
Glad to find there are others who regard combat shotgun sticky mod as a go to weapon and mod combo
A fully upgraded micro missile launcher might be the best weapon against the last two bosses.
It definitely is vs the second to last one anyway
i found the dps output of micro missiles incredibly low and is not that good for dealing single targeted damage. mobile turret is much better for that and uses less ammo.
@@RodoMars remember that the chainsaw reloads so you get infinite ammo against small demons
@@KBWrecker Second to last? I thought lock on rocket launcher was best for that one.
While in practice pro players only use double barrel, balista and rocket laucher, ignoring other guns unless they're required
More like a combination of shotguns depending on the range or if weak points need to be destroyed. The normal shotgun w/ grenade mod is simply too versitile and effective not to use. Supershoty is amazing too, but for a different purpose.
@@addmen96 That's highly unlikely. How do they deal with weak points?
@@roydalal6834 usually with balista or precision bolt, but can also utilise sticky bombs tho they're harder to use at range
Hell, things have changed over the year
I forgot I changed my UI color so every time I watch a video I’m confused why everyone’s HUD and weapon mod screen looks weird. 😂
Artercay What UI color do you use? My favorite is the “Demons” preset :)
Pre video weapon!
Plasma gun and heat blasts. I love how it over heats and then fires red rounds when heated up.
It’s fucking insanely fun.
Then micro missiles with quad damage. The bottom less upgrade means you can fire 75 mini rockets into a target and wreck 99% of stuff without a crucible / BFG round
I've always been a sucker for the full auto mods on the shotgun no matter what demon
@thesteelworm crawl yep. sticky bomb is a scalpel, full auto is a sledgehammer
I will watch all the videos, and learn everything about all the guns and how to use them, and I'll *still* only use the super shotgun
Making sure I've got rocket launcher and lock on is a must for me. Probably my go to gun for most heavy demons.
Who else finds themselves rockin the super shotgun 90% of the time?
In 2016 yes. I. Eternal not as much mainly since the other weapons are just as useful.
Super Shotgun is still awesome, especially with flaming meathook
khaair 7684 I use the SSG for large groups of fodder, or I’ll combine it with the ballista to get rid of Mancbi and Marauders with ease. I’ll combine it with the Combat Shotgun as well for some heavy demons like Arachnotrons.
I second on sebastian's comment, 2016 doom had the super shotgun as one of the top 3 weapons when I played 2016 doom, but I find myself using the chaingun and heavy rifle more so than I do the super shotgun
But I still love each and every weapon in game, minus some of the asthetics...
KEEP 2016 PLASMA RIFLE!!!!!
i like the heavy cannon with the mini rockets
Literally everybody.
It’s great how you need to use multiple weapons in this game, honestly I definitely just relied on the rocket launcher and the super shotgun in 2016
The Precision Bolt is a godsend with jump/slo-mo rune.
Brand new to DOOM, this helped immensely. Thank you! Happy slaying.
I just got the game today and this vid helped alot so thanks
Excellent work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Ballista + Rocket launcher + quick switching is the highest damage output in the game. Super helpful for Nightmare. Additionally quick switching the super shot gun and either the rocket launcher or ballista is also one of the best combos.
Use lock-on missiles for the Marauder. not every missile will hit but you kill him in 3 lock-ons. The super shotgun took more like 7-10 shots
6:45 Is that why you take a Plasma Rifle from a soldier at the BFG?
"NOOO YOU CANT JUST USE ONE WEAPON THROUGH OUT THE GAME!!"
me: haha super shotgun go boom
I would love you to play through master taras nabad/ the ancient gods with that attitude.
What I was searching for! Great job! Thx.
Get heat blast to take out weak points without even aiming precision bolt slows me down to much to use and remote detonate can be super effective to a marauder
Try precision bolt with the aerial slowdown rune
I love sniper rifles as much as the next guy but honestly they just dont suit doomguy (tho, not gonna lie when certain enemies spam a kilometer away its a godsent)
@@phoos4029 Exactly
You know that Slayer Gate with two Tyrants that hits you surprisingly early in the game?
One way to make those Tyrants a breeze is to max out the Micro Missile mod before that point. Kill a fodder demon with the normal Heavy Cannon rounds, then quickly focus-fire the now damage-boosted Micro Missiles on a Tyrant. It'll be dead before a fully charged Chrono-Strike rune is depleted.
For the five second damage-boosted duration, the Micro Missiles with the mastery skill unlocked is the best DPS in the game.
does anyone else get headaches or feel a bit tired or dizzy after playing an hour or so of Doom Eternal? the 3d and speed is intense
Do you get car-sick?
I do not get this from Doom Eternal but Doom 2016 did make me nauseous after playing through a level.
If I play doom Eternal for hours on end, my brain will eventually get tired because the game constantly is forcing you to think very quickly.
I found turning off the motion blur helped me, I can't play with it on without feeling motion sickness!
The 5 shot for sticky bombs is also good against the hellknight, 4 bombs and they are staggered
What about the unmaker?
It's probably in heavy spoiler territory so he can't cover it in the review copy.
Unmaykr's not a spoiler weapon; it's plain as day in your Fortress of Doom and requires you to do optional Slayer Gates, not story progression.
It's the Chaingun on roids, really.
i it good for quickly deal with one specific enemy when you want to save your crucible or have not energy on that, as it has more dps than bfg according to dev, and one bfg can kill super heavy, but a few shots of unmakyr will do the job. it is good for taking out super heavy as a result.
But it’s better to use the BFG since it’s more ammo efficient in every way
I hadn’t realized some weapons share ammo types. Thanks for the info!
Is there a range beyond which you can't get a Rocket Lock-On lock?
I haven't even finished this, and I can easily say the combat shotgun is my preferred weapon. For those that don't think so: sticky grenades. Once upgraded, you can fire 5 without reloading, they stagger enemies easily, can rip off the weapons of enemies (revenant, arachnotron, etc), and the splash deals good damage.
That doesn't mean I'm completely discounting the power of the SSG, but in most situations I find the combat shotgun has more versatility. It can sticky, it can auto-fire, and it doesn't chew through ammo as fast as the SSG.
remember that the chainsaw reloads so you get infinite ammo against small demons
Thank you for the video!
I’m just here for some Destroyer Blade mod gameplay.
"you cant use 1 weapon for everything"

🎯🚀🚀🚀🎯🚀🚀🚀🎯🚀🚀🚀
Straight forward video good job, thank you!
Thanks for watching! :)
"Or freeze them with the ass grenade." Lol
The micro missiles at full capacity are sooo satisfying.
There seems to be a distinct lack on unmaker, eh?
I don't count it as a weapon you need to get through the game since you get it when you've basically mastered the game, hehe
It's a weapon because you kill stuff with it.
Great video, but I highly disagree with a point on the precision bolt. I get that entirely on its own it isn’t great at killing heavy demons, but when switching between ballista and rapidly shooting the precision bolt, you can delete a mancubus in four shots on ultra-violence.
Great job of explaining weapons and mods. I wish you could slow it down so that viewers could take notes. A matrix would be a fantastic tool!
You can pause or slow the video down if need be. For anybody that likes information in a concise format, quicker is better. I personally have gotten used to watching educational videos at 1.5-2x speed based on the speed of the speaker.
Nice video!👍✌️
Can I use dual lock on a single enemy to fire 6 rockets at him? If yes, how to do that on a PC?
But what about choosing between the bfg and the unmaykr?
Is the Marauder injured by the remote detonation? I noticed that it is staggered if detonated behind the shield
Super shotgun, all day but the combat shotty with sticky is the best fall back.
once the SS turns into an armor generator via meathook, it's the main weapon for me.
What about the unmaker ? What ammo does that use and does it help against particular demons ?
It uses the same ammo as the BFG. The Unmakyr does a lot of damage to whatever you shoot it at, but it's a finite resource you have to spend wisely, like the Crucible or BFG.
at 1:19 in the video with i beat the game 100% on UV AND MY FAVORITE weapon was the plasma rifle (Will reply with any updates after the video)
The Plasma Rifle’s microwave beam is nearly broken in multiplayer. It feels so cheesy that I try not to use it cause I feel bad. Lol
If you get good enough you can use the ssg + ballista pretty much all of the time, as long as you use the chainsaw frequently
What is the blue shield thing on the top right of the menu? I never spent any of those points and cant find out what they are for.
Sentinel batteries, you use them in the fortress to unlock those locked doors
I’m just realizing that because I’ve had chronostrike on the whole game that the game doesn’t normally slow down during meathook from the SSG 😅
Also precision bolt and balista combo deal massive damage on a long distance
Unmakyr?
That's what I was wondering as well
Bfg is better in every way
It's Unmaykr.
I've been watching speed runs and they use the precision bolt full auto, how do they do that
Glitch.
Plasma Rifle is pretty great against just about all heavies and super heavies except whiplash, Cyber Mancubus and prowler, even on Nightmare.
I think the mastered micro missiles are fantastic as while not as damaging as the mobile turret are more mobile and can be deployed much faster. plus with the primary charger I think it does more damage than the mobile turret. combine the primary charger with a grenade of two and it can rip super heavies apart
Before watching :Rocket Launcher/BFG
After watching: The Chain Gun
Him :you need to switch through weapons
Me has the unmaykr and the infinite ammo cheat on: laughs you fool
He said normal combat shotgun shot isn’t that useful late game, but it’s easier to stagger fodler demons than both mods.
Dude it’s so hard to tell when the heat blast is ready to fire
I am really sorry please don't get demotivated by my feedback. 2:20 - 2:27 USE A FUCKING GRENADE INSTEAD OF A STICKY BOMB AND SAVE SOME AMMO. Loved the rest of the video
I left this video the same way I came in...
Loving my chaingun
My 2 favorite is the precision bolt and stickbomb in ultra nightmare i use that 2 most of the time only in the end when the demons start to pressure me way too much i start to use all the others too.
what difficulty level do you play in ? I am in ULTRA VIOLENCE and stuck as early as in DOOM HUNTER BASE....I think my gun arsenal for some reason is not strong enough at this point. WTF
3:43 you can unload in their back
I really love the super shotgun and the unmakry but the crucible it's favourite choice there's nothing better than chopping demons in one hit like a lightsaber but stronger
Doom Hunter's sled goes down with a few blood punches. Best to save your ammo than waste energy cells.
What about the Unmaykr?
Lock on burst on rocket launcher is necessary for khan makyr fight
ive found that the micro missle are great at doom hunters
What about the unmakyr?
Either chaingun, plasma rifle or combat shotgun now
So do you earn enough weapon points to upgrade all weapons in one save slot? I have maybe 1 or 2 stages left yet still need around 34 points, and I've 100% every level
master levels?
I mean I had 20 left over by the end of the game, so I don’t know what to tell you. Yes I bought every upgrade.
By the time you reach Nekroval you should only have one or two upgrades left to spend weapon points on
I haven’t tested this but maybe a good idea for the Destroyer Blade is to charge it while under cover of a shield wall from a Carcass, or while in the air from a bounce pad.
P.S. Is everybody commenting about the super shotgun, playing on Hurt Me Plenty? Lol. I never find myself using it for every encounter.
