  • Had to take my door panels off the ZR1 so thought I would make a video on how I removed them. This will be the same on all C6 corvettes. ZR1, Z06, Grand Sport and Base

I installed some soundproofing material in the trunk/hatch area of my C6 and it went pretty easily but I was a bit apprehensive about doing it for the doors. This looks pretty straightforward (and I trust that reassembly did not pose any problems!) so I may go ahead. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the vid! The bottom speaker in the drivers side door is vibrating. Hopefully it just needs to be tightened, and is not blown. Didn't know how to get to it until i saw this vid.

Oh yes, it worked like a charm. Fixed the speaker with a little super glue and it stopped vibrating. It was a bear getting the lip brackets back on though. Much harder to reassemble that to take apart. Glad I did it though. Thanks again!

What year corvette was this video made from? I ask as i’m curious about what year the door panels got the upgraded arm rest pad…. Early years do not have that padded extension on the panel.

    Thanks for the video!
From my experience just now (only disassembled drivers side):
During reinstall I found the 4 metal tabs along the top to be a big pain in the butt. I ended up sort of rolling the panel downward from the top, starting at the front and working my way back. That still didn't get all of them on so I pulled up really hard on the panel and pushed it in. That seemed to to seat the middle ones. Seems to be back together now.

Well, a nice video. I would’ve preferred to see you actually Priority for the door card. Just saying pry it off as a whole lot different than actually doing it, such as which direction to pry and move the door.

Why didnt you record the actual removal of the panel? That's what most of us came here for just fyi

Thanks for the heads up. I was early in my TH-cam making so didn't really think about that. I have gotten better at showing the whole process on newer videos.

Beautiful car. Yeah, so if the bolts are T30, then they aren't "Allen heads." They're Torx. Also, they're "screws," not "bolts." Not trying to be a pedantic pest, I just like proper English usage. Thanks for the video.

@@TWAMotorsports Gotcha. I understand the problem. I've seen people get so spooked by knowing the camera was on them, that others are, or will be watching them, that they freeze mentally, & sometimes physically. I sympathize. It sounds like a horrible problem to have. Thankfully, I don't have that. I am not afraid of public speaking, have done so many times in high risk, high reward scenarios with important people watching & millions of $$$ on the line, & I rather enjoy it, subjecting the audience to MY agenda on MY terms. They can't leave, they have to stay, and even if I screw up, they have to suffer through whatever mistake I make. During those moments I'm their boss & in control. Even CEOs of large corporations, especially CEOs of large corporations, suffer in polite silence, but I rarely make a mistake, thank goodness. I still can't get used to the fact that Corvettes use metric-sized hardware. When did THAT happen? I like it, it's easier, years of working on Japanese motorcycles have taught me bolt & screw sizes by sight, still, it's unAmerican! Thanks for the video, & good luck with future productions! Cheers!

@@TWAMotorsports I thought I had responded, but now I don't see my response. Maybe my "computer ate my homework." Anyways, I sympathize with not being able to put coherent thoughts together and then say them when "performing" in front of the camera. I think it's pretty common. Whenever I see someone experiencing this issue it makes me feel terrible. They seem both terrorized by the situation, and helpless to stop that terror. What a horrible plight to have. Thankfully, I do not have this issue. I'm the opposite. I like it when others have are forced to listen to whatever message I'm delivering. Public speaking is no problem for me. I understand the fear people have, and as I'm sure you're aware, it is a common fear, but I don't have it. I have spoken to large audiences in highly stressful situations and it just doesn't bother me. We're all people, and when I'm speaking to large groups, I feel like I have some amount of power over the audience because generally they HAVE to be there. Listening to me wasn't optional. I never abuse the audience, I like the audience, but I don't get nervous, and I generally think pretty well on my feet. I don't know why this is. Again, I feel for you, and I suspect your ability to think while being video recorded will get ever better and better as you do it more, so good luck with future videos. Cheers, and thanks for the response.
