    Thank you for this video!! It was EXACTLY what I needed to get my Craftsman running again after sitting in a shed for 2 years. I learned a great deal from this video and left more knowledgeable and self-sufficient because of it. Huge reason I love TH-cam is because of content like yours. Outstanding!!!

I took a shop for the warranty, they charge 90 for assessment plus whatever it needed to get done, probably a cleaning/tune up, for another 100, I saw this video and went to grab my deposit and lawn mower, cleaned carborator and it run better than it did before.. you saved me 200.. cheers to that!

    My Neighbor was tossing her ex husbands one year old mower that sat and was leaking gas. I think he might of added oil to the tank based on the dried out green sludge in the fuel bowl. It would not run so he hired a lawn service. When I found your video it was like having it serviced at my house. I followed all your steps and it fired right off. Also Carb Cleaner and Sea Foam are great. Thanks very much. Hank Drabczak

    Thanks for your video. Pretty helpful--and one of the only ones I could find out there on this mower engine for carb removal. Troubleshooting my Columbia 159 cc and starting with a good carb cleaning. Tried running it afterwards but still boggy. Going to double check all the levers and springs are on properly, run the mower, and go from there.

    • @bounjamin
      @bounjamin ปีที่แล้ว +1

      New update: mower still suffering from some kind of bogging down. Runs, bogs down, runs, and then cuts out eventually.
      Cleaned the carb three times, dumped fuel (only rinsed gas tank with fuel; no air gun), changed spark plug, and burned/shook muffler empty. Fuel filter was changed early last year and the beginning of this season. I changed oil a couple months ago. The carburetor looked fairly clean; no rusting or discolouring. The ignition coil is rusty on the metal part beside the engine block.
      I haven't really checked the gas cap but would it cause this symptom?
      Not sure what to do now... Clean it again or check the ignition coil?

    • @smallengineguys
      @smallengineguys  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bounjamin if the vent in the gas cap is clogged it will cause these symptoms. When it starts acting up crack open gas cap. If it runs good again get new cap.

    I have this mower and it runs for 10 minutes and stalls. Also the idle is weak. May be something to do when the engine warms up? Or a misplaced carb gasket?

    • @smallengineguys
      @smallengineguys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2 possibilities. bad coil. when it gets warm it dies. or bad gas cap. there is a vent in it that gets clogged stopping the flow of gas. this is guessing that you've already done carb and replaced plug and oil.

    • @tpc3416
      @tpc3416 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@smallengineguys I didn't even think to blow the gas cap out. I haven't had to change a coil in years. I usually just file off any rust. This thing looks like new. Just a lot going on as far as linkage.

    • @smallengineguys
      @smallengineguys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have the exact lawnmower and the hose that go from the top of fuel tank to a valve were rotted. The valve has 2 ports and one port is at a angle. One hose goes on top of the fuel tank and the other hose goes behind the air filter housing. Is there a certain way the valve has to be facing? On the valve under the shield it has 2 letters. T and P? I changed the hoses and now my lane mower won’t start
