I love how comfortable you make the model, you correct her in a way where it doesn't make her feel uncomfortable about herself. Also you're throwing a lot of information out, but making it make sense lol I really hated photography classes but you are so helpful without taking any of the fun out for me. You took some of the most beautiful pictures.
Jessica, these are really beautiful portraits! They definitely check all the boxes that agencies are looking for in a test shoot, most importantly that the natural beauty of the model is shining through.
Jessica, just want to say thanks for this style of tutorial. It was especially cool when you demonstrated the difference between shooting close and giving some room to crop close. In addition, it was really nice to be able to hear the model give her perspective about the shots that she needs. Finally, I really love the eyes looking away shots. Something about them for me! LOL! Thanks again and have a rockin' day!!
I like how you use accidental light or breeze to your advantage. You're not thinking "it must look a certain way". And using 1/800th is great for freezing the strands of hair. You didn't have to adjust when the wind picked up.
There is so many reasons i watch your videos, jessica. They are brightening my day every time. They are funny, very informative, interesting, not overly technical and overwhelming. For me the way you are describing things is really intuitive and that's what i personally need. I love the way your videos are edited. They are calm without being boring and still don't lack any energy. I love your personality, the way you interact with people and general your surroundings. I just wish all the best things for you, your family and friends and of course your cats. Thank you for inspiring so many people and making them feel seen and respected. 😊❤
Some great advice here, I've been shooting for model agencies for 10+ years, some pointers I'd give would be; Keep it natural looking in terms of makeup, styling and retouching, find makeup artists who are good at doing a 'no makeup' makeup look, and don't over retouch / kill the skin detail. less makeup is easier for retouching skin than too much. 50mm is good for full length etc, maybe jump to 85mm for head shots, it can be a more flattering perspective. don't go too crazy with the lighting, you can add shadow and shape to the light, but keep It flattering to the model, and stay away from dramatic Gel colours, unless its just a test / creative shoot. If you love black and white ( I do ) still try and give the model / agency colour versions of the final images, as well as the black and whites.
If i can have a request for this type of photography tutorial, I would really love to learn how to take photos where model doesn’t acknowledge the camera, i don’t know the right word for it, but when you look at the photos it is like you are peeking into the life of somebody doing their stuff. (Is it called candid photography?) If you know how to phrase it better, please help me. I would really love to learn it☺️ P.s. this video was awesome, thank you! I don’t shoot models, but the tips are very helpful regardless!
*she is absolutely stunning!!! and the way you capture her natural beauty and essence in these photos is remarkable!! I adore these photos so much, habibi!!* 👏👏👌👌🤩🤩🤩🤩
Love to see you using the 5D and the most affordable Canon lens. Shows so much how it's not about the gear. You don't need the latest most expensive stuff to get work done.
Thank you Jess!! I was happy when you said 50mm cause thats my first full frame lens i invested in and im loving it. Also Serenity did AWESOME i was getting some strong Windblown Jackie vibes. Thank you both for being so inspiring 💗
You gave more good advice on cropping in;! When I see agency photos on the website, I love those close ups and often crop in camera to get those kind of framing. I never thought to back up and crop IN to get those looks, afraid of losing pixels and resolution etc
Really like this tutorial style video. Know that you have been worried about what type of content to make but these kinds of videos are so helpful. Want to see more tips and tricks. Hope you keep it up!!!
Great tutorial indeed. I followed you years ago when I first got into photography with a 70d, then 80d. Now I use a full frame 6d ii with an array of Canon lens Tell me, Canon 5d is and did you use M, AV, TV or something else??? There should be more photo shoots but of you. You certainly have the facial features to be included in your photo shoot. You certainly inspire. Thank you again for any info you supply.
Question for Serenity: how do you manage to stay in the sunlight so long without getting a sunburn? Is it hard applying sunscreen if you’re gonna have closeups?

The direct light shots made her hair colour pop ❤ so gorgeous

The amazing thing about your videos is that they are as funny as they are informative - Jessica you got such a wicked sense of humour!

Thank you for these tips Jessica! I am trying to get amped up for taking Fall portraits. 😌🍁❤️
You and Serenity are a perfect example of Model and photographer synergy creating a beautiful picture. Bravo to both of you.
These are beautiful shots. The lighting was really good
Great tips! I've put a bunch of miles on that same lens, and agree with your description 100%. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much Jessica♥️♥️♥️
Please we need something on Colour Harmony or Colour as a whole in photography
Leave the heavy baggage in your past. You don't need it for the next part of your journey.😇
All your videos are interesting, informative and beautiful❤
Great job, i will definitely do a photo shoot like this.📸
One of the best photographer! Love this, really informative 😍
love red head model shoots. love the new content. !
Thanks for sharing 🤙🏾
Great tip! Thanks Jessica
Nice work! But, Why landscape orientation gives you more sharpness?
Is Serenity the model in the Chicago video? That was awesome! I love these outside photoshoot videos, keep them coming!✌👏
Yes! I love working with her 🥹
Jessica still rocking this tank (dslr) 😂💜

JEZKAAA. DO WITH PHONES SOMETIMES!
Gorgeous ladies! My daughter's name is Serenity and my name is Jessica.😊
the fan photo was awesome!
Thank you so much!!! It definitely helps with movement haha
Great tips 🎉
Hi Jessica, great video. When you crop is it in photoshop or Lightroom?
"... lightweight... unless it falls into the ocean..." - best line!
Look at that glorious hair Jess has ✨✨👌👌
She is what you would call “undeniably gorgeous “ 😲
Question for Serenity: how do you manage to stay in the sunlight so long without getting a sunburn? Is it hard applying sunscreen if you’re gonna have closeups?
I'd like to see how u edit these shots
Honestly I don’t care how good you are with a camera you need professional models
Can you show me how to take pictures with the 70-200 lens?
Thank you for checking on her eyes. I can't do bright lights with my blue eyes.
Does it matter if headshots are taken outdoors or indoors because I've only ever seen indoor studio headshots for models
It’s given Merida from brave
Jessica, please prepare a walkman with a Kate Bush cassette at the ready!
Hi, Sam! 😃
T R U T H !!!!! ✨💃🏼✨📸
woooooooow
That voice is mad strong 😂
Ooh, what eyes. 😃
Maybe try painting
Is it even possible to take a bad picture of some people?
She shootings at 2.2 cause she knows that lens is garbage at 1.4 lol I would have just used the 18-55mm kit lens for that
The models don't have to stoop if you get a stool.
So are you saying you can't take super sharp vertical shots?? That comment, to be honest, made no sense at all to me..
Waft with a reflector. you amateur!
